What is there to say anymore?
Newspapers would like you to know that the people actively murdering jews are kind. He lost family in Lebanon, he makes a mean schwarma, he doesn't really hate jews.
The people who are "antizionist, not antisemitic" would like to remind you that this is all Israel's fault, anyways. If the jews colonizers didn't try so hard to hold onto their homeland conquered territory, maybe jews would deserve more pity.
I walk to my brother's apartment and I pass four shuls. Each one has two cop cars parked outside. The regular security guards, the ones that are always there, are on high alert. I don't know if this is because of yesterday's attacks, or if someone else has been attacked over shabbos.
My friend's little sister is making bomb shelter bingo cards, all the way in Israel. I think about forwarding one to my cousin, to my friend, to my aunt, but I don't. They haven't spoken about it, other than to say that they are safe.
I am not very good at feeling things. Emotions are hard to categorize. The one that I have been feeling lately is somewhere between anger and fear. It has been given to me by my ancestors.
don't think we can post our way out of this...
finding out that the occult evidence was faked is sickening. had owen woken up earlier, he could've left with louis—lived a life with him. yet, due to one simple tampering some group did to his lover, louis was doomed to die. owen doomed to lay there, grieving, fuming and starving all at once for 200 years in a hole. i can imagine him laying on the cold dirt floor—clutching his shoulders with his knees up to his stomach, eyes blown wide and tired. face constantly dried from tears, and his hair a mess. imagine if he still was a bit bloodied from his massacre, somehow.
referencing back to a post i did about how owen definitely sees louis in legundo, episode six only helps prove that point. someone so desperate to help, someone who is firm in their beliefs; but all humans are the same. a comparison was pulled between legundo and louis, had legundo been turned, he'd be someone who was so alike to louis that owen might've felt content. might've.
owen's breakdown as well after meeting with legs is incredibly heartbreaking. sobbing and heaving through the forest, apologizing and promising to his dead lover that he was sorry, that he wouldn't lose the last thing that was given to him by louis. that he'd still have something to connect himself to. something more than just memories.
i wonder if owen can even remember what louis' face looks like after 200 years?
I woke up with SO MUCH SUPPORT FROM EVERYONE!! Thank you! I've gotten so many donations, I have no idea what to say but THANKS!!!
Please don't forget to support other Mexican artists too!!!
(I would've done a prettier drawing but my tablet is really dying rn.)
Please don't worry about me. Me and my family ARE fine, we are scared but the state we are in isn't... THAT affected.
this might be TMI but where I live there's only been one car burned down... and the body of the Cartel's leader is right in the state where I live SO YEA- I'm still a bit scared that the narcos will come here and demand the body. Who knows with these people...
I'll use part of these donations to help other artists and friends who are in the states that are most harmed, thank you all SO MUCH. Thank you!!!

A detail I really appreciate while rewatching some of the cutscenes is how the game doesn't shy away to keep showing us Erik's struggle with his own insecurity. We know that he's a "young man" and if I don't remember wrong it's stated that he's around Henry's own age (Even though I myself sometimes hc him being older than Henry). And I like how the game keeps pointing it out in his behaviour. Nebakow is a really great example for that. He guides Godwin to Zizka and telling him him that Godwin is looking for Hans who is currently their captive, unaware that their cover had been blown by Henry mere minutes ago.
He smiled so satified with himself. For me it felt like that he thought he would be as sly as Istvan in that very moment, just for Zizka to immediately humble him and put him into his place, while also making clear that he is aware of what is going on.
I think that Istvan is rather aware of Erik's insecurity, which is why he tells him "You've grown into a very capable young man, but you still have to learn to fight for your place in the sun." Under Istvan's guidance, Erik is incredible capable of a lot of things. Yet he's young, and like Henry points out during "The Italian job" , a warrior with less experience than Henry, always surrounded by forces. Also unlike Henry, who had to undergo so many missions on his own. And the last point is something we already can see in KCD1. Erik is in charge in Vranik, surrounded by men, later during the "sneak" attack during the Talmberg siege, he once again was put in charge of a group of men.
The only time we see him, without anyone else is at the end, as he challanges Henry to the duel. And during the time, we find out that his mental situation had started to worsen since Istvan's death.
He always was someone who was pissed, yet soldiers discuss how that had gotten worse and I can imagine that he not only started to go against orders, but also started more and more to lash out against the men around him. As one of the soldiers talks about the fact that one of the others apparently went to him to complain but never left his tent afterwards. So it is save to assume that Erik's mental state had gotten so bad that his once insecurity had turned into frustration and anger that would even lead him into killing his own men. Istvan was the one who kept him sane, grounded and keept alive the part of Erik, the insecure boi he once was in Moravia. But with his death, that very part of him is gone. (And like in an other post mentioned, I think that very part of him was represented by the white dog in Maleshov)
Mickey 18, my beloved
As a system member that has to hold a lot of the anger and pain, and uses that to protect us, I really felt seen in 18's portrayal. It's easy to lash out, to destroy, to hurt, even yourself and others in the system. But after his initial attempted murder of 17, he really grew into a protector. A righteous source of anger. Against Timo, against Marshall. He stood up for himself, and for 17. Even if he didn't always think through everything.
I felt right there with him. Furious for them both, furious for the creepers, furious for Luko and Zuko. I cheered as he assaulted Marshall, I cheered as he sacrificed himself to save them all.
Mickey 18, I hated you when you first showed up, when you hurt your other, when you tried to kill them. You were trying to save at least one of them, so Mickey as a whole could keep on living, and you were the only one strong enough to do so. No matter how monsterous and heartless it seemed. However, I would be lying if I said I haven't done similar to us. In misplaced anger, in misguided rage. Like you said, though, it's not their fault. It's not their fault for how people hurt them. It's not their fault for how they cower and please to survive. You did right by Mickey. He needed you, and you needed him.
Rest well, hero.
