I CANNOT STOP COMPARING MYSELF

sometimes you just need a game that feels like a hug. I was wondering what makes a game “comforting”

for me, it’s Elden Ring (yes, really) and Breath of the Wild

i really want to join a game jam with a team, but honestly… i’m a bit stuck.

i tried once before (reached out to a team) but they weren’t really looking for new people and it felt super awkward. i ended up quitting.

so far, i’ve only done solo stuff for itch.io jams. which is cool, but i’d love to try working with others too!

idk if that actually works but it’s still a great opportunity for indies

i just started a research on tutorial design and now i’m very curious: what’s a tutorial that totally lost you? or made you rage quit???

i kind of want to make a silly little game for roblox. nothing serious just something fun and weird. maybe chaotic.

but i’m wondering:

- does it even make sense to create a roblox game right now?

- is it a good space for tiny experimental stuff, or is it all about polished projects these days?

I was so surprised to know there’s an ipad version and (as redditors claim) it’s not only decent but super great.

can’t want to beat the game ~~~

after thinking about why korea has so few indie devs, i started wondering—what does an indie scene actually need to grow?

support systems help. local festivals. visibility. even just… time.

but also: a culture that’s okay with failure.

when making weird little games isn’t seen as a waste of time.

one thing that really stuck with me while researching korean gamedev: the indie scene is tiny. like, surprisingly small.

it’s not that the talent isn’t there. it’s that making a small game in korea is way riskier than going corporate.

big studios offer stability, social respect, and… health insurance. indie? not so much.

plus, the market is so dominated by mobile, gacha, and huge multiplayer games that a solo or small-team project can easily get drowned out.

When I was designing my own game, I thought some ideas were super obvious… but when I showed them to others, I realized they weren’t obvious at all
