PLATE THE SIXTH.
RIDING DRESSES, AND FASHIONABLE MILLINERY.
FIG. 1. — A mazarine superfine blue cloth habit, the skirt in full plaits all round; pointed corsage, quite tight and plain, with three rows of small buttons en cœur; blue velvet square collar reversed over the open lappels of the dress; cravat of plaid foulard (orange with black cheques), very lightly traced; balloon sleeves of moderate tightness from the elbow, and muslin Vandyked cuffs; round hat, the crown rather high, a peculiar shade of grey beaver; with lace veil and colleret; grey kid boots, and primrose gloves: the hair in flat reversed bands, low on the cheek.
FIG. 2. — A Spanish brown cloth: the body and sleeves exactly like the last described form: swallow tail points to the jacket behind, and white worked collar, worn over the velvet one of the habit; hat and veil resembling FIG. 1. The hair arranged in two plaits, reserved at the temples; the hat ties down with a narrow black ribbon.
FIG. 3. — A green Merino habit, pointed corsage, braided with black en cœur, and three rows of fancy black silk buttons, lapelled collar, lined with black velvet, thrown open to the centre of the corsage, and displaying a chemisette of fine cambric, frilled down the front; black silk cravat, showing a narrow frill of muslin above; gigot sleeves, with high cuffs, fluted to the wrist, and velvet points over them. Straw hat, the crown low, the brim compressed over the forehead, and rising at the sides in the old English style; white gauze, fixed so as to form loose brides in passing round the hat (which is also tied in a small bow on the right side); primrose boots.

EXPLICATION DE LA GRAVURE DE MODES.
Robe en taffetas vert glacé blanc, ornée en tablier de bouillonnés en étoffe pareille; corsage montant des épaules, ouvert dans la moitié de sa hauteur et arrondi dans la taille, orné de quatre bouillonnés se réunissant à la taille et formant continuation de la garniture de la jupe; manches justes avec parement orné d'un petit bouillonné. Manchettes en mousseline; guimpe en mousseline brodée. Capote en crêpe violet très-pâle, ornée d'une longue barbe de dentelle attachée de chaque côté par un bouquet de violettes de Parme.
Toilette de première communion. — Robe en mousseline, ornée de petits plis dans toute la hauteur de la jupe; corsage décolleté, froncé autour de la poitrine sous un poignet brodé; manches courtes, ouvertes et brodées. Guimpe en mousseline, coupée d'entre-deux brodés; manches longues en mousseline bouillonnée. Long voile retenu par une guirlande de roses.
Petit garçon. — Pantalon en coutil blanc. Blouse en velours violet, ornée de petits galons soie; manches demi-longues, ornées de deux galons; manches longues en batiste.
