"Stop looking at me like that."
"Like what?" Magui knows what. She just wants to see the exasperated pout that takes over Lily's features when she teases.
"You know exactly what I'm talking about."
Magui smiles as the pout appears. "I've got a pretty girl sitting in my lap," she gives a playful squeeze where her hands rest on Lily's hips, "doing my makeup, how am I supposed to look?"
Lily stops for a moment to cover her blushing face with her hands.
With a deep, calming breath, she returns to her task, steadying Magui's face with a dainty hand as she dabs at her lips with... something. Magui's lost track of the process, too enthralled by the expressions Lily makes when she's concentrating.
"Not like you want to eat me," Lily mutters.
Magui's not falling for the long-suffering act, the small smile on Lily's face is far too soft to be anything but affection. She feels her own grin stretch across her face, absolutely enamored with this girl.
Lily can't help but giggle, "Hold still, will you?"
Magui hums and does her best not to move a muscle.
"Okay, aaaaand... done." She sits back, inspecting her handiwork.
Magui flutters her lashes, "How do I look?"
"Beautiful," Lily's voice is soft, "but you always do."
Her words aren't tinged with sadness like they once might have been, long past their early days of comparisons and insecurities.
It used to get to her, the way people judged them together. At a first glance, it was easy to write them off as a bit of an odd pair; Magui the model and Lily the engineer.
They don't see Lily the way Magui does. Lily knows that now.
Magui pulls her girlfriend in to pepper her face with kisses, leaving behind lipstick marks across her cheeks.
"Magui!" Lily's protest is rendered rather ineffectual by the way her eyes scrunch with the force of her smile. "Now I've got to re-do your lips."
"Oh no, how horrible, whatever will I do," Magui deadpans.
