the novelty of having pets really does never wear off i’ve had my cat for ten years and i still look at him strolling around like can you believe this. a cat. is everyone seeing this. he’s alive he has bones and all. unbelievable
I tried to knit my first color work swatch with two yarns and my thoughts are: 1. I can't count the stitches and rows, 2. My hand can't hold two yarns together to make it more comfortable to work...
tried again and I’m happy now!
finished quilt top #3! this pattern is “garden glow,” designed by toad and sew, in the cover colors.

It's pattern release day for the Little Knit Peaches! The Little Knit Peaches bring with them the essence of summer, ready to use up all your wee yarn scraps and become your favourite desktop friend. Knit with eyes and legs for a whimsical peach sprite, or leave them off for a beautiful decoration or ornament.
The pattern is knit up with fingering weight yarn scraps, and needs only 30 yards total!
Find the pattern on my website and on Ravelry!
My cat Sna took the blanket photoshoot very seriously
The faux quilt blanket that I have been working on all spring is finally finished. It is going to be a gift for my best friend who is getting married.
It is knitted in brioche with breaks of garter stitch. It has really been a labor of love as it took 3 and a half months or about 250 hours to complete. I have never before attempted a project of this size. The knitting gauge is tiny, as it is made on 2,5mm needles in fingering weight wool yarn. 360 stitches per row.
Next I will be creating a baby blanket using the same stitch pattern, for which I am writing up the pattern. I am knitting it with larger needles and sport weight yarn.
Started hand stitching the drip quilt :) it’s gonna take forever since this is 84” square, but as they say the time will pass anyways. Arya has been incredibly supportive with quality checks for both the quilt and my hoop as well
hi knitters. My nana has arthritis (i believe osteo- specifically) and has not been able to knit for a while due to the pain, and for her birthday, I am thinking of putting together a box of tools and other products that would hopefully make the process less painful for her.
If you knit and have arthritis or similar conditions, would you mind suggesting products that have helped you? No budget on the kit overall, but I'd prefer that no individual purchase surpass, like, £100. thank you ❤️

wedding shawl so far 🤭 just the border left!!
Shetland, 2ply lace weight, wheel spun. Bird's eye lace on 2.75mm needles. The ruler was for getting straight blocked edges, but oh look I now have a guage record too. 6 edge sts, 4 pattern repeats (30st total) . Yarn steamed over the kettle to finish. Swatch soaked in warm water and rolled up in a towel before blocking.
Now to replicate.
Picking up my cat at the cat sitter after being away over the weekend. Best feeling in the world
Me: "Damn people are REALLY BAD at knowing when to tag their eyestrain art/images...either that or they just don't care about photosenitive epileptic people like me. I feel really sad now." Person: "But Allison, what if they just don't know or understand what qualifies as eyestrain and what doesn't?" Me: "You know what? That could be a factor...While it is always better to be safe rather than sorry (so YES people should always tag eyestrain even if they're unsure if it "counts" or not) maybe you've got a point?"
Anyways! HERE'S YOUR HANDY GUIDE TO WHAT CAN COUNT AS EYESTRAIN! I'm pulling this straight from the Artfight rules page about what needs to be labeled and filtered as eyestrain because it's VERY helpful and VERY accurate! I also know not everybody has an AF account and might not always have access to this handy guide, and this is an important resource; That's why I'm sharing it here! (under the cut)
PLEASE TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY!!! THIS IS ABOUT THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF OTHERS!!!
Best thing about watching my grandparents cat is that while I'm there I can rifle through the great Quilt Stash and bring out beautiful works of art to sleep under.

Finished stitching my Oversight series.
12 small embroidered poem-objects in wool, linen, cotton, silk, stitched on canvaswork mesh and edged in glass beads.
I haven't been updating here too much about knitting stuff but! I'm working on test knitting a shawl pattern and I took a photo of it outside in the sun today and it's GORGEOUS.
The yarn in question is Manos del Uruguay's Marina in the colorway Filigree. The pattern is coming soon!
