"Oh crap!" The young man said, looking at his clock and realizing it was way past the time he was supposed to be up for class. Hopping out of bed, he threw on some clothes for the day, fixing his hair as he walked out of the room. He stopped in the kitchen to put some bread in the toaster. A couple minutes later it popped up, spreading some butter on it before grabbing his book bag and running out the door to class.
A small sigh escaped from the bluenetteâs mouth as she tapped her mechanical pencil against her notebook. The professor had been droning on about this one project they had to get done, and the directions were quite simple, as simple as the minds of her classmates it seemed. They were behind on their actual lessons that would help the project but seemed not to be able to process manageable directions.
Camille looked back down at the several doodles on her paper, she had stopped taking notes hours ago; she could attempt to read the textbook later in her dorm.Â
She set the pencil back to her paper before a loud noise caused her to break her quiet concentration, creating a chain reaction to break the last of the lead. With a huff, she picked up her small shoulder bag from between her feet and rummaged around for her small tube that held her pencil lead. The bluentte inserted more lead before dropping the tube back in her bag and setting it back down around her feet. Camille looked up to focus on the noise, a blonde male, who looked tiny from how far back she sat in the immense classroom and saw a petite blonde arguing with the professor about his extreme tardiness. Idiot. The class is only five minutes away from being over, she thought.Â
{â} â  â I â m so sorry Iâm late. It wonât happen again.â the blond tried to persuade. Holding his hands in front of him before the professor sent him to sit down. Since there were no seats in the front or middle he was going to have to sit in the only open seat in the far back. He let out a sigh, heading through the isles before sitting in the seat. He set his bag on the back of the chair, throwing on his glasses since it was the far back and hard to see. Before the blond had time to even get comfortable the familiar ringing of the bell sounded in his ears. âI just got hereâŚâ he whispered under his breath. Lifting his bag back off the back of his seat he set it on his desk, packing up the notebooks and textbooks he had just pulled out for this class. He stood ready to follow all the other students out when he noticed the person who he had been sitting next to hadnât moved yet. Deciding to see if they were okay he made his way back over to where he was sitting. âHey, are you okay?â He asked, bending over slightly to see if anything was wrong.
Camille had sat back in the bench that lined up and down in the classroom. She had closed her eyes, ready to take in the silence before she heard a soft voice intrude on her thoughts. Her eyebrows twitched as she opened her eyes as saw the blond from earlier peer down at her. His voice was so falsetto, it took her a second to realise it was a boy.Â
It was a question she had heard many times before, but for whatever reason she felt compelled to answer the blonde. Sitting back up, she laid her hands flat on the desk in front of her, impossibly blue eyes staring blankly at the leftover notes on the chalkboard at the head of the class.Â
"Have you ever felt your world stop? You sit there frozen in time and notice all the active people around you, taking in their liveliness when you feel the exact opposite? Almost as if you're a dead spectator to an alien world."Â
Sapphire orbs shifted to meet cornflowers before her pupils dilated and her state of mind came back to her temporarily. Realising what slipped from her mouth, she murmured, "Ignore me" and swiftly stuffed her notebook in her shoulder back before standing up and quickly hopping down the stirs to exit the classroom.Â
