ORIGINAL WIPS
this darkness swallows us whole ; the very first wip i ever started when i first began writing. it's a hot mess with too many uncompleted first drafts, but i love it so much. demons, gray morality, and one mute girl ready to start throwing hands.

I haven't seen anyone talking about this and just wanted to make a quick post on here.
Akihiro Miwa recently passed away peacefully june 20th, and was not only a drag queen and a queer icon, but also the japanese voice of Arceus in the movie Arceus and the jewel of life, as well as the witch from Howl's moving castle and Moro from Princess Mononoke.
Rest in peace and thank you for the wonderfull impact you made in this world.

Unrequited love but it's fine. A is head over heels with B who doesn't feel the same about A, but they're both ok with this and it doesn't ruin their friendship. A enthusiastically expresses their feelings for B, and B welcomes the sentiment but just doesn't return it
People around them keep expecting this to become a problem but it just doesn't. A doesn't expect B to start feeling the way they do and is happy with their friendship as it is. B isn't bothered by A's feelings or the expression of these because they know B doesn't expect anything from them that they can't give
(You can imagine this being about romantic love if you must but I'm aromantic so in my head this is about alterous attraction)
it never sits well with me when people associate beauty with morality like i remember when i was in my early 20s and my friends would compliment each other like “that’s what happens when you’re not racist—you get a banging body” or “you can tell she’s homophobic because of her ugly mug” like it’s never felt right to me. beauty as a reward or a virtue feels so bizarre to me. ugliness as a punishment feels so bizarre to me. it all feels like 19th century phrenology and physiognomy
The book you all need to read is Ugliness, by Moshtari Hilal, who writes about this exact thing and the origins of beauty as morality, and how it originated (as OP already says!) in racist discourse about physiognomy.
People act like there's an explicit line between friendship and romance like This is how Platonic Friends act and if two people act like That they are a Romantic Couple. Buddy I have crossed the line so far that it's actually surprising to me and it's still friendship
"being aromantic means you never cross The Line" well maybe I'm so aromantic that no matter how far I cross the so called line I will never enter the romance territory. Get on my level.
#I feel this #stolen tags: #sometimes it's the most boring way to have characters interact #sometimes it's worse than the chemistry they have as literally any other kind of relationship #sometimes their platonic dynamic is better #sometimes their hostile dynamic is better #sometimes their dynamic is better if it's anything other than romance #because maybe them falling into generic romance is how you ruin their characters.
