Ok I just thought of an idea for a blog that I am not going to create but I wondered what other people think about it. Its purpose would be to make connections between fans. So people would write in (with non-anon asks) with things like this:
I'm looking for a beta reader
I need a Swedish speaker to check my Swedish
I'm new here and looking for older fans to connect with
Can someone please adopt me into their group chat?
I really want to learn how to make gifs, can anyone help?
Etc! The blog owner would post them and then people could make connections if they wish.
Would this be useful? I don't know. Just putting the idea out there!

I remember a firefighter AU wilmon fic where they gently clean each other up and have hurt/comfort sex after not knowing if the other is dead or alive. could someone find it for me?
Announcing the first ever Young Royals Masquerade Ball!
Don't worry, no need to write any love sonnets or don poufy trousers and a cravat to join in! Our Masquerade is a guessing game that everyone can take part in.
Creators will post works anonymously on AO3 before the end of January. These works will be then revealed on Saturday 31st January, and everyone will have one month to read/view the works and then guess who's behind each mask - that is, who created which work. Creators are encouraged to try and hide their identity!
As there was enthusiasm for including fanart as well as fanfic in the poll we ran, this will be a mixed event where both are welcome.
Details on how it all works and how to take part are under the cut, and please spread the word.
KEY DATES
Sat 31 Jan - submission deadline for posting works
Sun 1 Feb (19:00 UTC) - works are revealed and guessing starts
Sat 28 Feb - deadline for final guesses
Sun 1 Mar (19:00 UTC) - creators are revealed
Winners announced shortly afterwards!
Please note we reserve the right to change these dates or extend the guessing period if we get more works than expected.
Requirements
To take part as a Creator, you need to submit a new work to the AO3 collection, following the instructions below. All fics must be between 1,000 and 5,000 words. For art, there are no restrictions.
Please submit one work only. Multi-chaptered fics are fine, but it must be a complete work by the deadline and within the word count overall. And it probably goes without saying, but the use of AI to create your work is not permitted.
There are no themes or other restrictions for this event. If it's Young Royals related, it's allowed. Do remember however that this is a guessing game and that the aim is to have as many people as possible check out your work while it's still anonymous. If your work is very niche, fewer people may view it - and you might also give your identity away if this particular niche is something you're known for.
Whatever you create, please tag appropriately, including any content warnings.
Sign-ups/how to take part
To take part as a Creator, you will need to sign up to the event. Sign ups are mandatory and a two part process:
To take part as a Creator, first submit your work directly to the AO3 collection as outlined in the Posting Instructions below by 31 January.
Once you have submitted your work, you then need to fill out this sign up form so we have your details. Please do this after posting your work to the collection and not before - this helps us keep track.
To take part in the game as a Guesser only, please skip the next section and read on to the 'Guessing' section.
Posting instructions
Posting will be done on AO3 and AO3 only! This is to ensure the anonymous part works smoothly. If you don't have an AO3 account and would like to take part, please drop a comment here or message the mods - we have a few spare AO3 invites we can share.
You will need to post your work directly to the YR Masquerade 2026 collection, which is currently anonymous and unrevealed. Please do not forget this step!! If you don't post to the collection, your work will appear in the fandom works page as normal and your subscribers will get an email, giving away your identity.
You must post your work by the end of Saturday 31 January. The collection will then be revealed at 7pm UTC on Sunday 1 February, making all the works public but still anonymous. (The gap is to account for different timezones and to sort out any issues before go live.) The works will remain anonymous until Saturday 28 February, when the game ends. (As noted under Key Dates above, this could be extended if necessary.)
On 1st March, the anonymous period ends and the creators' identities will be revealed. Your fanwork will appear automatically under your account just like any other, your AO3 subscribers will get a notification email, and you can then reply to comments and cross-post to Tumblr or anywhere else as you choose.
Please do your best to stay anonymous until this point! Don't post any snippets or hint anywhere about the kind of work you've created, and if you use a beta reader, swear them to secrecy too. The guessing game is more fun if everyone's in the dark together.
Be careful with commenting too - leaving comments on other works but not your own could be a big clue to your identity. If taking part as a Creator, we recommend waiting until the anon period is over before leaving comments on other works or replying to comments on your own work. If you're taking part in the guessing only, do please leave comments as normal!
How to post to the collection
There are two ways to do this:
Go directly to the Masquerade Collection page and click on the 'Post to Collection' button. This will autofill the collection name in the posting form.
Go to 'Post New Work' as normal and fill in the collection name manually under the Associations section of the form. Unfortunately the name isn't appearing as an autofill option for some reason, so you will need to type it in as in the picture below (or copy and paste Young_Royals_Masquerade_2026 including the underscores).
We recommend option 1 as it's important to make sure that the collection name is exactly correct - if there's a typo, it won't work and your identity will be revealed. It's also important to do this when posting and not after, or it won't work. You can go to My Works > Works in Collections to check everything looks correct once posted.
Guessing
Everyone can take part in guessing, whether you posted a work or not! This will be done via a new form - the link will be posted separately once the works have been revealed on 31st January, so keep an eye out for that.
The form will list all works posted for this challenge. For each work, you will choose three options from a list for who you think the creator is. All three guesses are mandatory for all works. If you don't know who to choose or you haven't had time to read every fic, then take a guess! Even if you think you know who the creator is, using all three guesses will still increase your chances of earning points.
Points
There are two ways of winning the game; as a Creator and as a Guesser.
Creators are awarded 1 point for each person who correctly guesses their work on the first try, 2 for correct second guesses, 3 for correct third guesses, and 7 points for each person who wrongly guesses (that is, if they guess three different people who aren't you). That's right, you get a big boost in points if you can manage to successfully fool everyone.
Guessers are awarded 5 points for each work they guess correctly on the first guess, 3 points for each correct second guess, and 1 point for each correct third guess.
Creators can be guessers too, so twice the chance of winning!
Prizes
Winners will get boasting rights of course! And a post celebrating their victory.
If anyone would like to offer a prize for the winners - art, fic, crafts, anything like that - that would be awesome, please let us know.
Any questions not answered here, please let us know. Have fun!

We have announced it previously, but now it's here! Young Royals Week 2025 is coming soon!
From January 20 to January 26, there will be a prompt each day of the week. Create something out of that prompt and post it on the corresponding day. Prompts can be merged together and you can post days later, we only ask to not post ahead of schedule. We will reblog your posts during the whole duration of the event.
We accept all sorts of things! Fanfictions, fanart, drabbles, gif sets, edits, headcanons, moodboards, analysis, anything! You can also include a wip, new or old, if it fits!
Also, since it's a Young Royals event, you can use any characters or ships!
You can also post to theΒ AO3 collection.
Guidelines:
Use the tag #yrweek2025 when posting and tag us in the post (@youngroyals-events);
Indicate which prompt you are using;
Indicate any warnings if there are any;
Adult content is accepted but should be properly tagged (we will use #nsfw when reblogging);
Post on the day of the prompt or after, not before.
And here are the prompts:
January 20: Playlist (song-inspired)
January 21: Before/after (before the show started or after it ended, pre or post-canon)

Soooo suddenly google docs can't open the document where I have all my kinktober fics in, including the more than 6k one I wanted to post today...
If I lose this one I will actually lose it cuz I've been working on it for so long and it's the photography wille one. Can someone help me with this cuz I'm actually panicking.
Hey everyone! As of today we are LESS THAN 50 fics away from reaching 5000 fics in the Simon Eriksson/Wilhelm tag on ao3 β€οΈπ₯
I was thinking we could organize a mini-event to celebrate Wilmon hitting 5000 and our awesome fic writers in a couple ways. I've put some ideas together from reblogs and my own head.
- rec'ing your fav underrated fics
- a comment-athon where you go comment on your fav fics
- reblogging fic rec lists our amazing readers have already made
- making more themed fic rec lists π
If anyone has other suggestions feel free to reblog or pm me! I will make a poll with all the ideas. This could also be a writing event, but I don't want to take away from the awesome work of @youngroyals-events and Kinktober, since we may hit 5k during this awesome event! π€
If anyone is interested in helping me plan, pls let me know π
For our first YR Kinktober, we thought we'd do it bingo style! Full explanation below.
If you haven't taken part in a bingo type challenge before, the rules are very simple: it's just like regular bingo but with no prize at the end. (Except bragging rights or that warm glow of satisfaction of course!) You mark off a square on a bingo card by posting a fanwork that fills that prompt.
Rules and guidelines are behind the 'Keep reading' link.
Bingo rules:
You can choose any card (A to E) you like, or more than one if you're feeling brave.
There's no minimum number of works to participate, and no requirement to fill a whole card - if you post one work, that's a win!
Equally, there's no maximum - feel free to post as many works as you like.
It's absolutely fine to combine different prompts into one fanwork as well.
'Free space' is creator's choice - you can steal a prompt from another card or do your own thing altogether.
BINGO is a row of three (down, across or diagonal) on one bingo card.
FULL HOUSE is hitting all nine squares on one bingo card.
SUPER BINGO is getting a row of three on two or more different cards.
Or if you're feeling really inspired (and don't need food or sleep!), ULTRA BINGO is a full house of nine on more than one card.
Just don't forget to post your completed card(s) and brag about it at the end of the month so we can all see how you've done!
General rules/guidelines:
All types of fanworks are welcome! Fics, art, edits etc. or anything at all.
This is a fandom-wide event, not Wilmon-specific - though Wilmon focused works are welcomed of course! Your works can focus on any of the characters/pairings/polyships from the world of Young Royals. And no need to stick to one set of characters or ship on your bingo card either, you can mix it up as much as you want.
You can post your works on any day within the month of October, in any order.
You can post your works directly to Tumblr, or post them to AO3 and link them on Tumblr.
Remember to tag us (@youngroyals-events) in the body of the post so we can reblog it.
We will set up an AO3 collection for you to post your works to.
Kinktober is traditionally focused on explicit works but any and all ratings are allowed if it fits the theme.
If you are posting an explicit work, please use the tag #NSFW and we'll do the same when we reblog.
For fanart, please tag it #NSFW and follow Tumblr community guidelines so that people can avoid the post if they want to. You may want to use a cut/read more or add a mature content warning.
For fics, please include tags and/or warnings for everything they contain. This makes it easier for those who want to read the things you've written to find them, and for those who don't to avoid them.
Any questions on any of the above, please leave a comment on this post or in a reblog (that's easiest for us to see and respond to the question quickly).
Anya is live and ready to show you everything. Watch her strip, dance, and perform exclusive shows just for you. Interact in real-time and make your fantasies come true.

Ok. Listen. I assume some/most of you know 'cards against humanity'?
@pagegirlintraining and I are going to make a Young Royals fan version called 'Cards Against Hillerska'.
It's supposed to be mainly about the show, but we'll include some fandom things, too.
And we need your help to fill the cards!
We're especially looking for
text for the blank space cards (can be inspired by the original game or just by the show/the fandom; i.e. 'I love YR as much as Simon loves ____')
locations (i.e. 'the royal palace')
things (i.e. 'the purple hoodie')
fragments to fill in the blanks; if there's a verb it should be in the "ing" form (i.e. 'buying a horse')
Or send us entire statements that you think will fit the format and we'll take them apart. (i.e. 'I ship Jan-Olof with' 'the royal tailor')
If you have suggestions, drop them in @pagegirlintraining's or my inbox. Ideally in a somewhat orderly fashion so it'll be easier for us to transfer them to our spreadsheet.
We'll share the printable doc of the finished game with you (we'll figure out the best way to do that until then) when it's done, so everyone can play.
I think it's going to be hilarious. I just randomly read "Omar's slutty waist makes me cry like a baby" across the spreadsheet and I might still be laughing.
is there a slim slim chance that someone has or knows of someone who has a ticket for Omar's NYC concert they're selling?? π₯Ίπ₯Ί I'd owe you my soul if so
