To put it into perspective, you would have to have 7,000 extant theriotypes to make up even 0.1% of the current number of animal species.

And those are just the extant species, billions have gone extinct throughout the course of earth’s history.

Having a dozen, two dozen, or even 50 theriotypes really isn’t that crazy in the grand scheme of things.

A genutherian (or genutherianthrope) is a type of therian who identifies with an entire animal genus, meaning they feel connected to all species within a specific scientific grouping.

Example: like all true foxes (Vulpes), all wolves (Canis).

i get a lot of my collars from local pet stores , aliexpress (especially the velvet ones) , or i make them .ᐟ.ᐟ i've even thrifted old leather dog collars

i get my tails from etsy (dreamedgedesign , bontail) , and from pop-up store tents at festivals. adding on , i plan to make my own bontail sleeves

i get my ears from etsy (kirasfoxburrow , dreamedgedesign) and i make them too ᢉ𐭩

i buy my accessories (bone shaped things etc) from aliexpress , vinted , and in alternative stores when stocked :D i'm happy to live nearby a city where theres a good decent amount of alt shops :'3

for awhile I’ve kinda struggled with describing how I’m mainly a marten and a canine in some physical sense, feeling kinda weird about how I’m two species technically. With my other kins I’ve always been able to explain them as a part of my identity picked up as a coping mechanism or kinda just randomly spawning but they are mostly on some other level other then physical

But I think I figured it out

I believe I was definitely born a marten in some way, there was some internal fuck up that wired my brain different then it was supposed to be like, so I view my body as some form of mustelid and act very similarly to other mustelids. It’s heavily connected to my neurodivergence and neurological issues

I’m a canine because I was taught to be one from the media I consumed and the dog that raised me. It’s always been a bit more if a “psychological” identity because of that but I still view it as physical at least a good chunk of the time, likely due to dissociation, trauma, and just viewing myself as a dog for so long changing part of my brain to view myself as such

I’m like a goddamn nature vs nurture experiment

I was born a marten, but through external factors was made to be a canine

I’m so glad I have a way to explain this now-

I like cowboy canine, but I feel like it’s a bit misleading since I bring less attention to my canine identity, but I can’t think of anything marten/mustelid related

I’ve also been using this username pretty much since I began interacting with the community so I don’t wanna confuse anyone
