妖怪大魔王の囁き

今日（6/17）の交通公園を撮影しました。すぐ横にある橋の上からです。 I took photos of the traffic park today (June 17th). These were taken from the bridge right next to it.

2年半前、初めて観た時の画像と較べて、草の青さ以外、あまり大きな違いは見当たりません。 Compared to the photos from when I first saw it two and a half years ago, there aren't many significant differences, except for the greenness of the grass.

河川敷の中、ちょっと不思議な光景ですが、僕にとっては魅力的でした。 しかし、公園の中に入ると、僕にとっては悲惨な路面状態でした。 It's a somewhat unusual sight in the middle of the riverbank, but it was fascinating to me. However, once inside the park, the road surface was in a terrible state for me.

だから、2024年3月、路面清掃を始めました。 しかし、公園は広く、土砂堆積は酷く、シャベル1本、ホウキ1本では、一日に出来る清掃は僅かです。 That's why, in March 2024, I started cleaning the road surface. However, the park is large, and the accumulation of sediment is severe, so with just one shovel and one broom, I can only clean a small amount in a day.

でも、例え、橋の上から観て変わってなくても、路面状態は確実に良くなっています。 そして、2年半前と較べて、利用する方も増えている気がします。 だから、一般道での不幸な事故を減らす為に、これからも続けていきます。 But even if it doesn't look different from the bridge, the road surface is definitely improving. And compared to two and a half years ago, I feel like more people are using it. Therefore, I will continue this work to reduce unfortunate accidents on public roads.

【 追伸 / Postscript 】 この撮影をしている時、生まれて初めて、“エイ” を目撃しました。 川の中で黒い影の様に泳ぐ姿でした。 初めは見間違いかと思いました。 しかし、左右のヒレ（？）をはためかす様に泳いでいました。 While taking these photos, I saw a stingray for the first time in my life. It was swimming in the river like a dark shadow. At first, I thought I was mistaken. However, it was swimming with its fins (?) flapping on both sides. 調べると、瀬戸内の海の海水温上昇に伴って、暖かい海の「エイ」の目撃情報も増えている様です。 そして、ここは河口から 3-4㎞ 上流の汽水域です。 彼らの好む二枚貝などの水棲動物も多い場所です。 また、出会える事を願っています。 でも、撮影しても、良い画像は撮れそうにありませんね。 Upon researching, it seems that sightings of rays from warmer seas are increasing due to rising seawater temperatures in the Seto Inland Sea. And this is a brackish water area 3-4 km upstream from the river mouth. It's a place with many aquatic animals, such as bivalves, that they like. I hope to encounter it again. But even if I tried to photograph it, I don't think I'd be able to get a good picture.

開催していたイベントの記録をWebサイトに追加しました。 1994年12月に、『特別練習会』を開催していたのですが、Webサイトを構築した際、何故か記録から漏れていたのです。

6月12日、赤穂市の交通公園の路面清掃作業は、路面が最も傷んでいる「ロータリーエリア」の清掃9日目で、今回も草たちが呼び寄せた土の除去作業になりました。

2020年6月、COVIT-19（コロナ禍）で世界が恐怖に包まれた頃、僕はその状況に正しく対処する為、世界中から正しい情報を集めて多くの人へ発信していました。当時は、大変な時期でしたが、世界中の人々がお互いに共感し合っていた頃でした。

In June 2020, when the world was gripped by fear due to COVID-19, I was gathering accurate information from around the world and sharing it with many people in order to deal with the situation correctly. It was a difficult time, but it was also a time when people all over the world empathized with one another.

しかし、今は、全世界が直面している環境や人権、エネルギー問題など共通の課題に対して、世界の権力者たちは個々の思惑で動き、身勝手な嘘を平然とつき、武力を行使して市民を大量に虐殺し続けるなど、当時の様な一体感は感じられません。本来は、あの当時に見えていた『世界市民』こそが世界の主役だと自覚して課題に立ち向かうべきだと私は信じています。

However, now, regarding the common challenges the whole world faces—the environment, human rights, energy problems, etc.—the world's power holders are acting according to their own motives, telling selfish lies without hesitation, and continuing to use force to massacre civilians. The sense of unity we had back then is nowhere to be seen. I believe that the "global citizens" that we saw back then should recognize themselves as the main actors in the world and confront these challenges head-on.

路面清掃報告「草の根」/ Road Cleaning Report: "Grassroots"

6月4日、赤穂市の交通公園の路面清掃作業は、路面が最も傷んでいる「ロータリーエリア」の清掃8日目で、今回は “草の根” による破壊の進行がよく理解できるエリアでした。

On June 4th, the road cleaning work at Ako City's traffic park was carried out in an area where the progression of damage caused by "grassroots" activities was clearly evident.

1か月以上、“心房細動”の発作が無かったので、油断してしまいました。引き金になったのは「スナック菓子」です。 I hadn't had an atrial fibrillation episode for over a month, so I let my guard down. The trigger was a snack food.

今回は、『最適チェーン調整』や『リアサスペンションユニットの装着』、『前後ホイールの整列』までの整備動画撮影と画像撮影を行ないました。記事と動画の完成をご期待下さい。

僕の寝室の隣に、今年も新しい恋人たちがやって来ました。 New lovers have moved in next to my bedroom again this year.

寝室の窓の横、庇（ひさし）の下の新居にです。 It’s the little home right next to my bedroom window, tucked under the eaves.

去年やって来た「コシアカツバメ」のカップルは二組でした。 最初のカップルが左の長細い新居を作り、後のカップルもそれに入りました。 でも、今年は状況が変わりました。 昨年の新居を「スズメ」のカップルが奪ってしまったのです。 だから、渡りで遅くやって来た「コシアカツバメ」たちが、右の新居を作ったのです。 「スズメ」が「コシアカツバメ」は棲息環境が重なっていて、「スズメ」は「コシアカツバメ」の閉鎖的な巣を好み、しかも、渡りをしない関係もあって、繁殖時期が早いので、「コシアカツバメ」の巣を奪う事はよく知られているなど、ちょっとしたライバル関係なのです。だから、「スズメ」たちが営巣を始めたので、今年は「コシアカツバメ」たちは僕の所へはやって来ないかな？と思っていたのですが、驚いたことに、「スズメ」の住む巣のすぐ隣に大きな巣を作ったのです。意外と、仲良くできるのですね。 今日、「スズメ」の巣からヒナたちの鳴き声が聴こえてきました。 「コシアカツバメ」の新居からは、二人が一緒に外出していきました。 今年は、昨年より賑やかな毎日がやって来そうです。 Last year, two pairs of red-rumped swallows came to stay. The first pair built a long, narrow nest on the left, and the second pair moved into it too. But things are different this year. A pair of sparrows ended up taking over last year’s nest. So the red-rumped swallows, who arrived later because of their migration, built a new nest on the right. Sparrows and red-rumped swallows share the same habitat, and sparrows actually like the swallows’ enclosed nests. Since sparrows don’t migrate and start breeding earlier, it’s well known that they often take over swallow nests. So the two species have a bit of a rivalry going on. So when the sparrows started nesting, I wondered if the swallows wouldn’t come to my place this year. But to my surprise, the swallows built a big nest right next to the sparrows’ place. I guess they can get along better than I expected. Today, I heard the chirping of the sparrow chicks from their nest. And from the swallows’ new nest, the pair flew out together. It looks like this year is going to be even livelier than last year.

殆どのオートバイに使われているチェーンは消耗品です。30年以上前と較べると、耐久性能は向上していますが、やはり、走らせるほどに消耗・劣化が進み、オートバイの走行性能や操縦性は劣化するので、劣化状態に合わせて交換が必要な部品です。

Chains, used in most motorcycles, are consumable parts. While durability has improved compared to over 30 years ago, wear and tear still progress with use, degrading the motorcycle's performance and handling. Therefore, replacement is necessary depending on the degree of deterioration.

『チェーンとスプロケットの交換』の “撮影イベント” 開催に備えて、チェーンの「ジョイント」の撮影と測定を行ないました。 In preparation for the "Chain and Sprocket Replacement" photography event, we photographed and measured the chain's "joints."

ご存知の通り、チェーンには “サイズ” と “シールの有無”、“ジョイント方法” などで幾つかの仕様がありますが、その プレートの厚さや リンクの重さなど、詳細な事は意外と知られていません。そこで、今回は 10種類の「ジョイント」を測定して一覧表にまとめてみました。撮影した画像と一覧表を合わせて、チェーンについて役に立つ解説記事の作成を行ないます。 是非、ご期待下さい。 As you know, chains have several specifications, such as "size," "presence or absence of seals," and "joint method," but details such as the plate thickness and link weight are surprisingly not well known. Therefore, this time we measured 10 different types of "joints" and compiled them into a list. We will use the photographed images and the list to create a helpful explanatory article about chains. 先日、「チェーンとスプロケットの交換」を記事解説する為に、その作業の映像と画像撮影を行なう『整備イベント企画』の発表を行ない、関心のある方からの要望を募集してきました。そして、それらの要望や提案も参考に、イベント企画内容の詳細がまとまりましたのでご覧ください。 Recently, we announced a maintenance event to film and photograph the process of "chain and sprocket replacement" for an article we're writing. We've been soliciting requests from interested individuals, and based on those requests and suggestions, we've finalized the details of the event. Please see below.

チェーンとスプロケットの交換の作業は、決して難易度の高い作業ではありません。しかし、【 最適なチェーンの “遊び”調整 】や【 ホイールベアリングの確認と給脂 】、【 前後ホイールの整列 】など、同時に行なう事で オートバイの寿命を延ばし、乗り易さを向上させるなど大きな効果が生まれます。イベント企画では、それらの点についての解説を行ないますので、どうぞ、関心のある方はご期待下さい。

Replacing a chain and sprocket isn't a particularly difficult task. However, performing these steps simultaneously—such as adjusting the chain's "slack" to the optimal setting, checking and lubricating the wheel bearings, and aligning the front and rear wheels—significantly extends the lifespan of your motorcycle and improves rideability. The event will cover these points, so please look forward to it if you're interested.

撮影イベントは、動画と画像の撮影内容が多い為、3日間に分けて行なう見込みです。 Due to the large amount of video and image footage required, the filming event is expected to be spread over three days.

5月25日、赤穂市の交通公園の路面清掃作業は、路面が最も傷んでいる「ロータリーエリア」の清掃7日目で、予想以上の損傷が確認出来ました。 On May 25th, the road cleaning work at Ako City's Traffic Park continued for the seventh day, focusing on the "rotary area," where the road surface is most damaged. The damage was greater than expected.

『 路面の深い溝 / Grooves in the Road 』 前回もお伝えした通り、この『ロータリーエリア』は、路面の浸食・崩壊が最も進んだ区域で、過去に、路面補修がされた跡が多く残っています。きっと、このエリア特有の事情や原因があっての事だと思われますが、今回の清掃の結果、補修の後でも植物などによる路面の浸食が進み、深い溝へと進行してしまっていました。 As previously reported, this "rotary area" is the area with the most advanced road surface erosion and collapse, and many traces of past road repairs remain. However, the results of this cleaning revealed that even after repairs, road surface erosion by plants and other vegetation has progressed, resulting in deep grooves.

『 補修路面との境に / Along the Boundary 』 後に補修された路面補修は、円形に並んだ、ローターリ外側の縁石にそって、幅約40㎝ にわたって行なわれています。そして、当初からのアスファルトとの継ぎ目に沿う様にして植物たちが繁茂していましたので、その植物を根こそぎ除去したところ、予想外に広くて深い溝が現れたのです。 The later road surface repairs were carried out along the circular arrangement of curbs on the outside of the rotary, spanning approximately 40 cm in width. Since plants had proliferated along the joint between the original asphalt and the repaired area, removing the plants completely revealed unexpectedly wide and deep grooves.

『 手間は掛かりますが / It's Time Consurming, but... 』 以前、一度補修された路面ですが、縁石よりも内側に植物たちが繁茂してしまうと、路面への土砂の堆積が進み易いのでしょう、溝になった部分以外にも土砂が堆積して、そこから生えた植物たちの根によって路面の浸食が進んでしまった箇所もある等、このエリアの路面は可哀そうな状態です。でも、植物たちによる浸食を抑える為にも、安全な路面環境にする為にも、土砂と植物のj除去は続けていきます。 When plants grow profusely inside the curb, it seems that soil and sediment accumulate more easily on the road surface. As a result, in some areas, the road surface has been eroded by the roots of plants that have grown from the accumulated soil, leaving the road surface in a sad state. However, in order to curb erosion caused by plants and to create a safe road environment, we will continue to remove the soil and plants.

『 今回の成果 / Results of This Session 』 今回は、約 6時間の作業で、約26㎡ を清掃し、除去した土砂の量が 40リットルコンテナ 3杯分でした。 This time, in about 6 hours of work, we cleaned approximately 26 square meters, removing three 40-liter containers worth of soil and debris.

『 次回の目標 / Goals for Next Time 』 次回は「ロータリーエリア」の 8日目、今回、中央の円形部分の1/4 は清掃が済みましたので、次回は、隣接する円形部分の 1/4 の清掃を行ないます。路面上の堆積した土砂や植物たちの状態から判断すると、今回よりも路面の浸食は少ないと思いますが、小石や砂の無い安全で綺麗な路面状態へ、一日でも早く戻してやりたちと考えています。 Next time will be day 8 of the "rotary area." This time, we've cleaned 1/4 of the central circular section, so next time we'll clean the adjacent 1/4. Judging from the condition of the accumulated soil and plants on the road surface, I think the erosion will be less than this time, but I want to restore the road surface to a safe and clean state, free of pebbles and sand, as soon as possible.

This is a facility exclusively for bicycles and motorcycles, and no advance reservations or usage fees are required for personal use.

そして、秋には「イモカタバミ」が顔を出してくれました。 艶やかな濃いピンク色も悪くありません。 だから、同系色のバッグを買いました。

And in the fall, the tuberous oxalis appeared. The glossy, deep pink color isn't bad either. So, I bought a bag in a similar color.

その翌年も、同じ顔触れのカタバミたちが訪れてくれました。 しかし、今年は少し様子が違います。 小さな「ムラサキカタバミ」が多く咲いているのです。 The following year, the same kinds of oxalis visited again, but this year is a little different. Many small purple oxalis are blooming.

そのため、黄色の「カタバミ」は顔を見せず、「イモカタバミ」は隅に追いやられています。AI に尋ねると、「 同じカタバミの仲間でも、種子でも増えるカタバミよりも、地下茎（小さな球根）で増えるムラサキカタバミの方が繁殖力が高い 」と言い、「 その勢力図は変わらないでしょう 」と告げられました。

As a result, the yellow oxalis hasn't shown its face, and the tuberous oxalis has been pushed to the corner. When I asked the AI, it said, "Even among the same Oxalis species, purple Oxalis, which reproduces via rhizomes (small bulbs), has a higher reproductive capacity than Oxalis, which reproduces via seeds," and added, "That balance of power is unlikely to change."

カタバミ類は、平安時代から多くの家紋に採用されている程に、その繁殖力が尊ばれていましたが、現代では “雑草” 扱いされています。特に「ムラサキカタバミ」は “やっかい者” 扱いされています。でも、僕には草花を抜けませんし、“黄色” は 今も僕の色です。だから、期待を込めながら、様子を見ていきます。

In Japan, Oxalis species have long been valued for their reproductive power, even being used in many family crests, but nowadays they are treated as "weeds." Purple Oxalis, in particular, is considered a "nuisance." However, I can't bring myself to pull out plants, and "yellow" is still my color. So, I'll keep watching with hopeful anticipation.
