Victorian fireplace - recolour №7 (??)
Here I present another amazing fireplace that I have recoloured!
Part of the Boreal set by @sundays-sims - I, personally, don't like exposed brick - so I wanted to change this to black cast iron; and so, naturally, I had to darken the wood as well!
A comparison of the original below, you can see I also coloured the firebox brick - originally golden:
My recolour has a total of 9 swatches - three different mantle/surround colours, with three different marble hearth colours.
I am so happy with how this came out! I hope you all like it!
Please remember to download the Boreal set here~

In this Roman mosaic, the Greek phrase for 'know thyself' is written beneath the skeleton figure.
The mosaic once decorated the floor of a tomb on the Via Appia in Rome. It was discovered in 1865 near Santa Maria Nova, in the vicinity of the Villa dei Quintili. Dating back to the 2nd century AD, the artwork is currently on display in the Terme di Diocleziano section of the Museo Nazionale Romano.
The inscription at the bottom, ΓΝΩΘΙ ϹΑΥΤΟΝ, is the Greek phrase γνῶθι σαυτόν, or gnōthi sauton. It translates to 'know thyself.' This saying was one of the ancient maxims associated with the Temple of Apollo at Delphi.
In a Roman context, this phrase didn't just mean knowing your character. It also carried another meaning: know your limits, know that you're human, and know that you're mortal.
That's why the reclining posture of the skeleton is significant. Resting against a cushion, the figure evokes the tradition of reclining that we recognize from Roman banquet scenes. However, this mosaic doesn't come from a dining room, but from a tomb setting on the Via Appia.
The concept of death wasn't foreign to Roman banquet and dining culture, either. Two silver goblets adorned with skeletons from the Boscoreale treasure serve as a similar reminder: conveying to the drinker that life's short and death is inevitable...
There's no lengthy text on this mosaic. The message is direct: to know thyself is also to know that you're mortal.

Bedside Oil Lamp & NightLight
A couple of weeks ago when I posted about lighting, follower Perfect Cyan asked about nightlights. At this point, I had never actually used a nightlight in game, and I couldn't find a candle or oil lamp which has the functionality (let-alone Off-The-Grid!).
I decided to take a crack at it, and I went about it a little differently than I usually do - and I shaped the glass from an EA item, and it included all this shinyshiny, and so we have it!
I have to keep myself busy; and, although I have already got a long list of things to do, as well as unfinished projects - this one captivated me enough to dedicate my time to it right away.
SO: I have done three glass colours: grey, white, and a frosted, sortof speckled glass. Each one has four swatches - one without a shade, and three with a shade:
This is Off-The-Grid and utilises my new lighting tuning - with 12 different interactions for all your lighting customisations! Completely Base Game Compatible!
If a child sleeps in a Single bed, there's a chance a monster will come out and wake them up. Usually they scream a bit, and then try get an adult to spray under the bed, but with a nightlight on, the monsters stay away completely!
Once they wake up, they'll get a Happy Buff!
I hope you like it!!!! I made like 7 or 8 different versions, and this is the final one - I am very pleased with!

"Châteaux Charm" Fireplace Conversion +
Update 25/01/2026: Corrected large occluder shadows when lit from above; added 12 swatches originally in the Secret Sanctuary fireplace file.
This lovely fireplace was included in the Secret Sanctuary kit, but I didn't like how modern the firebox looked, and I needed to put some WOOD there!
So, I have modified the firebox, added brick, a little stand with the firewood, and recoloured it for you!
It's base game compatible, so no need to buy the kit!
I've done eight different swatches - six wood, and two marble:
These pictures look really bad 😭 (they were really dark, so I tried to brighten them up better) I hope you like it, anyway!

Victorian Fireplace Recolour №9
(I think it's №9? why haven't I numbered these the whole time? who knows)
This one has been on my to-do list for quite a long time. By AnniQ, I always thought it was too dark, and you couldn't make out its features too well. When I started working on it, I finally could see the grate, and thought it looks so beautiful! I really tried to make it look realistically aged - but not sure if it worked: you decide!
SO: I changed the top mantle to white marble, and the back of the firebox into white tiles. I also accentuated some of the carving features, and tried to smooth some bits, and tried to tidy things up a little.
There's actually 11 swatches in total. Four of these I've done completely, and two of these are wood. The rest are AnniQ's original body colours, but with the new mantle, backing, and grate. There's a short and a tall version!
You can download AnniQ's original fireplaces here.
You may also ask about the shiny marble tiles I've placed under the fireplace in my home picture, I love these so much for in front of fireplaces; unfortunately it's in Chinese, and I can't figure out where the file is in my mods folder. Here's the information I have:
