my mum is 66 and a wonderfully supportive parent of her two trans kids, going the whole 9 yards and everything and i love her endlessly for it. and b/c of my sibling she's been getting her head around they/them pronouns for the past 4 years and has it pretty much down!! BUUUUTTT the only side effect is that she's started theythemming my dad by accident. just all the time. he doesnt correct her. my dad is basically genderless now

Huge shout to my friend from an undergraduate philosophy program who started working out every single day, not for health benefits or to become conventionally attractive or whatever, but because -- and this is a direct quote -- he was concerned that otherwise he might "become lost in the world of signs and forget the things they signify". I have thought about this every single time that I've worked out since.

My family has started calling my cat "the beast" which is very funny considering she's a 19yo arthritic old lady who needs help up and down the stairs. Not to mention she doesn't really meow any more, just sits and stares at you, and im the only one who can reliably guess what she wants, so my parents are constantly messaging me "The beast awakens... I know not what she desires 😥😥" i feel like the chosen prophet of an eldritch god
