Wille is mostly happy with his life – he has a home, a fiancée who loves him, and he has made peace with the fact that he will one day be king. It isn’t the life he’d have chosen for himself, but it’s the life he has nevertheless. And then he meets Simon – beautiful, bright-eyed Simon, who’s writing Wille’s biography, and in doing so, turns his world upside down. Wille finds himself feeling things he’s never felt before. But will he do what’s right? Or what his heart tells him to do?

Glimpses of a life spent together, of finding home in each other's arms. Or: a collection of ficlets for Wille's Month 2024, all set in the same post-canon verse. Very little plot, just fluff and maybe the occassional angst. When Simon, an editorial assistant at one of Sweden’s most prominent commercial publishing houses, stumbles upon a manuscript sent in by a mysterious W. Viklund, he doesn’t expect it to be any good. He certainly doesn’t expect to fall in love with it, or that the author is kind, and funny, and witty and keeps distracting him from his work. Simon looks forward to every new message sent by W., every cat video that he’s found somewhere online. It isn’t long until butterflies fly rampant in his stomach and he can’t stop thinking about W. It’s so easy to talk to him, as if they’ve known each other for years. Only thing is, they haven’t… right? Or: a story about teenage romance, second chances and falling harder than you’d ever thought possible.

All Wille wants is to go ice skating with Simon, visit Christmas markets with Simon and bake gingerbread cookies together. But when Simon gets detention two weeks before Christmas, all their glorious holiday plans are thwarted. And that simply won't do. Or: 5 times Wille tries to get detention to be with Simon, and the 1 time he succeeds.

Simon never thought long distance would be easy. But it's especially difficult when his boyfriend doesn't answer his fucking phone. Or: Simon gets drunk and tries to call Wille, but it's not very succcessful.

Wille returns to Hillerska for the first time after his speech at the jubilee. He and Simon get ready to face the crowd (or their classmates) hand in hand. Or: a short story of two kisses. One for them, and one for the world to see. (aka my take on the library scene)

Now that Wille has stepped down, Simon can finally take Wille with him to protests. The first one? A march against climate change. It has an interesting side-effect.

Even though Wille stepped down from the throne, he's not fully exempt from attending events the court organizes. So, he and Simon decide that if they have to go, they might as well have a little fun with it, right?
