I spend hours editing photos on my phone when I’m board. Overtime I’d like to think I’ve gotten pretty good at it, but spending so much time altering my own appearance has made me more and more aware that what you see online should always be taken with a grain of salt. I’ve also become aware of how important it is not to post images of yourself or anyone else that have been drastically altered without stating that they have been edited. There is by no means anything wrong with playing digital dress up, but trying to pass of these images as a reality is setting unrealistic standards similar to those being set by some forms of traditional media. And I realize that there is nothing in the above photos I couldn’t have done in a few minutes with some makeup, but I I think they get the point across.
