I volunteered at my first Pride festival the other day. I met up with some other people from the DSA before my shift, and I felt like they were pretty engaged with me and wanted to get to know me. Someone else and I got tarot readings done. I thought my reading really nailed a lot of my life circumstances on the head; I got a lot out of it, and it gave me a deep sense of hope.

During my volunteer shift almost everyone I talked to seemed kind and helpful. One of the volunteer coordinators is someone I recently fell out with, and yet she especially was giving me a lot of praise and positive encouragement. I felt respected and seen even by random vendors or festival-goers.

It felt good, and I felt loved.
