Someone shed more light on this please. Was it the 1970s the golden economic era where being materialistic was possible for literally anyone? Didn't this era end in the 1980s? I know on Tumblr we all want to eat the rich... However was this weird ass speech possibly a reflection of the modern mindset of the times? Did that generation really have enough money to dream of a yacht as achievable in comparison to the aftermath of ww2 followed by the great depression? The baby boomers were the most entitled generation because they were born into the golden era of economic growth. Wasn't it a time when a person could work their way to the top? The retired boomers still talk about it because it was real wasn't it?

Someone help me. Does anyone else see it too?
