It’s already done a million times but I can’t stop thinking about a scenario where Cas comes back from the empty with a factory reset and also not remembering the confession. So you have Dean being excited and crying happy tears because Cas is back and now he can finally say I love you back and they can be happy together. Only for Cas to hold sobbing Dean who is clutching at him with all his strength and to go “what is this about?”
Thinking about this, what are the chances of dean choosing to not remind him? I mean Cas’s love killed him right? Yeah, I think Mr I kill everything I touch because I’m poison can just decide it’s better this way. And just be quietly miserable about it. What then?
But then they are both quiet and miserable because it doesn't erase Cas' love for him and then it's only a matter of time to see who breaks first because there is no end of the world scenario hanging over their head.
But now I have a whole list in my head about how it's Dean who finally breaks or is forced to break and ends up crying because he is mr broken and kills everything he touches

He is just building up the courage because during Cas' confession he tells Dean that he isn't just a killing machine and broken and that's when Dean finally believes it. He proves it when he fights GOD but suddenly he has a problem when he needs to prove it to Cas? What's up with that? Why is that 100x more terrifying?
