When learning something new or honing a skill people will drill into you that you need to do the thing every single day to get better at it.
And let me be clear. In most circumstances? Ideal scenario. But we live in the real world and the real world has depression and screaming toddlers and 9-5 jobs.
It’s fine if you personally can’t do the thing every day. Just get back to it when you can. You don’t need to do something perfectly for it to be worth doing.
Ideally I’d be reading in Spanish for 2-3 hours a day every day. Am I doing that though? Hell no. I get maybe an hour of reading in there a week.
But you know what? That’s more than zero hours a week. That’s something. I’ve got other responsibilities and other projects. I’ve got the rest of my life to get better at reading in Spanish.
