I like spinning yarn and my goal someday (like, YEARS down the line, once I get much better) is to spin an Orenburg-style lace shawl.

If you haven’t heard, I’m starting early so I’ve spent a good chunk of the day spinning. As voted, I started with my witch hazel gradient set from fellview fibres, which is a gradient of 13 mini batts of merino.

I have two sets of these, which is I think just under 400g total. I remember when I got these I was planning to spin them as individual mini skeins but I’ve changed my mind and I’m spinning them as one gradient yarn (which will probably have to be split into two when I ply bc my bobbins can’t fit 400g of yarn). I’m aiming for a light fingering/lace, and I think I want to make a big circular shawl with it

working on a handful of shirts to wear to my works’ summer event series and i think this one is my favorite so far. So soft and comfy and i loooove the i-cord hems (although doing a i-cord bind off takes forever)

The birthplace of silk production, and the largest producer of cashmere, I have some absolutely delicious fibres available for you to choose from. And of course, my usual options that are little bit more budget friendly.

Our custom blend fibre is merino/mulberry silk/cashmere, and I’ve also got some lace weight pure mulberry silk yarn which is 1000m per 100g! (Drooling thinking about the absolutely gorgeous shawl you could make with that)

This is what I was printing last night! It certainly works. The whole thing is 19g, shaft and all, which is a weight I really like for a cross arm! Unfortunately the spin duration is not very good despite the width, though it spins nice and fast which I like. I’m going to add some weight to the arms of this one to see if the spin improves some. I’m also going to try printing one that is smaller but denser, since that seems to be a common factor in the cross arms that I really like using.

This morning I am distracting myself from the heat by making a milkmaid dress crop top. It's technically a mockup for a dress I want to make later, but I thought it would be fun to just have some little puff sleeves to wear for hobbity looks
