"How can I gain weight?" asked a friend from my favourite community in LA. "Why do you want to gain weight?" I wanted to know. "Because I am always fatigued and people tell me I need to eat more." "Do you feel stressed by any chance? Our nervous system can also make us feel tired," I asked. "As an autist in an anti-autism world, I am always stressed," she said. And so, I felt motivated to look into the matter more closely. What are potential energy drains for autistic people? Are there things they can do within this "anti-autism" world? I summarised my thoughts from the point of view of a mental-health aware mentor for doers who want to create a needs-aligned life. Since I am not autistic, though, I invite especially autistic people to comment on it. Do these questions help you identify energy leaks? Did they give you some ideas of how you can tweak your life here and there (without relying on eating more)? Wishing you all an energising life.
