Meet my oc, Zero! I've been meaning to make them a proper introduction since making this blog XD
Zero has tourettes, causing them to glitch . this can make them say odd or sometimes rude things, and also looks quite unsettling to other circus members who have experienced abstractions before. (after all, glitching is one of the signs of abstraction!... But Zero doesn't know that...)
despite their horrible loneliness and depression, they mask quite well, only letting it slip when under the pretense they are alone.

“Awwww, how sweet… running right to Caine to save you. Well, Caine’s not here, is he?”
Jax smirked. “Just ‘cause it’s fun to watch, by the way- I’m sure you know that when I’m around, fun times are comin’- I’m gonna start rattling off a list of things that not only I hate about you, but what everyone else clearly hates. That oughta make ya feel better!” he sneered.
“Man, there’s a lotta things I could start with… lemme think… OH, I know! You’re a godd#mn demon, I swear to God- things were pretty ok before you showed up. But now, Caine suddenly thinks that, just ‘cause of his darling little doggy friend, ZERO’S ideas are the only ones that matter. Remember the other day when you decided it would be soooooo fun to go on a waterpark adventure, finding little clues on how to get out… all while little piranhas are swimming around because Caine told you there had to be a ‘challenge’ of some kind?” The rabbit shook his head, grinning. “That HAD to be one of the WORST adventures I’ve ever been on- you know how much it f$&king HURTS when those little needle fangs chomp and dig into your ankles? Oh, wait! You don’t! Because every time one of ‘em got a liiiiittle too close to you, Ragatha would give you a dolly-back ride and save your sorry, pathetic a$$ from getting bit.”
Jax’s grin widened, and his pupils shrunk- just a tad- in a clear sense of amusement at the verbal pain he was inflicting.
“And how about that pushover complex, huh? You’d climb the walls up and down a thousand times if our beloved ringmaster asked you to!” He laughed. “It’s insane!! You’re kinda like a REAL dog, aren’t ya? If he threw a tennis ball n’ said, ‘go get it’, you’d do it in a second. And then you’d be sooooo happy when you came back and he said, ‘good puppy, Zero!’”
He exhaled, then delivered one last sharp, stinging remark that actually made him inwardly cringe.
“Nobody would really care if you went missing, pup, because everyone pretends to like you. They HAVE to because Caine does. And CAINE HIMSELF? He’d be relieved if you did, because he’d never have to see your ridiculous face ever again.”
Zero stared at jax. It was almost eerie actually ;how they just took everything he said to them without so much as flinching. They even kept a small smile on their face, nodding along at some bits.
It was like they found it amusing.

...they really hated this little game of his. They had genuinely considered mauling him a few times, but when they realized that he'd just come back,they gave up on the idea of violence all together.
... maybe it wasn't so bad, anyways. They were always a little dramatic, right?
They hated the stuff about caine the most. He tried so hard on his adventures. It wasn't like it was his fault he didn't understand human pain or emotions.
(No matter how much caine could feel,hed probably never understand the human mind or body. Simply because he didn't have one.)
They held their blank expression well until

Their expression fell, just barely; the small smile they held dropped. Their body twitched, reminding them to regain composure .

He barely knows anything about who he's talking to. He's just trying to get under your skin- just don't react and eventually he'll give up.

“Heyyyyyy, it’s the lil’ doggie loser!” he exclaimed, purposely plastering a very obnoxious grin. “Y’know, you seem to be pretty quiet these days, pup. What’s the matter? Someone hurt your feewings?”

It was a long day for all of them
Zero loved the circus. The adventures were stressful, sure,but the wild and wacky was just part of the appeal..... usually.
....turns out, constantly ignoring your mental state has side effects. And they were about to hit Zero real hard.
They forced a smile,shoulders tense.
"it sounds like you're running out of insults there, bunny boy. Do you need me to get our precious ringmaster to give you some pointers? Im sure he'd love to spend time with you!"
A slight scowl grew on their face despite their teasing tone. Just a few more minutes. That's all you have to take.
Hng. Want to do zero angst but i think my ideas are too dark for the general roleplaying community i have here :(
I really wanna explore Zeros self destructive tendencies more, aswell as their suicidal thoughts and ideations, but i recognize that its a hard topic for many....
I haven't seen any spoilers for episode 9 (yay!) but i have seen an influx of jax hate on my feed suddenly
Which worries me. A lot.
Im telling you all now depending on where his character goes i can and will be retconning certain parts of his character if i decide i don't like them.
(I do want to try and write a fic of Zeros time in the circus and their attempt to fix and free everyone. Soooo....)

But i think the fact i made zero a dog, when one of their biggest characters traits is their loyalty,is kind of funny
Its also incredibly sad because that loyalty is often to a fault. (with caine in particular, but sometimes w characters like jax also)
they allow themself to be treated horribly, to be a doormat, a pushover- as long as it keeps things calm. if the circus is happy, they're doing their job right.
(but its not their job)

(zero is lightly singing "this little light of mine" , changing the lyrics to be about caine instead of themselves. They use their jacket sleeve to wipe the blood off his mouth, gently rocking him back and forth in their arms.)

Zero cooed, like how someone talks to an animal. It sort of sounded like they were teasing him....but they seemed to be enjoying themselves,too, since they continued petting him and hugged him a little closer with their other arm.

Zero kneels to caines height ,smiling a bit nervously. They wear a large jacket over their body now....large enough to fit two in, maybe?
"...heard some commotion about you uh.... chomping down on someone? Thought i told you to save the chomping to me, haha.... still, thought I'd check up on you. Can't have our precious ringmaster losing his head,now can we?"
The chuckle a little. Despite their joking comments,they look a bit more serious than usual. A bit protective.

[Caine looks up at Zero with tears that have been welling in his eyes, relaxing a fair bit at the sight at them.]
They gently grasped his lower jaw and started inspecting him
"hmm...well i don't see anything...."
They lifted his arms and looked under them, a grin growing on their face.
"...looks good to me. Oh, but i guess there is one thing i haven't tried..."
They paused for a moment, stopping somewhere just in front of his face, before grabbing him lightly to blow a raspberry into (what would be) his cheek. They giggle a little when they're done.
