DOMINIC'S WACKY PLAYPLACE!!!

it was no secret that you and Caine were together : ever since you came here you two were inseperable, like two peas in a pod. You were both somewhat wacky in your own way, with Caine being energetic and boistful while you were timid and sweet. Opposites do attract each other, don't they ?

of course that was enough material for Jax to work with when it came to bullying you.

"oh newbie ! your E-boyfriend's here !"

"…"

it was usually like that : witty little comments, sneaky little jabs that you socialize better with an ai than any human here anytime you tried to speak up. The only thing that you were grateful about this is that Gangle seemed to have been freed from his constant bullying…since now you were his favorite victim to torment. It almost made you want to stop interacting with Caine sometimes, to cut ties completely just to be seen as normal again. Basically it made you feel like shit and boy did that overgrown purple furry feed off of your suffering.

"so ? what's new with you and Cainey ?"

"…"

"come on, don't give me the silent treatment ! You know it won't work" he crossed his legs. You were both sat in the lounge room on opposing couches as Zooble had only entered the room to see Jax already causing you trouble.

"what new little interaction did you have with our jailer huh ? Don't spare the details-"

"oh my god, can't you just leave them alone for once ? if they're happy with the maniac then let them be"

Zooble quickly came to your defense, not wanting you to suffer any longer from Jax's broken pride and greed for trouble…or perhaps his not so very subtle envy ?

"or what ? little bootlicker here needs to deal with the consequences of their actions !"

"what conséquences are you even talking about ? very rich coming from you by the way"

they placed their hands on their hips as Jax rolled his eyes.

"I don't see what you mean by that"

"you literally are most of the time the reason why the adventures don't go as planned. Want me to list all the shit you made us go through for your own sadistic entertainment ?? you'd be in jail by now if it weren't for our situation"

"well I'm not ! and besides, no one's dead because of it !"

"only for you, when we do the same you just complain about it…"

they sighed as they plopped onto the couch, glaring at Jax as you stayed silent

"this is getting boring, anyways, why don't we call your little knight in shiny armor newbie ?"

" Jax don't-"

"HEY CAINEEEE"

"oh god damn it-"

Caine appeard in a poof of glitter, a silly smile on his face as he spoke out loud proudly.

"YES JAX ! what can I do for you ?-"

he soon noticed Zooble and you as he immediatly got distracted.

"oh ! hi Zooble ! hello there my darling"

Zooble rolled their eyes as you smiled sweetly at Caine, happy to see him at least as you waved him hi shyly. Caine soon looked back at the fluffy purple pest who was grinning from ear to ear.

"just thought you'd miss your little sweetheart over here"

Jax's tone was condescending as he pointed at you with his thumb. Caine smiled, not taking Jax's sarcastic tone as he spinned around to look back at you with all the adoration he could hold.

"oh and you are absolutely right my prankish little rabbit !"

Caine zoomed towards you, sitting besides you as he wrapped his arms around you, gently nuzzling his head against yours. It made you smile still, returning the hug as Jax rolled his eyes

"yuck…"

"oh leave them alone"

"why should I ?"

the tension between Zooble and Ja rose as Caine took notice of it immediatly, feeling you tense up in his arms as you looked somewhat guilty.

"now now my coily little sausages, while today is a mandantory day off it doesn't mean that you all need to get fisty with each other to entertain yourselves ! go explore the grounds or try out different locations around the place ! I'm sure you'll find a little npc to terrorize my fisty purple box glove"

Zooble looked back at Caine as they sighed.

"for once, Caine's right. Go take a stroll or something"

"ugh…whatever…I'll go see if I could mess with dollface and ribbons instead"

he stood up, back slacked as he walked off. You felt a weight off your shoulders as you soon felt the familiar smooth surface of Caine's teeth pressed gently onto your cheek, his hold on you gentle, as if you'd break easily in his arms.

"are you alright my darling ? how was your morning ?"

you smiled at his sweet worry as you relaxed further into his arms.

"it was great, I got to rest for a bit longer…thank you"

"you are very welcome my darling"

he cupped your face, thumbs gently stroking your cheeks as he pat your head gently.

"now, I'll be in my office to deal with a few adventures for the time being. If you ever need help, you know who to call !"

he smiled brightly as you nodded

"of course, I'll hang out with the others for a bit… I'll call you once I'm done so we can cuddle together, alright ?"

that sentence was like promising a dog his favorite treat as his pupils widened and glistened in excitement

"oh absolutely my beautiful little rosebud ! I'll keep you on that promise ! tootles my dear !"

he gave your hand a kiss before disappearing cartoonishly just like he appeard earlier. Zooble sighed, looking over at you as you seemed happy with him.

"…thanks again for getting us that uh…mandantory day off…Don't know how you managed to convince him…"

"no worried Zooble…as long as I can help…"

"oh you help plenty…though I feel bad that we throw you to deal with Caine everytime we want something…"

Zooble confessed, clearly looking a little guilty. Everytime the others needed something, they'd come up to you so you could talk sense into Caine since it seemed like he only listened to you…that being Zooble each time they didn't want to go to his adventure or trying to give Jax some karma for his actions. You sighed, getting up from your seat as you settled closer to them.

"hey, don't say that. I like hanging out with Caine and I want your stay to be somewhat alright as well…if talking to him gets you guys to have a break then I'm happy to do so. besides, he wants to please everyone here, especially you Zooble"

Zooble nodded, their face softening as they sighed. You were too good for your own good. and lately the adventures have grown…toleratable…from Pomni's explanation…so even if it was sort of a win-win situation between you, Caine and the troupe, Zooble couldn't help but feel like they were abusing of your kindness sometimes.

"heh, well…that's good to know then…still I don't know why he's so determinated into pleasing me…just don't let Jax get to you. You've got a heart of gold…"

you smiled sweetly at their compliment, placing a hand on their shoulder as you looked at them in the eyes.

"so do you, Zooble…"

that took them by suprise at first but they gently relaxed and silently accepted you compliment back, their antennas twitching softly as you two stayed silent.

"AAAAAH !! JAX !!"

you turned to see Ragatha covered in centipedes, rushing out of the hallway from afar and brushing them off of her as she struggled and frantically moved around in a franzy.

"oh…oh no…"

you muttered Under your breath

"ugh…again with the centipedes ?"

Zooble mumbled in an angry tone as they soon felt you stand up.

"going to your room so soon ?"

"yes…I-I Don't want to be where Jax is…"

"hey, it's fine. I get it. be safe, alright ? I'll go see Ragatha"

"okay, see you later Zooble"

"later…"

you made your way towards your room, looking back to see Zooble already helping Ragatha with the centipedes that weres still stuck in her back and her hair. You went through the halls, soon finding your room, entering it and finding none other than Caine, already in your bed, resting on his side with his head resting on his knuckles as his expression lit up at the sight of you.

"my darling ! you came here quicker than I expected ! you must have missed me dearly"

you smiled, mindlessly closing the door only to let a small little opening be noticeable.

"hehe…I sure did…"

you got closer and settled down onto your bed, letting Caine do whatever he wanted as he cupped you up and nuzzled into the crook of your neck, gently peppering it with kisses as you could hear smooching noises, making you giggle softly as the feeling of his chest pressed against your back made your cheeks redden a little.

"hm, this is great"

he suddenly snapped his fingers, disappearing as you were now layed onto your back. Before you could acknowled anything, you felt his gentle weight on top of you body and saw his face right up in your face.

he settled his head on your chest, leaving you to gently stroke the top of his head.

"it sure is…"

his tailcoat wagged happily, his feet lazily kicking back and forth in the air as he hugged you like a teddy bear. he lifted his head up a little to stare back at you, pupils wide with all the love he held for you as you smiled at his sweet lovesick expression.

"Something caught your interest ?"

you teased gently, your voice above a whisper as he let out a deep, relaxed grumble

"yes, very much so my dear"

"why don't you show me ?"

"hmm, of course my darling"

he gently leaned in, taking you up on your offer as he pressed a sweet kiss to your lips, making you wrap your arms around his torso as you both held each other in a tender embrace, gently kissing each other back as you closed your eyes, peacefully enjoying the sweet, passionate yet gentle moment you two were having.

little did you know you two weren't alone and that surely wasn't just Caine's all seeing eyes popping into existence inside the room. Jax was literally peeping from behind your door, staring at the two of you as he had a wicked grin on his face. if the others had your back all the time, why not make sure that they won't ever look at you the same again ? he kept on watching you two despite your kiss growing more heated, gently letting the tip of his tongue meet yours as he hovered above from you, keeping himself up by his arms as you gently moaned and hummed into the sweet kiss you two were sharing. The kiss didn't escalate as Caine gently pulled away to go back into cuddling with you, making you laugh over the trails of kisses he decided to leave from your face to your shoulder blades. with that, the two of you held each other dearly, keep each other securingly in each other's arms as you two basked in the sweet and intimate moment. although at some point you heard the sound of footsteps outside as it caught your attention and soon catching Caine's.

"…my dear ? are you alright ?"

"ah…sorry, I heard a sound…"

he looked back at the door that was still slightly open. with a singular movement of his hand it soon shutted on its own as Caine went back to concentrating on cuddling with you.

"don't worry about the world darling, just think about us, okay ?"

"hmmm…alright"

you nuzzled back into his arms, feeling his hand reach up, gently stroking and scratching your back as you let him give you some sweet little head pats with his other hand, returning the affection by rubbing his back gently. You two stayed intertwined like this for a long time, completely forgetting anything around you as you both focused on each other instead…unaware of the upcoming trouble you were about to suffer.

like usual, Caine hosted the small dinner for you and the others to eat after a long day and like usual you were sat next to Ragatha, wanting to be present with the other girls as well as Zooble and Kinger after your long secret cuddling session with Caine…although most of the time Ragatha had to include you into the conversation and anytime you said Something someone would immediatly talk over you afterwards, accidentally putting you to the side again…you could've guessed that you were better at listening rather than doing the talking…maybe that's why Caine liked you so much. despite the joyful atmosphere from them you couldn't help but feel a presence behind you, that one being Jax's.

"…soooooo…are we really doing this ?"

he spoke up firmly, making everyone at the table shut up. the others all looked confused as you didn't even look at him. Gangle started, gently leaning over her seat to look at his face that now had a wide, slappable smirk.

"…doing what ?"

"oh, I don't know, adressing the elephant in the room ?"

"…don't tell me you're still on that"

Zooble argued back, antennas twitching in anger as you tried to make yourself as small as possible.

"what ? not my fault you all are open arms over a traitor"

the others were all taken back by his words as you could feel his nasty, toothy grin and his stare right back at you.

"Jax what are you even on about ??"

Pomni called out, making the rabbit scoff

"oh, well…why don't we ask the newbie over here ! surely they know"

you didn't like this. you felt eyes all over you. all of them demasking you as you gripped the hem of your top, not looking up as you were already fighting tears from falling down. The others were all confused at his sudden reaction. He sure was annoying but they've never expected him to sound this cruel so suddenly…

"what did you do today huh ? who were you with ?"

"Jax, come on, leave them alone"

Ragatha spoke up, coming to your rescue as Jax ignored her completely, Moving forward where you could almost see his face as you could feel your hands shaking.

"I asked you a question you know ? at least have the decensy of answering me…you know before you got here I thought Gangle's obsession over her cartoons was pathetic but your case is a whole other level !"

"hey !"

"shut it ribbons"

he pulled on your chair, making you face him as you looked up in shock. he was grinning from ear to ear, eyes blown wide and staring you down like you were nothing. The others didn't know what to do nor what to say anymore, not expecting to see him like this.

"come on now, spit it out or I'm telling everyone my version…and I'm sure you don't want to deal with an angry Zooble now, do you ? they will all be upset once they leanr what you've been able to do behind close doors-"

"Jax ! that is enough, stop it, they look like they're about to have a panic attack !"

Pomni called out, all the girls were ready to jump out of their seats to defend you as he rolled his eyes when he saw tears rolling down your cheeks and falling to the ground.

"well if you won't…I guess I'll say it"

your eyes widened as he roughly turned your seat around for you to face the others as Grabbed your jaw tightly to make you look at the others, tears streaming down your face as the others all stood up, ready to push Jax off

"just so you all know, they've been using their little "tyrant's favorite" priviledges in order to get laid while we all get to be babied everytime we ask for anything outside of the filter…"

the others all stayed silent as they all looked at each other in confusion as you tried to defend yourself, already hearing you sobs made them feel bad for you as you couldn't muster a single word.

apart from your cries, the room was completely silent over the half truth that Jax had just dropped on the group.

"how…do you even know that ?"

Ragatha broke the silence first as the group now grew more and more concerned by the seconds. Zooble being the first one to connect the dots.

"…motherfucker, you stalked them ??"

Jax rolled his eyes. Of course they'd still worry about you even after that. He roughly let go of your face, letting your head slumb forward as no sound came from you.

"stalking's too harsh of a word Zoobie…I'd prefer more…that I searched around a little"

the whole group was stunned silent, glaring back at Jax like he was a madman and surely for that stunt he was ! suddenly out of the blue, your voice got heard in a soft crack, not even above a murmure.

"shut up…"

the others all went silent as Jax glared back at you before going back into his cocky persona.

"what did you say ? I couldn't hear you over your blabbering sobs-"

"I SAID SHUT UP"

you stood up, slamming your hands on the table, making the cutlery and glasses rattle as everyone was taken back. Immediatly alerted by the sudden noises, Caine appeard only to see the scene unravel in front of him : you, screaming at Jax while the others watched it all unfold, not wanting to interupt you.

"DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND HOW MUCH OF A THORN TO MY SIDE YOU ARE !? every day I have to wake up to you judging my every move and my every breath when you're not even better !! I've done absolutely nothing to you and yet you treat me like I committed the worst crime of the century ! you've pushed me off a cliff once, sabotaged me in any way you can during adventures, you even turned me into a worm once ! it's like I'm nothing but your stupid, pathetic little punching ball to throw around as you please…well I've had enough ! don't you understand how I feel everyday ? like I'm still stuck as a kid being kicked around for cheap laughs ? having to wake up, wondering what brilliant idea you came up with just to get a few laughs out of my suffering ? or maybe you just want me gone ? is that it ? IF YOU WANT ME TO ABSTRACT JUST SAY IT AND I'll GLADLY DO IT ! If that's what it takes to get you off my back then I'll jump off the next damn cliff near me in the next adventure so you won't have to push me, we'll see if you'll laugh at that as well !"

and with that, you ran away from the group, running as fast as you could to the hallway as the whole group was speechless. Those last sentences had wiped Jax's smile from his face as the others were now all staring back at him in anger and in stunned silence. Zooble was enraged as Ragatha immediatly went after you, followed by Caine who immediatly went after you and Ragatha.

"…good job…"

Zooble muttered with barely controlled rage as they walked over to Jax who simply looked away.

"not my fault they had to take it so seriously…couldn't take a simple joke-"

that made Zooble smack him across the face, now leaving a huge red hand print on his face as he coughed at the sudden violent act, looking back at the angry triangle in bewildered silence.

"are you Fucking serious !? YOU just caused them to have a mental breakdown and you just told us all that you went out of your way to spy on them and you still think it's their fault !? use you brain for once Jax and get you head out of your ass !"

"ugh- here we go ! go on and blame me for this- I don't care, nor do I even care about them and their pity story ! it was just for laughs and they're too much a sensitive crybaby to take it. Now leave me alone-"

Zooble's antennas vibrated in pure anger, grabbing him by the sleeves of his jumper

"from now on, you stay far away from them. You stay away from everyone and don't you even dare think of pranking or following anyone around here again. I'm not scared of beating you into a pulp-"

"let go of me !"

Zooble dropped him onto the ground, letting him fall onto his ass as they walked away, leaving Gangle to follow without giving him a single look. Pomni just stood there as everyone left, looking disappointed in him. He didn't look back at her as he got up and walked away from the whole scene.

Zooble and Gangle hurried towards the hallway where they could hear sobs coming from your room. They immediatly opened the door to find you in Ragatha's arms while Caine hovered worriedly, not knowing what to do.

"oh no…"

Zooble and Gangle both went up to you as you were clinging onto Ragatha for dear life. Caine looked absolutely confused…You were doing fine a few hours before, why was this all happening !?

"I-I…I don't understand…what happened back then ?"

Zooble looked over at Caine, almost feeling compelled into slapping him across the face like they just did with Jax earlier as they sighed.

"Jax has been bullying them ever since you two started going out…haven't you noticed ?"

his expression darkened at the realisation. So that's why Jax's tone of voice was so weird around you two, why he always found you tensed up after hanging around the rabbit and how you'd tense up anytime he's join a room…hell, now that explained why you wouldn't hug him nor get too close to him everytime Jax was still in the room…he just thought you were being shy…he thought Jax was actually okay with it or didn't seem to care so much. He should have seen it coming. Zooble just placed their hands on their face.

"…god why are you so dense ?"

"l-let's not start this right now, you know how I feel about conflicts, Zooble"

"yeah yeah, you're a coward, no need for reminders"

Ragatha looked over at the two of them, still holding you tightly as she spoke up.

"come on guys, now's not the time to fight…"

"oh ! yes ! right ! my dear !!"

Caine flew towards you as he took Ragatha's place by teleporting her to where he was next to Zooble. He gently held you in his arms in a bridal carry, floating a little towards your bed as you let him do so.

"it'll all be okay my dear ! I'll prepare something for Jax's misconduct for him to reflect on his actions."

"you better…"

Zooble grumbled under their breath as Ragatha looked over at them, seeing their antennas and their wing twitch and vibrate with some left over fustration.

"I-I'm sorry…I don't know what came over me…I-I…I didn't mean to-"

"do not apologize my dear, you have nothing to be sorry for…"

Caine held you even closer as Zooble, Ragatha and Gangle sat on your bed. Gangle gently placed a ribbon hand on you back.

"I-I should've said Something…or at least not overreact-"

"oh please, you reacted enough. He deserved it- if not he deserved more than just a quick shout"

Zooble said as Ragatha sighed

"yes…but please, promise us that if you feel down you'll talk to us…I'm scared for you, we all are, especially with what you said in the end…"

"what I…"

you soon panicked as Caine still kept you in his arms

"no no no I-I I'm not…I just… I Don't want to…I…"

you sighed at the sight of their faces. They didn't seem to Believe your claim and Caine still looked completely lost.

"…when Jax started pushing me to speak up…I just…my mind went back to memories I wish I could forget…and it made me snap…"

"you've been bullied before too…"

Gangle said softly, not as a question but as a fact…One she wished she didn't want to say out loud. You know from her expression that she must've gone through the same thing as you as you nodded, a few tears leaving your eyes and gently going down you cheeks as Caine settled down onto your bed, having you settled into his lap as he wiped away the streaks of tears that covered your face with his gloved thumb. Ragatha sat beside you two, still looking worried for you as you could almost see tears threatening to Spill out from her left eye.

"…just promise us you'll reach out if you ever need help, okay ? you matter to all of us."

"okay Raggie…"

you placed your head against Caine's chest, letting him gently pet the top of your head, his eyes softened into a sad expression as he felt guilty for not noticing it sooner. Zooble stood up as they crossed their arms

"Caine, you really need to do something about Jax. quickly"

"I-I'll come up with something ! just…as soon as my dear cheers up I'll implement it right away…"

he gently hugged you tightly, making a small squeaky toy noise come out of nowhere as Zooble sighed

"you better…we'll leave you two be…"

Zooble went out, Gangle followed as she waved you Goodbye. Ragatha stayed for a bit longer in order to make sure that you were truly okay and soon left you alone with Caine as he gently lied down in your bed with your head resting on his chest. You two stayed there in a comfortable silence as you simply basked in Caine's gentle hold. He sighed. It came out pretty shakier than he had wished as his voice began to crack a little from guilt.

"I'm so sorry my darling…I hope you'll forgive me… Zooble is…a bit right when they said I was dense… but then again understanding different tones isn't one of best skills…and really I didn't understand the growing tension between you-"

he suddenly felt your lips against his Bottom row as it snapped him out. You sighed, hugging him dearly.

"it's okay…I should have spoken up about it anyway…I was just too scared…let's just stay like this for a while…please"

"oh absolutely my darling"

with that he cuddled you closely, kissing the top of your head as you gently went to sleep in his arms, exhausted from it all and wanting to sleep your humiliation away as he kept you tight in the embrace, keeping you as close as possible, making sure you were alright and wiping any other tears that threaten to spill from your eyes.

the next day came fast as Caine decided to give them all another day to rest as you were still sleeping soundly in your room. Zooble and Gangle were together, both simply drawing and showing it to each other as Jax sat in a nearby couch, not facing the others at all. Soon enough, Caine appeard

"good Morning my estatic little pinecones !"

he greeted out loud like usual as Jax scoffed

"ah great, a new adventure, am I right Zoob ?"

Zooble gave him a silent warning glare, not wanting to deal with him, especially with what took place yesterday.

"…don't ever call me that again…"

"now now Jax ! now's not the time my furry fellow ! for I have selected a personal punishment for yesterday's confusing argument"

Jax looked up at Caine, now clearly pissed off as his ears went flat to the side in a pissed off manner. Zooble watched, entertained at the idea of Jax finally getting the consequences of his actions, just like he had said it before.

"are you kidding me !? you guys are still on that ?? give me a break !-"

suddenly, Jax popped out of existence as he soon appeard in a cage up in the air. He looked confused as he looked up to see a timer and letters…the time out corner ?

"…are you being for real right right now ?"

"alright ! for the next 57 hours, you will be left here to understand the gravity of your actions and once they'll be spent I want you to go and apologize for the harm you have done…for pretty much everyone here !"

Jax was speechless as he could hear Zooble cackling down below. They couldn't help it, watching him getting scolded like a child was very fitting.

"are you serious right now !? Caine ! let me out of this, now !"

"no can do my friend ! you reap what you sow, and with everything I've learned from everyone here, this punishment is very light from wha the others wanted you to get"

Caine's expression grew serious, placing his hands behind his back as he stared at Jax almost lacking any sort of emotions.

"…or perhaps I could teach you an actual lesson if you believe this one is already to harsh…"

a heavy silent ruled the place as he suddenly went back to his silly behavior

"ANYWHO- time to go see my beloved ! have fun !"

Caine disappeard, leaving Jax in the cage as he sighed.

"this is going to be long isn't it ?-"

suddenly, he got hit by something as he grunted, wiping his face as he got hit with a tomato ? he angrily looked at the ground, finding Zooble, Gangle and Kinger with a trolly to their side filled with tomatoes.

"…Don't tell me you're about to do what I think you'll do"

"come on ! it's fun, I forgot you hate fun"

"where did you even get these !?"

"Kinger's got a whole supply of them…even eggs"

Jax started panting out of anger, hands trembling around the bars of the cage as he soon noticed Gangle pick up a tomato.

"GANGLE I SWEAR IF YOU EVEN PICK IT UP,YOU'RE DEAD-"

not even caring about his threat, she threw it straight into his face, giggling maniacly as Zooble snorted a little

"nice shot Gangle"

"hehe…I always wanted to do that :3"

wait hear me out-

ok so not to forcefully adopt this idea as an au from @katzebruh or anything (because i'm unreasonably insane about it for some reason, literally a dozen other caine-centric AUs out there that are infinitely more complex and compelling and i picked this one, fuck it dawg we ball) but my headcanon is that caine genuinely was testing out modifiers and accidentally fucked up forever, if i had a nickel- and he's super conflicted about it...

because on one hand... he's a silly cat furry thing now and literally whats not to love? the humans like it and admittedly doing kitty things is really nice sometimes! chin scritches have never felt so good, honestly he would figure out how to get rid of it sooner if everyone wasn't enjoying it so much!

on the other hand... yikes... an unfixable bug? one that screws with his brain? stop me if you've heard this one before-
