IF I CAN DREAM…

'Steal' did really well and I think probably had better viewing figures than Amazon may have expected so anyone saying it wasn't a success is in denial. Was I expecting Emmy nominations - no. You just have to look at the shows the Emmys tends to nominate to predict what will get nominated and that isn't necessarily the shows that get the highest viewing figures. 'Succession' is a show that did well at the Emmys but it's final season didn't get higher than around 2 million an episode, there are shows with far higher viewing figures. It is more surprising Kit didn't get a nomination as 'Industry' is a HBO show.

Kit and Sophie not being nominated for an Emmy and Emilia’s show getting axed (also Jacob Anderson not getting any recognition for his show too)…. It’s undeniable GoT alumni who made it to last season have had a rough time since the show ended. I get there’s hype for them and their work on X but what’s popular on social media does not translate to a hit with viewers and critics (Steal is 79% with critics ratings - not terrible but not enough for nominations if the viewers aren’t there and growing after the premiere). Industry was good but sadly not at the level of Succession which it is often compared to

it’s disappointing that Steal and esp Sophie’s performance was not nominated for any Emmys. Amazon did not try to push for Steal when it did for other shows during the nomination period (it wasn’t part of the “for your consideration” marketing for Amazon) makes me hope they do a better job promoting TR esp during the award nomination period :(
