It's so strange to me now that exactly five years ago, you also moved in with me... Truly, you were extremely punctual, like a real lady at heart. Especially when it came to meal time.

I know you wouldn't want me to be sad, cause at such moments, you would deign to snuggle up against my thigh and purr so loud like a little engine in our little studio, trying your best to distract me.

Now the studio is quiet.

It's still hard for me to go near your grave without tears — even just to go near your grave, but I still remember what the fern you're lying under looks like. Too plain to be worthy of your eternal cradle.

I'm lulled by the thought that you're well-fed and well-off now, though it is quite possible that up there, someone constantly try to pet you, while you gracefully dodge them and complain to yourself that even in the afterlife, there is no peace.

I'm not ready at all. I'm not even able to draw right, I don't have enough time (｡・´_｀・｡)

I swear I have read a novel (or was it a fic, a trope???) with a plot that was somewhat like this, but I can't put my finger on it...

Still, my new headcanon is that this sort of narrative is a fever dream Cross had when he was sick in bed. (⁠＾⁠∇⁠＾⁠)
