Terfs can't read
And what I mean by this is that if terfs had actual critical thinking skills, nuance, reading comprehension, and learned about/discussed gender theory anywhere other than their Tumblr echo chambers, they would see how insanely reductive, misogynistic, and extremely Unhelpful To Literally Everybody their rhetoric is. No actual scholarly or academic discussion of feminism is going to take you seriously outside of Tumblr. Most real-life Feminists are going to shun you for your blatant transphobia and gender essentialism. Maybe if you actually took the time to interrogate and analyze your own words and ask yourself: "Why do I feel this way? What is the motivation behind it? What evidence do I have to support this claim? Is the evidence I use to support my worldview reliable?" This requires you to do some reading outside of your bubble on social media, which is what normal people do when they have a view they are actually passionate about (and not using it an excuse to be bigoted).
I am begging you, if you are on my blog to flame me for my anti-terf posts, PLEASE do something to educate yourself on intersectional feminism and actual Feminist scholarship. Please stop using Tumblr as your only source of information about gender and gender theory.
Maybe, and this is a pretty radical take, listen to Trans people talk about their life experience instead of being so far up your ass with your """"""gender critical""""""" rhetoric that you dismiss and defame the very real lived experiences of people out of nothing but sheer ignorance and prejudice.
The world would be a better place if terfs could actually read.
Edit: To those claiming this post is "abelist," a learning disability does not excuse you (or anyone else) from accountability for spreading bigoted ideologies. Saying that it is ableist to point out those who spread very harmful ideas about a marginalized group tend to not have a grasp on the subject is not valid imo. Further, most of what I wrote is not necessarily about literacy itself, but critical thinking and analyzing your beliefs with a critical lens. Also, if we want to talk about "ableism," Terfs ought to address their own beliefs about mental health first because I have seen some INSANE things (claiming all trans men have BPD and are delusional, making disparaging comments about trans folks talking about their depression/gender dysohoria, claiming being trans is just a mental illness, etc.).
