I truly believe one of the reasons the Merlin fandom can never die is because there is so much to unpack. Every episode is like getting rapidly slapped across the face for 45 minutes and then being asked how many that was.

To this day I still find scenes that shock me because I've finally been able to make space for them in my head

It's never not funny to me that Leon, the most by the books Knight in all of Camelot, hears Merlin say "I need a crossbow to kill the king right now." And his first thought is "Damn Merlin is being funny as hell today" and hands him the best crossbow in the armory.
