i love the stories trevor is telling himself and how he frames the relationship!

at first he’a not even a character- jamie’s running late for all the reasons his greek family wedding run late

then he gets pulled aside and starts thinking about how it’ll look to everyone

then when he’s with jamie we see the story trevor is telling himself

he’s both holding out hope for 40 year old divorced jamie, and also so so commited to playing the Best Friend to jamie. anything that threatens his role as the jamie whisperer can’t exist in that relationship! trevor being like How Can You Ask Me That- he can’t answer and still play the guy he’s supposed to!

i particularly love the switch at the end where trevor goes from thinking about how it’d look if they hook up in the church to going all in. it’s like. oh this isn’t a story about brandon getting left at the alter. this is the origin story for my awesome romance. jamie being a runaway bride isn’t about her leaving somebody at the alter it’s about her running away with me!

the contrast of like. brandon telling this tragic tale of how he got left at the altar…winning the am i the asshole? reddit post. and trevor lowkey bragging about how romantic it is- to the point everyone but jamie gets sick of hearing about it- is soooo funny and delightful to me!

yessss, love the way you've broken this down. the stories trevor tells himself...... trevor loves to perform.... feels safe performing a role, and jamie is interrupting!
