No dorm room pictures from me. My room is a freakin’ mess and no one on the internet deserves to see the chaos that is my DCD hammock. The desk I sleep at in the DLH library offices, however, is just a little bit less chaotic. I can’t believe it’s only day one, and I already have this many sticky notes.

every graveyard has its ghosts, but only here can you expect to find it home to biweekly tea parties. 

they scared me at first, the regulars. with their dark clothes, sharp makeup, and bright, curious eyes. part of me worried they were playing with something beyond anyone’s understanding. 

but from a student at a new school, that does sound silly, doesn’t it? what would my studies be if not a constant dive, until you can’t see the light of the surface anymore, going deeper and deeper even as every instinct down to the cells inside you screams to pull back? 

the tea is nice enough. i can’t see half the guests on account of their condition (read: dead), but the regulars told me i’d set a good impression. and if i kept coming, i was bound to get the sight. 

your eyes adapt, one had told me. like when you step out of your bedroom to go stargazing. the constellations unfold over time. 

they made death less frightening. in averno, that’s an achievement almost unheard of.

The late nights of swinging from hammocks in the dcd barn, talking with friends. Time moves so slowly as the stars spin overhead. Mountan dew, monster, and coffee lay half forgotten as we ignore how tired we are.

Are you getting ready for pumpkins and spice, magic and acceptance letters, secret societies and study blogs, and perhaps a cult or two?

This autumn, A New School is opening its doors once again. Come and explore our gorgeous 18th century castle (ignore the plywood at the back), meet your professors, sample classes, and get to know your fellow students.

From September 2nd to 12th, A New School will be having its freshman week online! Participate in class assignments, social media challenges, and livestreams to celebrate the new year.

So what does freshman week at A New School look like? On the weekdays, you’ll find department-based assignments that anyone can participate in, and on the weekends, there will be fun challenges themed around life on campusm

Students at A New School got obsessed with Tumblr back in ‘08 and… well, never lost interest. Instagram accounts are used to stay up to date on school happenings, but on Tumblr you’ll find the real secrets of A New School- the overheard blogs, the secret society recruitments, the banned clubs and crush pages, and, most importantly, the studyblrs that are a bigger determiner of popularity than money or fame (at least, in certain departments) (*cough cough* DLH). As you all know, or should know (by now), the concept album for Willow: The Musical is being released this Friday September 25th! To hype everyone up, we are releasing a little content related to this incredible music every day!
