totally reminded me of this from LOST:

AHHHHH!!! The theories were right!!

I kind of wish I hadn't read the theories because that twist would have been AMAZING to experience on its own.

Even pretty much knowing it was going to happen, I was still like - it's HAPPENING!

And then Evan immediately being semi-responsible for a human sacrifice!! And the bell tolling eight times at the end!!

You know that brooch is going to come back somehow.

Matthew Rhys's acting was incredible. I also can't wait for Evan's actor to get to do more! And more Patricia, of course. And the drama between Bechir and Tom!

I wonder if the Sherrif's wife had her baby. I wonder if Ruth lived (I'm sure she did).

Now I'm wondering if the curse/magic powers have already passed to Evan, or if it's going to be a gradual thing. I kind of thought Ruth dying would be necessary for the powers to pass to Evan, but the old guy did say it was only relevant for male decendants?

I admit I wouldn't have thought of the Evan-is-the-descendent theory myself, but it makes perfect sense.

I think Ruth is a red herring of sorts, and Tom will kill her (maybe by accident in the end) and right before she dies, she'll say she had a secret kid, who either ends up being Evan's mom or Evan's grandmother, depending on timing.

She will have sent the brooch away with the baby, and the brooch will be in Tom's basement where he keeps his dead wife's things.

Once he learns this and Ruth dies right after confessing, Evan will start to become possessed with the island like the previous guy was.

It totally fits because it gives Tom an impossible problem to solve for the next season(s), and Evan is already kind of a troublemaker, galivanting around the island at all hours of the night.
