You were on your knees, looking up to meet your boyfriendâs gaze. Red eyes fully blown out, hair messier than youâd ever seen it, strands sticking to his forehead with sweat. His brows were scrunched together in a fevered, feral expression, lips parted to let out a low, muffled groan. Everything was hazyâ too fucking hazyâ and it took you a second to realize he was saying something.Â
Something along the lines of calling you a good girl.
And a good fucking girl you were indeed. Mouth stuffed full of his cock, you were sucking him off like a champ, taking every thick inch he shoved down your throat. You could barely breathe, barely fit all of him, mascara-stained tears streaming down your cheeks while your hand rubbed frantic, desperate circles over your clit. Oh you looked nasty alright.
Sylus fisted a handful of hair at the base of your head and pressed you all the way down his length until you gagged around him. Almost instantly, he filled your mouth up, the salty, warm taste of him overflowing your tongue as you swallowed every drop down your throat.Â
And then you woke up.Â
You blinked once. Twice. Chest heaving, you found yourself tangled in your bedsheets, an unmistakable wet patch soaking straight through your underwear. Christ. Some dream that was. It was the first time something like that had happened, and it was everything you were too shy to ever ask from Sylus, who had never gone beyond breathless kisses and innocent cuddles with you.Â
Obviously, Sylus was walking sex. The fact that he was your boyfriend meant you were constantly riled up, twitchy, and practically leaking just being in the same room as him. His incessant teasing didn't help either. The further your relationship progressed, the harder it became to ignore the growing ache you were beginning to feel. That ache right in your pussy, something only he could truly cure.Â
But since you were too much of a coward to do anything about it, you were going to have to fix it yourself. Sighing, you sunk back into your mattress, a hand trailing inside your underwear before you could stop it. Biting your lip, your fingers recreated the same circles on your clit you felt not too long ago.
âFuck... Syâ
-------
Meanwhile, at his base, Sylus was having a hard time of his own.
His features were flushed and restless in sleep, breathing coming in low, ragged hitches. His hips unconsciously bucked upward, chasing the phantom mouth he was seeing in his mind.Â
After a beat, his eyes shot open, lips immediately curling up into a smile.Â
Sylus wasn't unaware of the connection he had with your dreams, knowing it had something to do with your soul-tie. You, being oblivious as ever, never seemed to question his convenient calls or appearances whenever you had a nightmare.Â
But the reason only he knew, and that was because he could see through most of your dreams, especially the ones you had particularly strong feelings for, the intensity of his visions spiking with your emotions . But this one... this one was the most vivid yet.Â
In fact, he had the front fucking seat to the show.
Sitting upright on his bed, the sheets falling off his bare torso, he looked down to see a certain problem saying hello. Heâs gonna have to take care of that now.
Yet he couldn't help the twinge of amusement settling in his chest. Beneath all that shy, sweet hesitation you carried during the day, his kitten clearly had a filthy little mind.
He wasn't going to let you in on his little window into your head just yet, though. He wanted to have his fun for just a bit longer.
ââââââ
The following weeks were absolute torment for you.
It was harder to face Sylus than you thought, your mind conjuring up the images of your dream at the most inconvenient times possible. Like that time when he had you curled up in his lap, hand stroking your hair, innocent enough for a normal person.Â
Yet in your depravity, all you could think about was how those same hands felt tightening their grip in your hair instead, using your mouth to relieve his cock.Â
Or that time when he called you a good girl for finishing a task youâd been putting off for days. The knowing smile on his face when he did that made your heart leap into your throat, the all-too-familiar feeling of having all your secrets laid bare for him before you learned how to resist his Aether Core.Â
But you rationalized it, of course. Chalking it up to him being his usual smug self, deliberately pushing your buttons to watch you squirm. And it fucking worked. The dreams became a nightly occurrence, each one bolder, nastier, and more obscene than the last.
And somehow, Sylus kept saying and doing things that felt eerily close to what happened in them, subtle enough to pass for coincidence, but specific enough to make you think he knew more than he let on.
The universe was playing a sick joke on you.
-------
You were at the Onychinus base for date night, but Sylus was running late. Some dispute with his subordinates had dragged him away, and his last text claimed he wouldn't be back for another hour.
Walking over to the couch to wait for him, you plopped down on your back, stretching your legs over the leather that still smelled faintly of him. A shudder ran down your spine, and that persistent throb returned between your thighs. Letting out a shaky breath, you pulled a throw blanket over yourself, trying to fight it off.Â
It was ridiculous. You couldn't go a single day without touching yourself; you were acting like a bitch in heat.Â
You picked up your phone, swiping the lockscreen to reread Sylusâs text over and over again like that would summon him immediately. Holding your flushed bottom lip between your teeth, you could feel your degeneracy catching up to you.Â
Yup. You were gonna fuck yourself right on his couch.Â
Your arousal had you more than prepped already, your pussy ruining your fourth pair of underwear today with how much it had dripped. So you wasted no time shoving two fingers inside, rubbing against your wet walls impatiently as your thighs clamped shut around your hand. You tried to imagine his fingers instead of your ownâ longer, thicker, reaching all the spots you couldn't reach yourself. That was what those hands were made for anyway, a much better use than whatever work Sylus usually occupied them with.Â
Before you knew it, you were cumming with a stifled cry of his name. Panting, you pulled your sticky fingers out, exhaustion suddenly crashing over you. You realised you still had plenty of time to nap before he got back, and you drifted off almost instantly.Â
--------
Sylus was mid-interrogation when it happened.
He stood towering over the trembling man collapsed at his feet, sleeves rolled up to his forearms as the red tendrils of his Evol danced around his knuckles. He raised his hand, about to land another blow, before he felt all the air yanked from his lungs. His Aether eye flared a dangerous, searing crimson.
He lost sight of the dark basement, replaced by an intoxicating sensory overload. The details were blurry around the edges before he realized he was pulled into your dreamspace yet again.Â
You were both standing at a balcony, him fucking you from behind, your bare tits exposed to the cool night air as your hands scrambled for purchase on the railing. He had his fingers shoved into your mouth to muffle your moans, his hips slamming rhythmically against yours, the nasty feat visible to whoever that wanted to see it.
âMmmphf SyââÂ
He pushed his fingers deeper, clamping your tongue down as he bit the shell of your ear.
âShh. Dirty fucking girl. You want someone out there to see us like this, donât you, sweetie?â
Even as he watched it all unfold through his own eyes, his body moved on autopilot, driven to act out the lewd scenario playing out in your mind, feeling the throb of his dick in your tight walls far too realistically for comfort.Â
Sylus blinked back into reality, head dipping to the side to shake off the lingering effects of the vision, a smirk pulling at his lips.
Shame he didn't get to see it all the way.
Leaving the terrified man spared for another day, Sylus headed straight for his car. He had always prided himself on his patience, but after days of these non-stop visions, he was dangerously close to his limit.Â
It was the same almost every night, you brazenly fucking him in your sleep, dangling the sweet treat right in front of him before he eventually woke up to his cock twitching and begging for your real pussy instead.Â
By the time he reached his base and stepped into the living room, he found you passed out on the couch, no doubt still dreaming of impaling yourself on his dick.Â
Stepping over, he crouched down, watching your chest rise and fall with the occasional hitched breath. Taking your hand in his, he noticed the slick still coating your fingers, and his eyes dilated.Â
Poor thing, having to take care of herself all alone. He tutted softly. If only you would ask for what you wanted, use him the way you so graciously showed him every night. God, he hoped youâd break soon, or he was going to give in first and have his way with you.
-------
It all came to a head on a random weekend. It was past midnight, and both of you were dozing off in his bed. Your back was pressed against Sylusâs chest, spooned up with his arm wrapped around your waist. You looked so content, soft snores escaping your lips as you drifted through a restful sleep.Â
But your mindâ ever the gluttonous cock fiendâ wouldnât let either of you rest for long.Â
Face down, ass up. That was how he had you.
âJust like that, sweetie. Come on, take it all the way inâfuck, there we go.â
Your lips parted with a silent sigh, your thighs squeezing together around his leg. Sylusâs eyebrows furrowed in his sleep, his fingers twitching against your stomach.Â
âSy, slow down, too bigââÂ
He slammed harshly all the way into your womb.
His actual hips jerked in response, the hardening length of his cock outlining itself clearly through his sweatpants.Â
âAh ah ah, don't run away from me sweetyââ
He dragged your hips back to meet his thrust this time.Â
His grip tightened on your waist, subconsciously tugging your actual body back toward him.Â
âFucking gorgeous, so tight. This is my cunt, isnât it? Mine.â
He held your hips with bruising force, ramming into that delicious spot that had you drooling into the sheets.Â
Still asleep, Sylus managed to drag you completely flush against him, pinning your ass to his lap. A low groan escaped his chest at the contact as his dick nudged directly against your clothed cunt.Â
And it must've known it was close to home, 'cause it seemed to throb and twitch more eagerly.Â
âShitâ keep fucking back on me like that. Use my cock sweetie.â
He slowed down as you rutted back into him, chasing your own high.
And your hips rolled back instinctively, pressing your hole against his tip, seeking out the stretch of him even in your unconscious state.
Sylus was losing his resolve, taking back the reins as he desperately bullied his cock through your walls once more. He wrapped an arm around the back of your neck, using that grip to hold you in place.
And he was getting bolder in reality too, his hand pinning you down on his dick, grinding and dry humping you through your shorts.Â
âSy âm gonna come, fuck im gonna come pleaseââ
And you came outside of the dream too- Your pussy clamped down hard, soaking through all your layers and pulsing wildly against the thick length shoved flush between your thighs, soaking him too in the process.Â
Sylus snapped out of the trance with a flinch, his eyes shooting open as a ragged groan spilled from his lips. Were you just⌠sleep fucking? What a mess, all without so much as undressing each other.Â
Sylus held onto you tighterâ not the sleepy, sluggish movements from earlier, but his full grip coming into effect instead. He dipped his head into the curve of your shoulder.Â
âFuck. wake up, please. Pleaseâ he huffed, unsure of what he would do to himself if he didn't go balls deep in you right fucking now.

you've always been careful about how you spend your money. sylus notices this, and to counteract it, he spends his money on you like there's no tomorrow.
when you're out shopping, he'll insist you enter stores you'd never consider yourself because of the price. sylus is ever so patient when you try on dress after dress, and when you can't choose which ones you like the most, he tells the salesperson to wrap them all.
"i'll see you in the red one for dinner," he'll say, swiping his card without so much a glance at the screen. the price is more than your last paycheck.
sylus will deliver things to your apartment. they'll somehow end up on your kitchen island, and he'll call you right as you get home.
"what did you buy this time?" you'll ask him.
sometimes it'll be a pair of shoes you've been eyeing or new gear you've been putting off buying. when you ask how he could've possibly known what you needed, sylus will chuckle, his voice deep and amused over the phone.
"i have my ways," he tells you.
what you don't know is how he religiously monitors the posts like online... and maybe what you search. irrelevant details. after all, everything is fair game when it comes to providing for his girl, right?
when you do tell sylus you want something, usually food, he navigates to the most expensive places. you want a sweet treat? it's a high-end bakery, and he buys one of each thing for you to try. craving a good meal? you end up in places that have a month-long waiting list. out for drinks? sylus waves his hand and another round appears before you have the chance to finish what's in your hand.
sylus finds it amusing when you tell him to stop. he towers over you, standing around in the living room as you ramble on about being able to afford your own things while sitting on his couch. it's cute, really.
he cuts you off, "oh, kitten."
you look up at him, hands mid-gesture trying to prove your point.
"what?"
"you have no idea how much i hold back."

It's just after 9am when your doorbell rings. You glance up, eyes wide like a cat caught in the midst of pawing a glass over the edge of a table. Your breakfast sits in front of you, half-eaten. Grabbing a napkin, you hastily wipe your mouth before scurrying over to the front door. Swinging it open, you find a young delivery boy holding a beautiful bouquet of flowers.
"For Missâ"
You take them from him and sign his tablet, uttering a quiet, "Thanks," before closing the door. You've been receiving a fresh bunch every week for about a month now, ever since you separated from your long-time partner. The flowers from last week sit in a vase on your island bench, casting you a disapproving look as you set the fresh bouquet down nearby and go on a scavenger hunt for another vase. Finding an old pitcher instead, you undo the bouquet and arrange the flowers inside it, adding some water and the provided flower food afterwards.
With your breakfast growing colder by the second, you plop down in the opposite chair and finish it off, your bites rough like sandpaper and chewing menacing like it's not the right grit. Your brow heads inch toward each other, forehead creased and shoulders tight as you eat. He has to stop doing this, you thinkâŚ
Finishing your breakfast, you wash up your plate and other dirty dishes. Drying yourself off, you dive for your phone and scroll through your contacts, searching for the name with the love hearts only to remember you removed them a few weeks ago. Pressing the call icon, your phone starts to ring. Almost instantly, the line connects.
A rather chirpy voice comes through the speakers, "Good morning, pipsqueak. How are you feeling todayâ?"
"I told you stop sending me flowers, Caleb," you ground out, your mood thoroughly soured by his unwanted generosity.
"Did you?" He chuckles awkwardly, definitely remembering your last phone call to him a week ago. "It must have slipped my mind. Whoopsies."
"Caleb," you grumble. There's no winning with him. His love is like the fresh air, fuelling your flame. But his warped ideals are the glass placed over the candle, snuffing it out until only grey tendrils and hardening wax are left behind. Your simmering heat dies. Ashes in your heart. You release a defeated sigh. "At least, send them every fornight, okay? They don't wilt that quicklyâŚ"
"You got it. Oh, and by the way, how are your cramps? Your period should start in a couple ofâ"
"Caleb, oh my god! You still track it?!" You exclaim, affronted. It's bad enough that you couldn't recover all of your panties from his abundant collection. Must he track your cycle as well? You suppose it's better for your lover to care more about your reproductive health then not care about it all. But that doesn't apply to exes.
"'Course I do. I can send you some chocolate if you're having cravings. Do you want dark or nutty? That brand you like also came out with an orange flavour if you wanted to try it." You pinch your brow, settling down on the couch as you feel this stabbing pain in your stomach, like some demon slipped out of hell, twisting your guts in its grotesque hand. You're rendered speechless.
"Do you have enough pads?" Caleb asks, continuing to obsess over you the way you wish he wouldn't. "Why don't you text me the ones you need and I'll pick them up for you? I was heading to Linkon this afternoon, anyways."
"No, you weren't, CalebâŚ" You mutter, growing more exhausted by the minute. "Just give it a rest, okay? I already have all of the chocolate and pads I could ever need. And you don't need to come over."
"Didn't you say your tap was leaking? I can fix it while I'm there. And I'm sure your cat misses me, too. I bought her some treats while I was at the pet store the other week. I should be there about three. Oh, and I can buy some groceries on the way. How about I make us some braised chicken wings for dinner? My treat." You don't even get a chance to respond as he continues on, "Alright, I've gotta get going. Fleet stuff. But I'll see you later, alright? And don't worry about cleaning your place up. Just take it easy."
"Fine. Bye," you utter, quickly hanging up and slamming your phone down on the coffee table. Leaning back, you clutch your abdomen. God, that guy is such a pain in the ass. Just barges in on your life whenever he wants. Giving and giving until you can't take anymore. That's the main reason things fell off between you two. The Fleet was stressing him out, and rather than keeping that stress at work, he'd let it out on those who threatened your relationship. Threatened as in offered to grab something from the top shelf for you, or even smiling at you just a little too much to the point where Caleb became worried they would try and take you away from him.
When he became like this, you can't say. But the man you walked away from most certainly wasn't the one you ran toward. He understands that you're not a possession that can be stolen, or a naive girl that can be misled by creepy older men. But despite his understanding, he still clings to this archaic idea of protection. Your radient light shouldn't be dimmed by the stains of humanity. It should be kept pure. In the palm of his hand.
Moving out and finding your own place was challenging enough. Of course, Caleb wouldn't let you carry any of the boxes or handle any of the white goods. Nor would he let you pay for the rent or utilities. But at least he let you decorate. Oh, and gave you this illusion of space with his recent absence. But your address is ingrained into his mind alongside bittersweet memories of your time together. Your laughter is sewn into his soul, your intellect the sparks that set his neurons alight. Your body is branded into his.
Quiet meows pull you from your daze. You cat, Mittens, stretches before you, paws spread and rear high before her spine curves into an arc. She must have heard Caleb's voice and grew curious. Brushing up against your leg, she meows again, her soft fur sticking to your lounge pants. You give her few head scratches, spouting utter gibberish in a baby voice about how Caleb will be coming over later today. She perks up at the mention of his name, a purr starting in her chest.
Unfortunately for you, your sweet kitty, Mittens, loves your ex-fiancĂŠ. She's never been as affectionate with you as she is with Caleb. And he spoils her rotten. The most expensive treats, the prettiest pink collar with her name embroidered into it. Her cat tower remained at his place in Skyhaven because of its size, but you brought along the numerous cat beds, scratching posts, dangly toys and other bizarre cat things Caleb bought for her to your new place; they fill an entire bedroom. And to say she loves them would be an understatement. But the little plushies and other items you've given her over the years? She couldn't be less disinterested.
Resigned to your fate, you fetch a heat pack and chuck it in the microwave, letting it get nice and toasty while you choose a movie to watch. Thankfully, it's your day off, so you have no objections to taking it easy. You end up picking a comfort film and settle back onto the couch, pouting as Mittens goes to sit on her fur-covered cushion that also has her name embroidered into it, but this time, with a crown (guess who bought it?).
The time flies by, 3pm steadily approaching between films and grabbing snacks. There's no knock on the door when Caleb arrives, just the jangle of keys and shameless thud behind him before he removes his work boots. You don't even turn around. He's still in his colonel uniform, you can smell it. Guns, sweat, and unreported violence. The rustle of grocery bags overpower your senes.
Caleb leaves them in the kitchen before stalking into the living room, a big grin on his face as he comes over to you. "Hey, honey." He wraps you in his arms, your face smushed against his shoulder as he squeezes you tight. "I missed you." Drawing back, he cups your face, the heat of his hands soaking through his gloves, into your cheeks. "Where's my kiss?"
"Ca-leb," you groan. "We're separated. Sep-ah-rated. I'm not kissing you."
"Oh, come on, baby. I've had a long day. And besides, it'll make you feel better." His boyish charm is difficult to resist. But you must. As you're about to say noâ "Please." Your ancestors must be looking down upon you with disdain as you begrudingly lean in and give him a peck.
"One more?"
"Oh, fuck off."
"Fine, fine. But I expect something a little more generous after dinner." Releasing you, Caleb retreats to the kitchen, going through his overnight bag you knew he'd end up packing.
"I'm not sleeping with you, fuck wit!" You call out to him, remaining on the couch to sulk. His laughter rings off the walls, geniune amusement. You bet Mittens has her tail curled around his calf right now, seeing as she's disappeared from her cushion.
He doesn't shout back. He knew you never liked it when he shouted. And his voice is loud enough, unmistakeable in the quiet of your apartment as he says, "I never implied you should. All I meant was that you're being a little curt. Breaks my heart, you know?" You can envision his sad pout, those cunning, puppy eyes staring at you.
Every retort dies on your tongue. Pushing off the couch, you head to the kitchen and see Caleb feeding Mittens a pureed treat. She laps at it happily, excited every time he pinches the packet and sends another meaty curl springing up from the opening.
"Can you get changed, please? Don't tell me you're gonna fix my tap in that." Your eyes roam over his uniform, noticing the small splatter of blood on his sleeve. The sight causes you to gulp.
"Why not? I thought you liked it when I wear my uniform," he teases, squeezing out the last of the treat for Mittens. Once she finishes eating, he pats her head and cooes gently, "There we go. That's my good girl."
"Caleb." You fold your arms across your chest, your patience wearing thin. He should be saying that to you. "Just hurry up and get changed, okay? You can use my shower or whatever. But don't use all of my body wash. I don't have much left."
"Don't worry. I bought you another bottle just in case." Caleb stands up, Mittens pawing at his leg while he unveils an extra large pharmacy-exclusive bottle of your go-to body wash. Of course, he had time to go to the pharmacy and buy that for you. No! Of course, he made time to go to the pharmacy and buy that for you.
Without another word, your ex-fiancĂŠ begins unpacking the groceries he bought, putting them away without any difficulty (he has pictures of your kitchen on his phone, all of the drawers and cupboards labelled accordingly). You help him with maybe one of the bags. He's awfully fast. Sunlight streams in through the windows, illuminating his dark locks. It feels like old times. Noon grocery shopping or after work convenience store runs. Delicious home cooked meals. Lazy Sunday morning sex with breakfast to follow. You miss those times. You miss who Caleb was back then. Who he never stopped being. But not who he ended up becoming.
Your kitchen is spotless by the time he ducks off to your bathroom. You rest against the coutertop, your fingers pressed to your lips, mind off in the clouds. There's a weight that's missing. He kept your engagement ring. You remember that conversation like it was yesterday, though the wound is but a scar left behind.
"I'm not taking it back. It's yours." Caleb huffed, incredulous as to how you could offer up your ring to him like that, the ring he gave you to symbolise the lifetime you'd spend together.
"Caleb! I'm serious. We're over!" You held out the ring to him, inching it closer despite his obvious hesitation. All he had to do was take it from you, and then your soul would finally be freed. You'd be finished with him. For goodâor so you thought.
"I told you, I'm not taking it back. I don't care if we're over. I don't care if you pawn it off or throw it in the ocean. It's yours."
"Then keep it safe for me, will you?" You countered, grabbing his wrist and placing the ring in his palm. All your love, in his hand. His to protect. Forever more.
You wonder what happened to itâthe ring, that is. If he still has it. He definitely still has it. Probably keeps it in his bedside drawer and stares at it longingly before bed each night like the pathetic loser he is. Your loser⌠(un)fortunately.
A traitorous grin stretches across your lips, concealed by your hand. You immediately scowl at yourself, mumbling like a mad woman about getting your head in the game. But it's difficult to when you see a fluffy tail swaying until its out of your sight, obscured by the wall. You bet Mittens has wandered down the hall to sit outside bathroom⌠Yep, you can hear her scratching at the door.
Sighing, you trudge down the hallway, eyeing your precious little baby who must get inside that steamy room with Caleb. Oh, how you wish that was youâ! Stop it! You shake your head, intent on banishing those thoughts before they take root and fester. Reaching the bathroom, you go to open the door when the handle turns. The door opens. Not just a little ajar thing, no. Like some freak of nature Caleb opens the door wide, chilly air flooding his soaking wet body, your towel haphazardly slung around his hips.
"Hi ba⌠by." His voice drops from high-pitched to his familiar resonance, expression turning from over-excited to bewildered in seconds.
"I was. Getting the door." You glance down at Mittens who happens to be licking the water droplets off Caleb's ankle, your cheeks heating up at the speed of light.
"Riiiiight." He quirks a brow at you, mischievous smile on his lips.
You gesture to his (or rather, your) towel. "You couldn't grab a clean one?"
"There were none left in the linen cupboard." He shrugs, quickly catching the edges of the towel as it begins to slip. All you can see is wet, rippling contours. Taut skin. Veins running up his hands and forearms, those on his hips disappearing beneath the pink, Egyptian cotton. It's been a little whileâŚ
"You're such a liar, Caleb," you mutter. "You didn't even look! I put fresh ones in there the other day."
"Really?" He says as if he's surprised. His hand comes to his chin. Everyone talks about ovulation cravings, but none dare speak of the beast you become as your period approaches. "Hm⌠I can't remember seeing anyâ"
"Because you didn't lookâ"
"But you don't have many, right? Isn't it better to save them, anyway? We might need them for later tonight." You gasp at his insinuation.
"Caleb!"
"What? You're thinkin' about it, too. There's no need to be shy about it. I thought we got over that a long time agoâ"
"Oh my god, shut up!" You groan, your frustration palpable as you stomp away from him, fingers pressed to your temples. You've got a headache coming on. And Mittens will be all damp by the time she and him emerge from the bathroom. You'll have to dry her off while Caleb works on your kitchen tap. The agony that persists. Must life only bring suffering?
Only once the sun kisses the horizon is Caleb finally fiddling with your kitchen tap, twisting it, unscrewing it, examining it while you struggle to keep Mittens away from him. Since you dried her off, she's been strutting through his legs, flopping over and demanding belly rubs almost every minute he works on your tap.
As she does it again, you slide her across the floor and scoop her up in your arms, bouncing her like a restless baby as Caleb flashes you a grin.
"She's really missed me, huh?"
"Yeah. She used to start meowing at like 2am when we first moved in here. And she wouldn't stop until I got up to feed her. But now, she's calmed down a lot." You release her on the ground, watching as she inevitably bounds over to Caleb.
"That's good to hear. But I wish you told me she was giving you trouble. I would have visited if I knew she was keeping you up at night." Caleb dismantles your tap with ease, laying each part out on your sink so he can assess them one at a time.
"That's why I didn't tell you, dummy. I needed some space. I still need some space, actually," you remark.
"I've given you plenty of space, honey."
"You still track my cycle," you grouch.
"Okay, yeah." He picks up one of the parts, sniffing it like that rusty scent will tell him something other than that your apartment is overdue for a reno. "But it's not like I'm reviewing your discharge nightly."
"Anymore," you quip. "I bet you miss doing that, freak."
"You don't have to be so mean, you know? Especially not to the person who's doing you a favour right now." That shuts you up. You glare at him as Mittens begins to meow, anxious for an ounce of that handsome man's attention. As she stretches up, paws on his shorts, hind legs and torso elongated, he bends down and lifts her beneath the underarms. His fingertips overlap. You forgot just how large his hands are. Merely seeing them is different to seeing them wrapped around something. You gulp.
Caleb places her arms over his shoulder, one hand beneath her rear as he continues going through each part of your tap. You don't say anything else as he works, intent on watching her drift off to sleep with her little furry head on his shoulder. Your chest pangs. Everything you've tried to convince yourself you don't need is before you⌠It's times like these that make you forget those moments when you were curled up in bed, crying as Caleb just had to put another innocent person in their place for 'flirting' with you (showing basic kindness). If he would just changeâ
You stop yourself. There's no use relying on someone else to change. For someone cannot change unless they truly wish to. And Caleb, you're sure, feels justified in his actions. He can't see his wrongdoings, only how his 'righteous' actions upset you. What he does is not the problem, but he himself is. Or at least, that's how you understand him to be. If his perceptions have changed in the short time you've been apart, then you'd welcome that with open arms. ButâŚ
"Looks like it's your o-rings," Caleb says, holding up four little rubber rings.
"My what rings?" Your brow furrows. They really need to rename those to something else.
"Your o-rings. They create a seal between parts, so water doesn't leak out of places it shouldn't. It looks like one of them was loose. But to be safe, I'll replace all four." He sets them down and stalks off, returning with a packet of assorted replacement rings. It doesn't take him long to find the perfect match, and it's all too soon before he's re-assembling your tap, attaching it back to the sink like it hadn't been touched in the first place. He turns it on then off, waiting for any leaks. But there are none.
"Thanks, Cay," you murmur, gracing him with a sweet smile. A high unlike any substance can give him. He beams back at you, attempting nonchalance and thoroughly failing at it.
"It's alright. Wasn't too complicated or anything. But if you have anymore trouble with it, let me know. I can try replacing the washers next time to see if that'll do it." He packs up his few tools and leaves the kitchen, likely heading to his bag which he undoubtably left in your bedroom. You scoff. There's no way he's sleeping in your bed tonight. The couch is calling his name.
It's a little early for dinner, but seeing as Caleb hasn't returned for a minute longer than he ought to, you start pulling out the ingredients he meticulousy packed away earlier in the afternoon. He's probably going through your dirty laundry basket. If you're missing a pair(s) of panties, you'll know who the culprit is that's for sure.
By the time he waltzes back into the kitchen, Mittens trailing behind him, you're already measuring out the ingredients for the sauce.
"Hold on there. Are you starting without me?" Caleb pouts, clasping his heart like it hurts. You roll your eyes at him, snapping the lid back on the soy sauce.
"What does it look like I'm doing, dummy?" Now where is that darn hand grater when you need it? You start pulling open drawers, a bulb of ginger in your other hand as you frantically skim through knives and spoons. It's not long before Caleb is by your side, magically retrieving the grater you swear wasn't there a second ago.
"Looking for this?" He can barely contain his smirk.
"Thanks," you mutter, your eyes narrowed as you take the grater from him. Returning to your array of little bowls, you grate the ginger into one before mincing garlic into another. Meanwhile, Caleb soaks the chicken wings in water and a pinch of salt. But of course, braised chicken wings simply aren't enough for dinner. He also bought your favourite noodles, bean sprouts, and other yummy ingredients to make stir-fry noodles.
Easily, you and Caleb slip into a familiar routine, him at the stove while you man the chopping board. Mittens is off rubbing her scent all over Caleb's work boots. All that's missing is oldies jazz playing in the background. You wonder where you put your speaker as you chop the spring onions. A bit of music wouldn't hurt, right?
The onion slips, but your clouded mind doesn't react fast enough. The blade comes down and pierces your skin. A thin red line appears. A whimper escapes you. Caleb is beside you within a second, prying your hand off the knife and setting it down so he can examine your finger.
"You alright?" He asks, his voice slightly gruff.
"Mhm," you hum, trying to pull your hand back, but he won't let you. His grip is like a vice, clamped up in concern.
"Go sit down." He finally relents, releasing your hand. "I'll grab the first aid kit."
"I'm fine, Cayâ" He's already stormed off, en route to your bathroom to grab the bandaids and disenfectant. Petulently, you throw yourself into one of chairs at the island bench, groaning about how he's making a big deal out of nothing (even though he can't hear you right now).
When he comes back, he sits beside you and diligently patches up your finger, chastising you lightly for not being more careful. After all, it's not the first time you've done this when cooking with him. His presence can be so distracting⌠But it's not like there's anything else for you to do in the kitchen other than chop. There's no way he'll let you near the stove when he's around. Maybe he'll put you on dish duty next time. How exciting.
You're banished to the couch while Caleb finishes up with dinner, your sweet kitty oblivious to your indignation as she finds a way to sit inside of your ex's boots. To leave her scent all over them simply isn't enough. She must infuse herself with the lining, coat the insole with her fur until he's forced to recall her every time he gets dressed for work.
Once Caleb finishes cooking, you help to set the table, watching with keen eyes as he plates everything. It looks delicious, steam rolling off crunchy fried noodles and tender chicken wings sparkling beneath the overhead light. Before digging in, you set out a bowl for Mittens, the clang of the metal on the floorboards enough to rouse her from her cosy spot.
Caleb's shoulder brushes against yours as you sit down, the cotton fabric of his t-shirt catching on yours. You can feel his heat, fabric sliding over skin. An ephemeral touch, replaced by hairs on edge as you yearn to close that small gap between you. He loads up your plate first, giving you the best looking chicken wings before dishing himself out a couple.
You start with the noodles, and oh boy are they divine. Perfectly crisp. The bean sprouts go so well with the salty flavour. Picking up a chicken wing, you bite into it and find that Caleb's cooking has only improved since you last saw him. Taking another bite, it dawns upon you that you forfeited a man who's good both in bed and in the kitchen. You should be ashamed of yourself!
As the silence stretches on, you decide to break it with, "How's therapy going?" Caleb nearly chokes on his chicken wing's bones.
"The-rapy?" He coughs out, clearing his throat before chugging half a glass of water.
"Yeah. Remember? I said that if you wanted to get back together, then you'd have to start going to therapy."
"I know, but I⌠didn't think you were being serious." Caleb's brow puckers in thought, his hand on his chin as he recalls that fight you two had in the days leading up to your separation.
You sigh dramatically. "Of course, you didn't."
"HeyâŚ" He turns to face you, expression slightly pouty yet undeniably serious. "Look, pips, I don't need to go to therapyâ"
"Princess, you're deranged." You twirl your chopsticks in your noodles, gathering them up in a bundle. "You need to go to therapy."
"I'll have you know I'm not deranged." He says, defensively.
"Yes, you are, Caleb. And even if you weren't, I'd still want you to go to therapy or at least maintain a journal or something."
"I have a journal." You cast him an 'oh, really?' look, which he nods at. "I'm serious. I have a journal. I write in it nightly."
"What do you write about?" You ask, pointing your noodle-ladden chopsticks at him antagonistically.
He chuckles in awkwardly. "Uh, it's a secret. There's no point having a journal if I tell you everything I write in it."
"I didn't ask you what you wrote, dummy. I asked what you write about. Work stuff, airplane model stuff, daily life stuff. What? What goes in there?" He scratches the back of his neck sheepishly, suddenly avoiding your gaze. You've got a bad feeling about this.
"Don't tell me it's a log of my discharge." His eyes widen. Caught red-handed. "Caleb!" You nearly shriek.
"What?" He winces, acting as if his unspoken admission is competely normal and natural.
"At least tell me it's in a physical journal." You silently pray his answer is 'yes'.
"Of course, not. I can't visualise patterns and trends in a physical book," Caleb says like that's painfully obvious and absolutely essential to the nature of his journaling. "I've got it on a spreadsheet. I can show you sometime, if you'd like. Actually, I noticed as I was going through your laundry that your recent discharge was slightly yellowish. Has that been happening for long orâ?"
"Caleb!" You exclaim, almost dropping your chopsticks.
"If it persists, it could be a sign of an STI. Have you been having sex with otherâ?"
"No!" Your eyes are like those of a deer in headlights, heart pounding defeaningly loud in your ears, and chest heaving. When did you get so worked up? Quiet ensues, neither one of you sure what to say next. Eventually, you utter, "Okay, one, grossâ"
"That's not grossâ"
"Two, you don't even keep a journal. A journal is supposed to be for mindfulness, Caleb!"
"Well, I would say that tracking your cycle is pretty mindful, wouldn't you?"
You groan, clearly frustrated with his smart ass attitude right now. "You see, this is why you need to be going to therapy."
"You don't want me to track your cycle?" He pouts, ready to turn on the puppy eyes should your temper rise. Of course, that's all he got from what you just said.
"No, you fuck wit. Just listen to me," you grit out. "Yes, I want you to track my cycle. But also, we're not together anymore, so you can stop tracking it now. But even if you do track it, you can just use an app. You don't need to be going through my underwear on a daily basis to figure out where I'm at in my cycle. It's not normal, Cay."
"Well, dating is pretty rough these days." He shrugs, cupping his chin pensively. "I can't imagine many men going to the lengths I do to take care of their partners."
Setting your choptsticks on your plate, you run your hands down your face, exhausted by his antics. "What I'm saying is that it's weird, Caleb. God, you never listen to me."
"Don't say that, baby. You know I always listen to you." He leans over, palm on your shoulder to comfort you. But you push him off.
"No, you don't. You never listen to what I say. You always just do what you think is best for me without asking what I want." Your words hang in the air, floating atop wispy steam. The food's getting cold.
In a gentle voice, Caleb murmurs, "Let's not do this anymore, okay? This conversation isn't going anywhere, and it's only upsetting you."
"You're upsetting me!" You lash out, on the verge of tears. Unexpected, they crept up on you. Your appetite shrivels up and rots in your stomach. Sniffling, you grab your plate and take it to the kitchen counter, wrapping it in aluminium foil and turning on the oven. After placing it inside to keep your half-eaten dinner warm, you dash down the hall, making it to the bathroom to wash your greasy lips.
"HoneyâŚ" You hear Caleb coo. Why does it always have to end like this? You, balling your eyes out. Him, unwaveringly oblivious to the pain he's caused you. And your steadily approaching period doesn't help either. Your hormones are out of wack. But at least he doesn't tip toe around you. That would be worse. To be treated like some bomb about to explode any minute. At least respects you enough to argue with you like you're his equal. As if you could call that spat a true argument.
Ducking into your bedroom, you see that indeed, you were correct; his overnight bag rests at the foot of your bed. With tear-filled eyes, you grab it by the handle and drop it on the floor, climbing under the covers to cry in peace. But it doesn't last for long. You're only graced with five mintues before there's a knock on your bedroom door. Caleb doesn't bother to ask for permission to enter, he simply slips inside, sitting on the edge of your bed and stroking where your head is beneath the quilt and blankets.
"I'm sorry," he utters, regret in his voice.
"For what?" You grumble, muffled by the layers between you. But he hears you all the same.
"I'm sorry for making you feel you like I don't listen to you. And I'm sorry for making you cry. It was never my intention to do either of those things." He pauses for a moment, waiting for you to accept his apology. But those magical words never come. With a deep breath in, he concedes, "I know that I can be a little overbearing sometimes. But it's for your own good, I swear." You push the covers back, fresh air swarming your red, puffy face.
Sitting up, you wipe your snotty nose on your arm, swallowing thickly before mumbling, "If your overbearing nature is making me feel unheard and upset, then how is it good for me?" He opens his mouth, retort ready when it withers away. That look in your eyesâit's as if he's been thrust back in time to a month agoâbroken. All he succeeded in doing by coming here (besides from fixing your tap) was to shatter your spirit. And even worse, up until this very moment, he felt justified in doing so. But nowâŚ
"I'll go to therapy, okay? If it's that simple to make you smile again, then I'll do it. I'm sorry I didn't start sooner." You shake your head. The perfect answer rejected.
"You have to go to threrapy because you want to. You have to want to change. You have to want to get better. It's not about me, Caleb. It's about what you want," you stress. He licks his lips, inredulous, tasting the metaphorical saltiness of your tears. Don't you understand? Caleb can't exist without you. Whatever you wantâas long as it's good for youâCaleb wants, too.
"I want to. Go to therapyâ"
"No, you don'tâ"
"Well, I'm going to go anyway, alright? Whatever helps get us back on track. I want you to know that I haven't given up on us. And I'm pretty sure you haven't either." Caleb grabs a tissue from your bedside table before inching closer to you, carefully patting away the wetness of your cheeks. Your lips are swollen, quivering slightly as you feel your tears renew from his sweet affection.
With his hands on either side of your face, tissue in his lap, Caleb leans down and plants a kiss on your forehead. He trails down your temple and cheekbone, coming across to the reddened tip of your nose and then dipping to your lips. His kiss is light and fleeting, nothing too overwhelming as your emotions spill over. Resting your head against his shoulder, you snake your arms around his torso and squish him like a teddy bear. A soft chuckle arises. He embraces you just as tightly if not more.
"You're the worst ex." You mumble into his shirt, a big sniffle following behind.
"Yeah?" He replies, teasing lilt to his tone.
"Yeah." You rub your face against him like a feline; Mittens doesn't deserve to have all the fun. Speaking of the devil, she jumps up onto the bed, nuzzling at Caleb's side in an attempt to make your sacred cuddle a group hug.
"Caleb."
"Mhm?"
"I love you," you murmur, squeezing him a fraction tighter. He chuckles quietly, big warm hands rubbing circles into your back soothingly.
"I love you, too."
That night, you reluctantly let him sleep in your bed, his warmth lulling you into the deepest sleep you've had since separating.
Your heart is racing, jitters crawling up your spine as you futz with your hair. You're supposed to be going on a date tonight inâyou tap your phone screen. It lights up. 17:52â8 minutes. More precisely, it'll be your first official date with Caleb since you two separated. He's been good for the past six months, going to therapy and keeping his distance (thanks to the cameras he installed all over your place when he was minding Mittens (you were away on a short business trip)). Slowly, you've been growing closer, falling back into old patterns you never really shook off. He's taken care to listen to any problems you've raised, and learned to let you initiate (for the most part).
But of course, Caleb is still Caleb. You can hear him enter through the front door from where you stand in your bedroom, hunched over your vanity.
He coos to Mittens, "How's my favourite girl?" You hear the rustle of treats. Must he feed her? She just ate an hour ago⌠Huffing, you give up on your hair, resigned to accept the awkward curve of your fringe. Grabbing your perfume, you rip off the cap and douse yourself in that luxurious scent.
"Pipsqueak?" Caleb's footsteps grow louder. He opens your bedroom door. "There you are, honey." You gaze at him through the mirror, eyes roaming over his tailored suit with delight and settling on his orange striped tie. A smile breaks out across your face.
"I'll be done soon, okay?" You tell him, heading over to your wardrobe and unveiling your shoe collection, many of which, Caleb bought for you on a whim. 'I thought these would go with that cream dress you like.' 'The bow reminded me of you.' 'Weren't you searching for a pair of heels just like these?' Skimming through your options, you settle on a sleek pair. Thankfully, you taped your toes together in advance. Slipping the heels on, you wobble a bit when standing up. But Caleb's there to catch you. He grasps your forearms and holds you steady, leading you forward like a parent does to their toddler. That's what you feel like in these fuckers anyways. A wittle baby.
"You okay? You know, you don't have to wear these if they're too hard to walk in," Caleb reminds you. But you shake your head, intent on surviving the next few hours in these beautiful (tortuous) heels.
"I'll be fine, Cay. I wanna look pretty for our date tonight." You tell him. He chuckles lightly, halting and stepping closer to you. His hands trail across to your waist, gripping you firmly.
"You look very pretty, honey, with or without heels." He grins at you, leaning in for a kiss, but stopping short of your lips. He wouldn't dare to ruin your lip combo before you've even reached the restaurant. "Tell you what, I'll keep a second pair of shoes for you in my car. How does that sound? You can change into those once you get tired of these."
"Mhm, yes, please." You nod, scampering off to retrieve your comfiest sneakers. Handing them to Caleb, you follow him out your bedroom door, grabbing your handbag on the way out. Mittens is happily munching on some gourmet treats as you two lock the apartment up. On the kitchen counter, you notice a small plate with a delicious looking slice on it.
Pointing to it, you say, "For me?"
Caleb whips around, a big grin on his face. "Yeah, I made some banana bread this morning. Thought you'd like to try it."
"I'm watching my weightâ"
"I know, I know. That's why I only brought you a slice. Try it, won't you?" Staring at him for a few seconds, you eventually sigh.
"Fine. I'll try it later tonight." You abandon the treat and rejoin Caleb's side, ready to leave for your date. Mittens is oblivious to your departure, unperturbed by the lights going out as she finds the jacket Caleb left on the couch for her to sleep on.
The drive down town is short, accompanied by some nice jazz and light chatter. Caleb gets the door for you once he's parked the car and keeps an arm around your shoulders as you walk up to the restaurant's entrance. Heading inside, the hostess greets you both and leads you to a quiet table at the back Caleb specifically reserved. Ever the gentleman, he pulls out your chair for you and pushes it in before taking his seat opposite you.
"You don't have to be so chivalrous, you know?" You remark. Table water and two cups are placed in front of you. The hostess leaves you both to go through the menu.
"I wanna make a good impression." Caleb shrugs, a little shy. You chuckle at that.
"I think we're past that stage, don't you?" You flip the menu open, the insanely high prices jumping out at you. Gulping, you read through the offerings. Weird pairings. Beijing this, Parisan that. You remind yourself that Caleb can afford this kind of fine dining.
"Well, it never hurts, does it? And I've always been chivalrous, pipsqueak." You glance up. He hasn't even opened his menu.
"Aren't you going to read the menu?" You gesture to it, bemusement creeping into your voice. He graces you with a reassuring smile.
"I'll have what you're having."
"Cay-leb," you grumble. It's always these little bullshit games when it comes to him. You thought he got past that months ago. "What if I want a salad?" You challenge, the menu pressing awkwardly against the sides of your fingers. It's rigid. The binding is stiff. Perhaps, they were freshly printed? But these aged pages tell a different story.
"You're not having a salad, honey. We're at a nice place. Why don't you have the roast duck instead?"
"You been here before?" You ask, wondering if he's brought other girls here during the time you've been apart. But as soon as that thought enters your mind, you cast it out. Caleb wouldn't. He's not like that. And neither are you. But he doesn't have to be so smug about this all.
"Well, I had to make sure you'd like it," he replies off-handedly, signalling to a nearby waiter that you're ready to order. You expect Caleb to do the talking once the server arrives, but instead, he nods at you.
For a moment, you stare back at him, the gears slowly turning in your mind. And thenâ"Hi, um, I'll have the Beijing roast duck and my partner would likeâ" You glance down at the menu, saying the first dish you see, "The teriyaki glacier 51 toothfish, please." The waiter smiles at you and gathers up your menus.
"Any drinks?" You turn to Caleb and find him to be rather unhelpful. He's wearing this proud smirk, enjoying seeing you struggle like this.
You stutter, "U-uh, yes, please. Just a bottle of red wine."
"Which one, miss?"
"U-uh." You hadn't even gone through the drinks menu! Of course, a place like this has about 30 different varieties of red wine to choose from. "What. Do you recommend?" You ask, your words clunky like this is your first time speaking to a waiter.
Flipping open the extensive wine list, the server points to the reds section. "The 2017 CĂ´te D'Or Bourgogne by Benjamin Leuroux is my personal favourite. The fruit fades into the background, allowing a lightness to take centre stage. Very refreshing and moderately affordable." You eye the $380 next to the wine's name. Very affordable, indeed. "But if you're looking for something premium." The waiter directs your attention to the next page. "I'd suggest the 2013 Chambertin Grand cru by David Duband. Only two barrels were produced from vines over 50 years old. It's beautifully balanced with a broad range of earthy notes complemented by florals and a wild berry that creates a smooth finish. A truly exquisite wine, I can assure you." For over $2,500, you'd be expecting a pretty exquisite fucking wine, yeah.
Again, you meet Caleb's eyes, figuratively on your knees and pleading for him to utter a few words. But now, he seems distracted. He looks at you without really looking at you, smiles at you without smiling.
"Um. We'll have the first one you suggested. Thank you." You grin at the waiter, watching as he retreats before facing Caleb. "Hello-oh? I could have really used your help back there, dummy." He seems to recover from his daze, blinking back to reality at the sound of your irritated tone.
"On the contrary, I think you did great. I should let you take the lead more often," he says playfully.
You roll your eyes at him. "Yeah, yeah. I never wanna do that again. You didn't even give me enough time to look at the menu! And now I just ordered a $400 wineâ" His phone buzzes, promptly shutting you up. With a grimace, Caleb pulls out his phone and checks the notification.
"Sorry, honey. Work stuff. I'll be back in a minute, alright?" He pushes his chair out, rising to standing. Your eyes widen, your lips forming into a pout.
"Everything alright?"
"Yeah," he breathes out, quick to reassure you. "Let me handle this and then it'll just be you and me, okay? No more interruptions." You nod earnestly, watching with sinking shoulders as Caleb weaves through the tables to the exit. He's a busy man, you know. But it's hard to remember that when he always prioritises you. If he's not on a mission, then he'll be at your doorstep at the first sign of trouble, no hesitation, no 'Sorry, honey, I have a meeting' or other commitments coming between the two of you. You wonder what's so important that it could disturb him during your date. Maybe something went wrong at the HQ and he'll have to return right away. You sincerely hope not.
As you wait for him to return, you admire the patrons surrounding you. You see glittering pearls and shiny bald spots, beer bellies and opulent diamond rings. The overhead chandeliers are warm and cosy. A pianist in the corner plays, their fingertips agile and skilful. It isn't too long until Caleb sits before you once more, his phone out of sight.
"You okay?" You murmur, your brow puckered from concern.
"Yep. Everything's been taken care of. So where were we?" Caleb replies, sounding rather chipper. Your conversation comes easily, slipping into something comfortable. There's a push and pull, the two of you on the edge of your seats as you lap up the other's words like excited puppies. The food arrives all too soon, the wine poured by a different waiter to the one who took your orders. You have a sip, tasting the subtlety of the fruit. It really is quite refreshing and smooth on the way down.
"D'you like it?" You ask Caleb as he sets down his glass (he won't pick it up again for the remainder of the evening).
He shrugs. "It's a bit bland for my liking, but it's alright. How's the duck?" You pick up a tender slice with your fork and pop it into your mouth. Savoury-sweet bursts on your tongue. You can taste the onions it was roasted with. There's this slightly gamery undertone that you don't mind. Overallâ
"It's pretty good. D'you wanna try it?" You hold out a slice to Caleb. Leaning forward, he bites it off your fork, sitting back and tasting the duck.
"Mhm. It's nice," he says, beginning to cut into his own meal. You sample the toothfish you ordered for him and find it to be similar to king crabs with a hint of cucumber and honey. It's a delicacy. But you end up preferring your own dish to his.
"Told you you'd like the roast duck." Caleb smirks. His plate is empty, save for any spilt sauce.
"Yeah, yeah," you sigh offhandledly, reluctant to admit that he was right all along. After finishing your meal, you head to the bathroom to clean up. In the meantime, Caleb pays for your date. When you emerge from the ladies room, certain your makeup still looks good, you find him waiting for you nearby with the bottle of wine in hand.
As soon as you make it out of the restaraunt, you're slung over his shoulders, laughing giddily and kicking your feet while he walks back to the car. He sets you down in the passenger seat and fetches a blanket he conveniently had on hand, wrapping you up in it as you giggle uncontrollably. You only had a couple of glasses of that wine, but there's a buzz in your system. Your body feels hot, and the world moves slowly. You slip off your heels and get cosy as Caleb settles into the driver's seat and gets the car going.
Back at home, you stumble inside, barefoot, while Caleb nurses your heels, back-up shoes, handbag, and the wine. You dash over to the couch and collapse on it, your cheeks aching from smiling the entire ride home.
"Cayyy-leb," you coo. Mittens jumps down from the couch and runs off, probably to greet your date.
"Coming, honey." Within a minute or so, Caleb comes into view, holding the plate of banana bread he left at your place earlier and a glass of water.
Sitting next to you, he hands you the water and says, "Let's sober you up, huh?" You take a sip from the glass, eyes following Caleb's movements as he undoes the cling wrap covering the banana bread and places the plate on his lap. Picking it up, he aeroplanes the slice to your mouth, feeding you a generous bite between your chortles.
"How is it?"
"Yum-myyy." You grin, happily accepting the next bite he offers you. "Mhmmm, Caleb."
"Yes, honey?" You cover your mouth with your fingertips, intent on delaying the next bite.
"Caleb. I love you." Not an odd thing to say. But something you haven't said since that night all those months ago. The liquor has loosened up your tongue. You can't stop yourself from admitting, "And sometimes, I wish I didn't break up with you. You're so handsome and kind to me. But you've got a few screws loose, you know? Like⌠I think you're a bit fucked in the head. But I still like you." Caleb stares at you for a moment, mouth half-open, unsure of how to react. And then, he chuckles, shaking his head lightly.
"Is that so? Well, I like you, too, pipsqueak. I love you."
"I love how you take care of me," you counter. "And I love your cooking. And I miss your homemade lunches. I miss having you around and waking up with you by my side. And I miss our intimacy. I really miss it... I wish that we could rewind or something, that we could⌠I don't know. Be together again? Even if you're a little crazy, I still want to be with you. I just don't want to you to hurt me again."
Another bite of banana bread down the hatch. Only one little piece to go.
"HoneyâŚ" Caleb grasps your jaw, thumb swiping a crumb past your parted lips and onto your tongue. You taste the tip of his finger before it flees, hand falling down to your knee. "We'll talk about in the morning, okay?" So much he wants to say, lodged in the back of his throat. He chokes on it, lips sealed in an attempt to contain his heartfelt feelings.
You accept the final bite of banana bread Caleb pops into your mouth, munching on it calmy as you stare at him. The only man who's ever loved you like you were the very thing that kept him alive. With reverence. With respect. But also at times, with obsession. Your eyelids begin to feel heavy. That wine must have been stronger than you thought.
Quietly, you say, "I love you, Cay. I wantâŚ" You sway a little, finding it hard to keep upright. Caleb wraps his arms around you, pouting at the sight of his precious girl trying to fend off sleep after a long day (or rather, a teeny-weeny dose of valium). "I want to elope with you. Let's just get married. Somewhere in the moutains. Or maybe on an island. Just the two of us, and maybe a few friends." You yawn like a lion cub, adorable in Caleb's eyes as you snuggle into his warmth.
"HoneyâŚ" His tone holds a warning. He can't let himself fall prey to your sweet temptation. His fingers card through your hair, feeling the soft strands with a hesitant, yet elated smile on his face. Slowly, you drift off, knocked out real good before Caleb carries you to your bedroom. In true chivalry, he removes your makeup and changes you into a comfy pair of pajamas.
Pressing a tender kiss to your forehead, he whispers, "'M sorry," before straightening up and booking it to your front door. He's out for the early hours of the morning, staining his hands and suit crimson with the blood of that friendly waiter. After ordering Liam to dispose of the body, Caleb returns to your apartment; orange burnishes the dark sky. The sun rises as he showers, burgundy like that damned wine trickling down your drain. Eventually, he joins you in bed, your bodies fitting seamlessly together; the underlying scent of body wash that clings to your skin are the same.
His therapist taught him a valuable lesson, probably because he wasn't a therapist but a cardiac surgeon instead. Rather than quitting an addiction, you should learn to hide it better (or at least, that's what Caleb heard during a 2am phone call with the esteemed doctor last week). He'll give you the perfect life and pick off anyone who dares to disrupt that one-by-one. That's what scared you away. But how can you be afraid of something that's hidden from your view, unknown until Caleb makes a silly mistake. But that won't happen, he's certain of it now. Your separation didn't teach him to let something breathe so that it may flourish. Rather, it taught him to keep something in a spacious cage so it believes it can flourish.
elle's notes: just in case you were confused, when caleb leaves the restaurant to take a phone call, he's actually arranging with liam to have the waiter that recommended you wine picked up. He also cooked the banana bread with valium (or diazepam), which calms your nervous system and induces drowsiness. thus, when you eat it later on, coupled with the alcohol in your system, you fall asleep relatively quickly after the valium takes effect.
@starkissedxav - it's been a while, but i hope you like this!
side header images from pinterest (not mine, obviously). but i did take the centre photo of caleb when playing his myth ages ago. sword divider at the end is from fairytopea, and pearl dividers by anitalenia.

tw: dubcon, it could be noncon if you interpret it that way, overstimulation (brief mention), edging, somnophilia, dacryphilia, rafayel is crazy but also a romanticÂ
putting rafayel on a sex ban since that night he accidentally hurt you. it wasnât something big. rafayel was just pulling an orgasm after orgasm from you, overstimulating to the point of tears falling down your cheeks. since it was your first time with him, it got overwhelming real fast and you had asked him to stop. rafayel, who was lost in the pleasure of pleasing you, quickly stopped at the sound of your voice cracking and your weak attempt to shove him off. the lemurian wouldnât ever dare to hurt his beloved, immediately arranged an aftercare session after. you fall asleep safely in his arms while he gave you soft kisses on your face. you decided a sex ban was more than necessary after that incident. rafayel didnât complain much. âitâs okay. you can take your time, cutie.âÂ
for the first few days, it was fine for you. not for rafayel. he got to taste you, feel you, touched you in every way possible, see your vulnerability, and feel the intensity of the love from you and him. how was he supposed to act normal after? he needs to indulge in the feelings again. and thatâs how he finds himself in this situation. he swore he wasnât taking advantage or hurting you. he just loves you so much. words or paintings he spent hours on making couldnât describe the love he is having for you. you were sleeping peacefully, all exposed and defenseless on his bed. you were wearing his shirt with your underwear on. the pink one with a tiny bow at the centre, his favourite pair.Â
he lay down beside you, taking in the sight of you. he couldnât help himself but to slipped his hand past your panties. fuck, youâre wet. he let out a dry chuckle. âoh, cutie. you want me, huh? did you dream about me?â his fingers began to work as he rubbed on your clit. he exhaled deeply as his gaze turned to your sleeping face. âyouâre so cruel for this, cutie. how could you put me on a ban? you know i canât live without you.â his other hand slipped past his sweatpants, gripping his already hard cock. âf-fuck⌠n-need you, cutieâŚâ he continued on rubbing your clit until he heard an involuntary soft moan coming from you. ââŚyou like that? of course, you do. câmon, give me moreâŚâ his fingers moved to your soaked cunt, before he shoved his fingers inside you.Â
your body was jolted awake at the sensation. your vision was blurry as you saw rafayel beside your figure. it took you about a minute to realise he had his fingers inside you. ârafayelâŚ? w-what are you doingâŚ?â upon realising youâre awake, he gave you a soft kiss on the cheek. âjust giving you what you need.â you try to shove him away, but it was a  useless attempt as he pinned you down. âi already said youâre on a banâŚâ he just replied with a hum, staring at you with a darkened gaze. âi know, cutie. but i need you so badly. i want to love you. i want to touch and worship your body until every part of it becomes mine.âÂ
for a moment, you forgot how rafayel isnât a human. he doesnât understand how humanâs morality works. saying no and asking him to stop wouldnât work. the ban was useless. you stopped fighting him as you let your body indulge in the pleasure. âthatâs it, cutie. isnât it better when you stop fighting and just let me worship you?â he leaned in and kissed your lips, while his fingers pumped in and out of your soaked pussy. he switched to rub and pinch your clit, making you cry out into his mouth. he pulled away, taking in the pathetic sight of you. âoh, cutie. i havenât even give my all yet youâre crying? you are so sensitive. i should have known. you are just a human, after all.â a mean chuckle escaped his lips. he was giving you a mock sympathy and that made you feel like you wanted to burst more. âdo you wanna cum, cutie? I can feel that youâre close. wanna make a mess on my fingers, yeah?â he fastened his pace, rubbing and fingering you. your hips bucked as you could feel reaching the peak. ây-yes⌠rafâŚ! let me cumâŚ! please!âÂ
just as you were about to ride your high, rafayel pulled his fingers away. you whimpered at the loss feeling. you were so close, why did he stop? âraf⌠whyâŚ? i was closeâŚâ you cried as your hips jerked up to search for any friction to satisfy your need. but he held you down, as he smiled at you. âdidnât you cry and sob the last time i made you finished- like what, 4 times? i thought you didnât like it, cutie. figure edging would make you feel better.âÂ

you had always suspected of rafayel having a crying kink. to be exact, on you. hell will have to freeze first before you even have the chance to take the lead and dominate him. he never really allowed you to take the lead whenever you both are being intimate with each other.
you remember it being called dacryphilia or something, thanks to your obsession on spending your time reading stuff online.
rafayel really made it subtle at first. he plunged his cock deep inside you, before dragging it out to hear you whine at the loss feeling.
âr-rafayel, why would you pull outâŚ?â your voice came in in a high pitched tone, as your hips moved to find rafayelâs cock.
you looked back to look at rafayel. his breath hitched, as he feels his cock twitched at the sight of your face. he swears to the gods above he just gets harder than he ever been before on catching the glimpse of tear in your eyes.
god, he wanna break you.
âshh, itâs okay. just breathe for me, cutie,â rafayel leaned down to kiss your damp cheek, before thrusting his dick back into your wet cunt.
rafayel couldnât believe his own restraint that night. he was so close to just break you down, hurt you the way he knows you would like it, but he knows better than to do that out of the blue.
the second time it happened is when you tried to ride him yourself.
ângh- r-rafayel⌠i- i canât do it myself. help meâŚâ you whimpered as you struggled to sink all the way down on his cock, as he was just too big.
rafayel let out a nasty chuckle, as his slender hands gripped the fat of your hips to steady your body. youâve been stuck trying to sink down on his cock for at least half an hour now.
you promised to him that you wanted to take him all by yourself tonight, craving to show him how good you can be. you thought it would be easy, as taking him was never really a struggle before.
but you were mistaken. it was only easy because of rafayelâs generous help, as you now realised you had never taken him all by yourself.
his cock is so stupidly big and thick, damn him.
âbuuuut cutie, didnât you promised me that you wanna take my cock all by yourself? donât you wanna be good for me?â rafayel nuzzled your cheek, breathing in your warm scent, before planting a soft kiss on it.
you whined in response. youâve been trying so hard, but rafayel didnât even spare a thought to help you. mean. you cursed him, mumbling the best insults you could think at the moment as your hips moved again to take his cock in.
the eagerness of trying to make him proud of you and feeling the euphoria at the same time drove you to finally push in his cock fully inside your walls.
the sensation made you moaned and rafayel grunted in pleasure. he can feel the tip of his cock leaking of precum hitting at the end of your walls.
ânow move. câmon, you can do this. be good for me, cutie,â rafayel murmured, he held himself back from taking over and thrust himself into you.
you gave him a small nod, as you rise your hips up and then back down again. it was a sloppy action, you couldnât find the perfect rhythm to keep the ride satisfying for both you and him.
you didnât want to give up, but all the feelings from earlier had been building up inside of you, it makes you frustrated.
why couldnât i do this right? i just want to please him.
rafayel noticed how your body language was showing signs of frustration. he wanted to feel bad and helped, but a tear that left your eye stopped him from doing so.
youâre crying, stressed and frustrated. ah, rafayel wants to break you even more.
âr-rafayelâŚ! please, help me. ngh- i-i canât-â you donât even know if youâre even moving at this point. it felt sloppy and useless.
rafayel gripped your hips, inching his face closer, as his lips grazed against yours. you thought rafayel would guide you to ride his cock.
how you were wrong.
rafayel pulled his face back, as he chuckled and grin at your disheveled state. âno.â
you let out a broken whimper at his answer. your tears broke down like a dam, all the pent up frustration thatâs been building up escaping your system.
rafayel cooed at the pitiful sight. he got closer just to lick your tears with his tongue. âwhy are you crying? werenât you the one who wanted this? why are you acting like the victim, cutie? iâm hurt.â
âr-raf- i-i- p-please-!â your words slurred as you keep clenching around his dick, gripping him with your tight walls.
âcanât even form a sentence. did i break your brain, baby? i didnât even do anything, though,â he snickered, taking in your condition as a joke to him.
your face were soaked with tears, hiccuping over and over again. you were beyond frustrated, feeling like your lower limbs are numbed.
you hide yourself in his chest, feeling too vulnerable in this state.
but rafayel was quick to grip and gather your hair into a ponytail, pulling you back from hiding in, making you whined in pain.
âah, ah, donât do that, cutie. i was just about to have fun. after all, my beloved bride did promise me to be good tonight. you can be good by giving me your tears more. you look so pretty crying for me.â
at least now your suspicion is valid.
hereâs a fish snack omg i havenât write him for so long

pairings: Baker!Higuruma x chubby!fem reader x Baker!Nanami
mdni 18+: your lonliness has been at an all time high since your bum ass boyfriend cheated on you. So, you end up in a small bakery where you can eat your sorrows away. But, when you see the two hot owners of the establishment, you wonder whether they can eat you?
includes: chubby/curvy reader | EIFFEL TOWER | pussy eating | fingering | everyone making out w/each other | oral sex (f + m receiving) | food play | squirting | cum everywhere
You're walking around the street alone, dress and hair sticking to your body from the rain, heels nowhere to be found, and mascara running down your puffy cheeks.Â
You were supposed to meet up at your boyfriend's place for your anniversary dinner. You spent hours on your look. From the products you put in your hair, to the dress that accentuates your gorgeous figure, all the way down to the heels you bought for this occasion. You guys were planning on going to a well known restaurant downtownâwell more like you were planning it. Your boyfriend kind of let you take the reins on the whole thing. You made the reservation months in advance and made sure to tell him everyday to cancel any work plans he had that day. So, it is a shocker to you when you walk up to his place, open the door with the spare key he gave you, and see some bitch bouncing on your boyfriend's dick like she has all the time in the world.Â
You stand there in shock, but it seems like they haven't noticed you from the loud moaning and slapping of skin. So, you decide to do what any normal person would doâscream and start smashing his shit.Â
You first grab the nearest vase and throw it straight at the wall near their heads grabbing their attention. "The fuck?" screams the chick who's name you don't even care to know. You then take off your heels and chuck each at both of them.
"You asshole! How could you do this to me? After everything we've been through, you fuck it up for some whore?" Your eyes are stinging with tears but you don't dare let them fall. You grab another vase that coincidently contains flowers that you bought him on a whim one day.Â
"No baby i'm sorry please, it was an accident! She doesn't mean anything I swear!" He has his arms out trying to calm you down. But you are way past calm right now. Not after you've been calm about everything else during this relationship.
The woman stands up and smacks him, "Oh I don't mean anything? That's funny since you were pumping my pussy full of cum for months!" Then everything inside you freezes.
"Months?" You shakily ask.Â
The woman slowly walks up to you with her hands out, "He's been seeing me for around five months. He never mentioned that he was in a relationship. I promise I would have never gotten with him if he was."Â
Your blood had run cold, the both of you have been together for about a year. You were going to celebrate that year tonight. A year where you thought you finally met the love of your life, your soulmate, the person you called home. The image shattered completely in the past five minutes.Â
Slowly, you put the vase down, your eyes move to look at their faces one final time, you turn on your bare heels, and walk out the door with the little bit of dignity you have left.Â
ăťâĽăť
Now back to the present, you are aimlessly walking the dark street. Heartbroken and really fucking hungry, you notice a shop's light on. You trudge your way over to the warm lighting and walk in. With the bell announcing your presence, you take in the atmosphereâsoft lights, glass display counter with various pastries that look absolutely delectable, small tables surrounding you, and a little cash register. As you are looking around, you don't notice the two tall shadows looming over you until a large hand is on your shoulder.Â
"Excuse me miss?" A deep voice rumbled behind you. Startled, you quickly turn around and are met with two tall, handsome men. One with blonde hair, hazel eyes, sharp jawline, and a stern look with a bit of softness in his eyes. The other has dark brown hair, gloomy eyes, and a slightly aquiline nose. Both are beautiful and you start to feel a bit self conscious of your appearance.Â
"Oh! Hello, I'm sorry for coming in so late, this place was the only one I saw that still had their lights on." You say as your eyes meet the blonde haired man.Â
"It's alright, but we are closed, we were just cleaning up." The blonde man gestures towards the clock, it reading half past nine.Â
You politely apologise again and turn to leave but the other man stops you with a hand on your shoulder, "Are you alright? You're soaked and barefoot." He points out.Â
You don't know why but the way these two men are looking at you have you tearing up again. They look at each other once, a silent conversation occurring between them and they immediately start moving. One of them moves you to sit on a chair while the other grabs a towel from the kitchen in the back.Â
"Are you hungry sweetheart?" The brunette one questions.Â
"No, I'm alright thank you." You lie. But, right after you say this, your stomach growls in the silence of the bakery. He softly smiles and rises from his chair.Â
"What would you like to eat? We have an assortment of pastries to pick from." He motions his head over to the display case of pastries.Â
Your eyes are immediately drawn to the single slice of strawberry shortcake in the case. He notices how your eyes shine bright when you eye the cake. "That's our most popular one, would you like a slice? It's free of charge." He asks you but is already donning gloves to plate it for you.Â
Once he sets down the cake with a plastic fork, you immediately start digging in. The taste was phenomenalâfrom the decadent taste of the strawberries, the sponge of the cake, and the way the whipped cream melts on your tongue, you feel like you've tasted a piece of heaven. Not to mention it was served by a very attractive man.Â
While you are eating, the blonde man comes out with a soft towel and drapes it over your shoulder. You then look up from your plate to see them both looking fondly upon you. Placing your fork down on your plate you thank them both for the delicious cake and ask them for their names.Â
"Nanami Kento." The blonde responds.
"Higuruma Hiromi." answers the brunette.Â
"Thank you, to the both of you." You smile, but it doesn't reach your eyes. They scoot a little closer to you, one on either side of you.Â
Nanami places a gentle hand on your shoulder, caressing it gently, "What happened darling?"Â
"Its a long story but overall, my boyfriend of a year cheated on me the day of our anniversary." You choke out, trying not to cry in front of these attractive bakers.Â
"Forgive me for saying this sweetheart but he's a fucking idiot." Higuruma scoffs, absolutely appalled at the fact that someone could hurt someone as beautiful as you. That someone could make tears run down those gorgeous cheeks.Â
You laugh at that statement which puts a smile on his face. "I should have seen this coming, I mean you should have seen the girl he was with. She had the body of a modelâperfect skin, hair, face. I could never compete." They make eye contact with each other with a frown, then a slow smirk makes way to their faces.Â
"How would you like to come over to our place? I really don't recommend that you are by yourself during a time like this." Nanami suggests, Higuruma nodding along.Â
You wave your hands in front of you trying to decline their offer, "Oh I really couldn't impose on you both. This is something I have to deal with by myself."Â
Your mind is all over the place at the moment. You catch your boyfriend cheating on you, then you end up in a bakery with two handsome bakers that want to take you home with them.Â
"You know what? Fuck it let's go."Â
ăťâĽăť
Nanami picks you up as if you weighed nothing and carries you to their car because of your lack of shoes. Once he places you in the back seat, cushioned leather seats providing you a sense of comfort, Higuruma sits in the passenger seat and Nanami starts the car. The car roars to life as you all head to their place.Â
Once you arrive, you notice how nice their complex looks. Tall building with sleek glass windows reflecting everything in view. Before you could open the car door, Higuruma already beat you to itâopening the door and immediately picking you up without breaking a sweat so you don't have to touch the ground with your bare feet.Â
He carries you with Nanami trailing behind him to the elevator, clicks a floor number and you all stand there as the elevator slowly rises. It is silent until you start giggling, finding this entire ordeal hilarious. The men look at you a bit confused until they chuckle to themselves as wellâdeep voices rumbling off the walls and Higuruma's chest sending calming vibrations throughout your body.Â
The elevator door dings as you all reach their floor. You make it inside the apartment and it's a very cozy atmosphere. Dim lighting all around, small kitchen enough for two people, a living room with some soft throw blankets, and a little coffee table with some magazines.Â
Higuruma finally places you down on the hardwood floor and they both watch you walk further in, admiring the slight gleam in your eyes as you take in the place. Nanami speaks up, "Would you like to take a shower?" He offers and your eyes immediately perk up. This whole situation had your mind so scrambled that you didn't even realize that you looked a mess.Â
"Yes please." You respond thankful, walking with him to the bathroom. He hands you a towel, toothbrush, and spare pajamas that definitely belong to one of them. You close the door to the bathroom and actually take a good look at yourself in the mirror over the sink. Your face streaked with mascara and eyeliner, eyes puffy, hair damp, and dress slowly drying up. You look like a mess and everything comes back to the forefront of your brain. The way the woman was on top of him, the shock in his face for being caught, the shattered vase, all of it comes back. Your eyes begin watering again and you start to sniffle, then sob, finally allowing yourself to break.Â
Removing your clothes, you step in the shower to hopefully wash off this whole night. You scrub your face hard enough to wash off every remnant of your tears, wash the rain water out of your hair, and scrub the rest of your body.Â
Stepping out of the shower, you change into the clothes they lended you. Large tshirt over the clean boxers that hug your thighs and ass beautifully. Brushing your teethâ you take a look into the mirror again at your much cleaner state. You walk out of the bathroom and you hear movement coming from another room. Following the sounds of footsteps and rustling, you reach a bedroom. Peeking inside you see both men folding blankets and fluffing pillows. They notice you at the door and with gentle smiles, gesture for you to come in.Â
"You can stay here as long as you would like." Nanami said. "We will take the couches."
You don't know why you said the next words that came out of your mouth but something about the way they have looked at you, made a warmth bloom in your chest, so you told them, "If it's not too much trouble, you could both say here with me? The bed is big enough for all three of us."Â
They stare at you for a beat before nodding and you all get comfortable on the king size bed. Nanami lying on your left and Higuruma your right, and youâsurrounded by the warmth of two men who came to your rescue, you all drift off to sleep.Â
ăťâĽăť
The sun is shining through the blinds when you wake up alone in bed. The warmth of the two bakers gone. You look around for any sign of them until your eyes stumble across a note on the nightstand:
We left for the bakery, you may help yourself to anything in our home. Stop by around closing to try our new poundcake recipe.
Nanami: xxx-xxx-xxxxÂ
Higuruma: xxx-xxx-xxxx
Text or call us if you need anything.Â
You smile at the note and grab your phone to put both of their numbers in. Not wanting to go to the solitude of your apartment, you decide to lounge around the apartment for the day, preparing small meals for yourselfânot really feeling like eating but have to for the sake of your health.Â
Once you check the clock, you see that it is almost closing at the bakery. You don't want to show up wearing pajamas so you call for a ride to your house to freshen up. Once you've changed you make your way to the bakery. Walking through the door, you don't see anyone around so you call out to them. There was no answer but you hear the clash of some type of pot or pan and you immediately head towards the back area.Â
As you get closer to the kitchen, you hear groans along with small smacking noises. When you finally reach the noise, what you see makes your jaw drop for the second time in 24 hours. There in the kitchen is Nanami and Higuruma deeply making out with one another. Higuruma leaning against a metal table in the center of the kitchen while Nanami is roughly gripping his hips.Â
You're standing there for a good two minutes watching them shove their tongues down each other's throats before Higuruma notices your presence. He pulls away from Nanami and that makes him turn to you as well.Â
"Hello sweetheart, are you enjoying the show?" Higuruma chuckles.
"I-I didn't mean to stare, I just heard a loud bang and-"Â
"It's alright darling," Nanami interrupts, "You can join if you'd like."
"But you told me to come over to try a new poundcake reci-" You cut yourself off, finally connecting the dots.
"Ah~ you finally understood the message," Higuruma says while slowly walking up to you, circling you like a sharkâNanami doing the same.Â
On any other day, a situation like this would make you feel scared and disgusted, but right now, you just feel a heat pooling down in your core. A heat that only they could fix.Â
"Tell us you don't want this sweetheart, and we'll stop." Nanami whispers in your ear.Â
Your face feels like it's on fire from their intense stares. Both of them come closer to you, invading your space and filling your senses with their scent. Higuruma plants a soft kiss on your neck which makes you moan softly. Nanami follows suit with a sweet kiss on the other side of your neck. "Please, don't stop."Â
You are then grabbed by the waist and pulled against Higuruma's chest, his hands roaming your plump body. Namami's hands find purchase on your chest, lightly squeezing and grazing your nipples through the fabric of your shirt. Higuruma's hands slide down to your soft hips and he rubs small circles in an almost comforting gesture.Â
"May I take this off?" Nanami tugs at the hem of your top. You nod, but that's not enough for him, "Use your words darling." He watches your eyes intensely as you open your mouth to speak, "Yes, please." He smiles and slowly lifts the garment over your head, exposing your torso to the slight chill in the air. He moves a hand to the back of your bra, unclipping it slowly to give you time if you want to back out. Once he removes it, he lightly grazes your pebbling nipples with the pads of his thumbs.Â
"Gorgeous," He murmurs seemingly to himself, "So perfect."
He leans down to kiss the valley of your breasts while Higuruma watches. You move your hand to the nape of his neck, breathing heavy at the softness of his lips touching your skin. Higuruma's hands drift lower to take off your skirt and graze his fingertips over your cute panties.Â
Your breath hitches when he pulls them to the side and pulls apart your drenched folds with his index and middle finger, exposing your cunt to the air. "Your drenched babyâdid watching us make out turn you on that much?" He chuckles in your ear, the rumbling from his chest making your body burn with need.Â
He takes his fingers and starts to slowly rub small circles on your clit, drawing soft moans from your throat. Nanami catches your moans in a long kiss, his tongue grazing your bottom lip to grant him access and you open your mouth wider to let him in. The kiss is sloppy, wet, still trying to catch up with his rhythm. You moans grow louder as Higuruma sticks a finger inside your warm hole, groaning at the feeling of your pussy squeezing him tight. He whispers in your ear, "Relax sweetheart, let us take care of you."Â
Nanami releases your lips from that bruising kiss, leaving you in a daze. He holds your face in his large hands, thumbs slightly brushing your cheeks, "What would you like us to do sweet girl? This is for you." You look into his eyes that are boring into yours and you whisper, "I need your mouth, here." You gesture towards your pussy that is currently being filled by Higuruma's fingers.Â
Letting go of your face, Nanami slowly goes down on his knees, breathing over your spread lips before licking a long stripe up from Higuruma's fingers to your clit. You let out a loud moan that is cut off by Higuruma turning your head to capture your lips in another searing kiss.Â
The only noises in the kitchen are the squelching wetness of Nanami's tongue and Higuruma's fingers going in and out of your pussyâboth of them going faster once your moans become louder and you start to clench around them. It all reaches a peak once he presses against that soft spot inside of you, making you see stars, "ohmygodâfuuuck" you moan as you release all over his fingers and Nanami's face.Â
They let you take a breath by placing you on top of the counter in the center of the room. You watch them get undressed completely, removing their chef jackets, aprons, and trousers until they are in nothing but their shoes.Â
"Are you okay sweet girl? Do you think you can handle both of us?" Nanami smirks at your shocked expression, but you get off the table to stand in front of him. You start wiggling your hips, rubbing your ass against Nanami's cock but he stops you. You're confused until you look up and see Higuruma standing in front of you holding a container of what appears to be buttercream and a spatula.Â
He opens the container, sticks a finger inside and scoops a little bit of the cream, and smears it on your lips. You stick out your tongue and you pause. It tasted amazingâit wasn't too sweet or dense, the perfect balance of light and fluffy. Nanami turns your head towards him to lick the remaining cream off, moaning into your mouth.Â
"Delicious," Nanami moans into your mouth, "I could get used to this."
You giggle as you lean down to plant a feather light kiss to the tip of Higuruma's cock. His breath hitches as you go from a kiss to kitten licks. While you are doing this, he takes the spatula, picking up some cream and smearing a dollop on your back. He places the container and spatula down on the table and grabs some of your hair to move you on his cock. While this is happening, Nanami grabs your ass, drags his cock over your slick and moves it inside your swollen pussy in one push.Â
You moan around Higuruma's cockâthe vibrations causing him to moan out into the air. With both of them filling you on both ends, they start to moveâHiguruma moving forward, pushing you into Nanami, and Namani pushing you back into Higuruma. The feeling is overwhelming but feels amazing. You feel them getting closer together then hear the smacking noises that you heard earlier happening above you. You take your mouth off of Higuruma's cock and turn your head to look up and see both of them making out right over your back.
Higuruma breaks apart from Nanami to look down at you, "Did I say you could stop?" He growls as he grabs your hair and moves you back to his cock. Both men bend down to lick at the cream on your back âtongues lapping up the sticky substance before going back to roughly kissing each other.Â
It is a mess of skin slapping together and moans coming from all around. You all find a comfortable rhythm. Their hands explore your whole bodyâgroping your plump breasts, squeezing your hips, and Nanami's hand travels down to your clit. He rubs languid circles while fucking into you, pushing Higuruma's cock deeper into your mouth.Â
"I bet your boyfriend couldn't ever fuck you like this. He couldn't make a gorgeous woman like yourself feel this good." Nanami's voice rumbles behind you.Â
"mhmmm~" You moan around Higuruma's cock, trying to respond.Â
"I think her mouth is full Kento." Higuruma laughs, pushing the rest of his cock into your warm mouth. Tears are welling up in your eyes as his happy trail tickles your nose. Your starting to feel a pressure building up in your lower stomach as you near your second orgasm of the night. You notice they are close too because of the quickening pace of their cocks.Â
"Where do you want our cum baby?" One of them say but you are so fucked out you can't make out who.
You pull off Higuruma's cock to respond, "I-I want it inside-haah-please I need it."Â
He grabs your face and caresses your jaw before using his other hand to grab a handful of your hair and shove your mouth back on him. You feel Nanami's hips stutter before he stills and fills up your pussy with continuous ropes of cum.Â
Higuruma's iron grip in your hair tightens as he fills your throat with his cum, making you swallow every drop. Your eyes roll to the back of your head as you spill all over Nanami's cock. Your legs shake almost collapsing before Nanami wraps his arms around you to hold you up.Â
He carries you to sit on the table, the cold metal a distinct contrast on your warm and swollen ass from the intensity of Nanami's pelvis smacking against you. Higuruma comes to give you a glass of water and you nod your head thankful.Â
"Drink up pretty, because we aren't done with you yet." Your eyes refocus on Higuruma's hungry gaze, "You still haven't come on my cock."
After tonight, your life was changed, forever.

PAIRING: Yandere!Caleb x Blind!Reader
TAGS: Disability and blindness, possessive Caleb, yandere tendencies, violence and blood, overprotective Caleb, taking advantage of a disability, SFW but contains mature themes, use of the nickname 'pip-squeak'.
SUMMARY: You wore a pair of gorgeous eyes that could not aid you throughout your life. Luckily for you, your childhood companion would be the vessel of sight you always needed. And at the end of it all, you would have his warm embrace to return to.
WORD COUNT: 2,775 words.
You had never known what a home was like. Not because you suffered from the lack of one, no. You had a homeâa large, two-storey house with white walls and an isolated attic, or so you had been told. Your home had been inhabited by three people. You knew that, of course. As a child, you would lie on top of Grandma, press your ear against her heart, and listen to her rhythmic heartbeat. You had learned that the steady thump... thump... thump... of a person's heart was proof of their presence. Each day, you heard two sets of heartbeats in your home, belonging to the people you cherished the most.
You had been raised with piles of books engraved with odd textures, an endless supply of home tutors, and a heavy stick to aid you for the rest of your life. You remembered tracing your fingers down your first white cane, feeling the cold aluminium against your fingertips. "It will accompany you through your entire life," Grandma had said. But it hadn't. Your cane had broken two years later. It had snapped in half after you dared Caleb to play baseball with it. It had been entirely your fault, of course. You still cringed at the argument that had led to the inevitable. It had started when Caleb caught you referring to your cane as your best friend. In the end, the cane didnât last. Neither had the bond you shared with it. When it broke, he'd promised to get you a new one. But it always took weeks. Your 'best friend' hadn't rushed to your aid during those weeks. But Caleb did.
"Can you carry me down the stairs, Caleb?"
As you had grown, you had found people to be more reliable than poles or sticks. You had believed you were truly fortunate to have such a loving, accepting friend whose shoulders were always free for you to lean on. He had carried you through the roughest terrains, through the darkest of forests, without ever bearing a single crack. All the white canes you had after your first break had eventually been rendered unsuitable for bearing your weight. But Caleb had never complained. He had never asked a crumb of you when you had to rely on him to drive you to places. Never had he turned a blind eye to the constant bullying you had faced at the hands of the neighbourhood kids. Although you couldn't see, you could feel. And you had felt that you were right at home. Home had been where Caleb was. Only with him had you felt at home. With him, you had been seen, loved, and cherished.
"Where'd you get that bruise, pip-squeak?"
A natural consequence of being born with a disability was having to face constant bullying. You recall the first day you'd received the white cane. That afternoon, you'd insisted on walking alone without the assistance of Grandma or Caleb. The warm sun kissed your skin as you inched along the gravel. Birds chirped with renewed fervour as if the world had applauded your confidence. Today is a great day, you thought. Not only had you received your first walking cane, but you'd also achieved a feat most normal kids could not-- you'd snuck out of your window all by yourself. Moments like these made you believe you were just a normal girl living life with a small hindrance. For the first time, you felt invincible. What you overlooked, however, was how their presence was not merely a means to protect you from tripping over your feet or getting lost in the streets. They'd also shielded you from what you couldn't see-- the ill gazes of people who wished to utilise your blindness.
It hurt a lot: the bruises. Many a time, they would flog you with your own cane, smacking it over your head and shoving you with its tip all while they guffawed and cackled as they would with an odd-looking dog. They would rub dirt into your eyes and mock you-- "What? They're useless anyway! Who cares if they hurt?" Their actions left large red stripes across your skin that would deepen into a dark purple as you limped home. Not that you could see them, of course. The cold of the evening settled in around you, causing a shiver to travel up your spine. You'd assumed it'd be dark by now. Not that it mattered in your world. But you were often told that the darkness bore nothing but cruelty. If that were true, was your world merely one of savagery and ill intent? Was it even darkness that you saw? Or do you simply see nothing? You couldn't tell. You could see neither darkness nor nothing. Were they even different?
You were blind. You couldn't see. But you could feel. You felt his anger radiating from him, causing a lump to form in your throat. All because you'd replied, "I just got bullied a little."
A pregnant pause followed your confession. You were blind. You couldn't distinguish between an uncomfortable silence and a pleasant one. You couldn't decipher it from the looks on their faces, neither could you tell by the behaviour they exhibited. But you could feel the clench of his jaw, the grit of his teeth through which he forced his voice. His tone shifted-- farther from concern, farther from warmth, and he uttered a singular unsophisticated word that confirmed your doubts-- "Who?" You could hear his movements. The irk in his steps, the angry shuffle of his jacket, the creak of floorboards under his weight, and the abrupt slam of the door that left you speechless and bitter. You nudged Grandma's sleeve after analysing the silence the two of you shared. Your fingers curled around the hem of her maxi. You looked up to where you assumed she would be, and a single tear slipped down your swollen eyes. "Grandma," your fingers trembled, "Is Caleb mad at me?"
By the time you began to chase after him, it had started to rain. The downpour sliced through your skin, hampering your sense of sound. You'd ditched your white cane back at home and scurried after him as fast as you could, placing your trust in the enraged and hurried thumps of his boots against the concrete to guide you. Only for the rain to hail in and throw you off course by completely overwhelming the sound of his footsteps. Great. You'd gone too far to be able to find your way back home as well.
But you'd called this upon yourself, hadn't you? They were merely the consequences of your foolish actionsâthe aftermath of being naĂŻve and weak. You were not invincible. You were not a normal girl. You were blind. And you'd dared to overstep your authority. It was only natural that you paid for your actions.
Your shirt clung to your chest uncomfortably, creating odd creases across your body. Your damp hair occasionally slipped into your eye. You swiped it away and tucked it behind your ear as you ran across the empty streets. If you were to find yourself under the wheels of a truck, nobody would be there to come to your aid. But that didn't matter. Because this was what you deserved. You were simply experiencing karma.
Hot tears mixed with the cold beads of rain. The mixture slid down your cheek. Some entered your mouth, leaving it saltier than it already was. Some fell to the ground, rendering it indistinguishable from the thousands of droplets that fell each second. You didn't know where you were headed. You'd followed the sound of the pavement to keep yourself off the road, but you had no idea where you were. Had you run to another city? Or had you circled back home? Earlier, you'd slithered out of Grandma's grip before she could lock you away in your room and go searching for him herself. But with you on the loose alongside Caleb, she was sure to come chasing after you as well. Had you run so fast she'd lost track of you? Perhaps. Because she wasn't coming. Judging by the absence of sound, she was nowhere near you.
After half an hour of running, your knees buckled. You came to rest beside a railing. Your hands gripped onto it, subtly tracing the intricate design as you panted against it. You inched forward with its support. Your feet throbbed as you walked, and you were sure the soles of your sneakers were torn as well. Oh, well. All you'd hoped for was that Grandma would find you, miserable and soaked in the rain, and take you back home with her as she stuffed your ears with various reprimands. But you were okay with that. As long as you returned to the warmth of the fireplace by the living room window, you were content. You doubted whether you deserved that as well.
Eventually, your fingers met the cold, wet metal surface of an indented sign. You traced the wordsâ"Willow Whimsy Park." Your breath hitched in your throat, and your hands flew around in search of the place where the fence ended. You rushed in through the opening, your breaths escaping in ragged spasms. He must've been here. He must've!
"Pip-squeak?"
The world stilled. The patter of raindrops against your head became insignificant when your ears caught Caleb's voice. You'd expected him to be angry, to lash out and yell for you to go away. You'd expected him to hate you. To call you weak and pathetic, as you deserved. Yet how he called out your name was none of that. It was soft. Surprisingly gentle. You treaded closer, and you broke down once you were near enough to feel his breath on your face. Tears streamed down your face, painting a sleek path down your chin. Your chest heaved as you wailed ceaselessly. Foul, ugly cries escaped from deep within your throat. You sobbed and sobbed, leaving no place for Caleb to squeeze a word in. With a burdened sigh, he wrapped his arm around you and pulled you closer until your face was pressed against his chest. Despite your futile squirms, he held on tightly, his grip unrelenting. His fingers curled around your forearm a notch tighter, as if conveying his refusal to let you go in time of need. At last, you gave in. You nuzzled your face against his torso and cried your heart out. You sobbed until your throat screeched in protest. But Caleb did not move. Not a single word left his chapped lips. He simply stood there, willing to linger as long as you'd take to vent your sorrows. Even as you pounded your fists on his chest weakly, he did not complain. He simply stood, his arm coiling around you a little tighter with each sniffle. He treated you with unrelenting patience, and his gaze bore a devotion that gnawed at your skin and begged for a pathway into your soul. It was comforting. It was warm. He felt like home.
When your sobs had died down, Caleb released his grip. You raised your chin. Your sleeve rubbed against your face as you wiped the remnants of your tears away. But the drenched fabric aided only in wetting your face further. You looked up at Caleb and swallowed the sobs that threatened to erupt from your throat. With a shaky voice, you cried, "Why did you leave me?!"
You didn't know how, but you felt his eyes soften. The intensity of his gaze dissipated, leaving him with a gentle smile on his face. "What do you mean?"
"You were mad at me, weren't you? So you stormed off." You fumbled around before grasping his palm. "I'm sorry, okay? I won't ever sneak out ever again! I'll do all the dishes, and I'llâ"
Caleb cradled your face with his right hand. His thumb brushed over your cheek tenderly. You could swear, however, that his hand was far more calloused than usual. They also carried a scent that was unfamiliar to you, a scent you'd later go on to realise. But back then, that touch erased your worries, allowing you to sink into a whirlpool of warmth. It was as if he reached into your frozen conscience and brought upon it the warmest summer you encountered.
"I wasn't mad." He said, his voice akin to a spring breeze. "Not at you. I stormed out to find the people that..." he spaced out, tracing a bruise under your eye. "That did this to you." You blinked, your sharp senses picking up on the harsh undertone of his voice. The emphasis left you baffled. Was the sun truly capable of such cruelty? You nuzzled into his palm to feel his marred skin graze against your cheek. Had he always hidden his anger behind the veil of your eyes?
"They got away, though." His tone shifted, although unnervingly so. "I'll get them tomorrow. Let's go home, now, pip-squeak. Grandma must be worried."
A smile graced your lips. Caleb returned your joy with a tap on the corner of your lipâa gesture that belonged to the two of you. He let out a hum, shifting his weight from one leg to the other. The downpour raged on. Thunder began to drum against your ears. "How did you find me without your cane? I guess we're meant to be." You giggled. Although you would've never known he truly believed what he said.
Your mouth opened, "Achoo!"
In a slow, deliberate movement, he interlocked your fingers with his and brought it to his side. "Let's go home. Or else, you'll catch a fever." He guided you through the entrance, looking back occasionally to ensure you didn't trip over your feet.
At the entrance gate, Caleb paused, glancing over his shoulder to take one last look at the scene before him. He was relieved you couldn't see. He was relieved the boys had obeyed. If they'd as much as made a peep, his lie would be caught. What then? How could he have regained your trust? What reason did he have for the boys who were sprawled out in the mud, their faces littered with bruises he did not know he was capable of inflicting? What excuse would he propose in retaliation against your accusationâwhy had he frightened and 'persuaded' them into not uttering a single whimper or cry, despite their mangled states? And the worst of all was how he did not regret any of the choices he made under the shower of rain. He hadn't thought of taking back the punches that were delivered, nor did he ponder whether the consequences of his actions were too dire to endure. With each shove, with each kick, and with each crack, the lesser he began to feel. After all, he did vow to you.
"What's wrong, Caleb?"
Caleb turned on his heels to face you. He leaned in, tucking a soaked strand behind your ear. "Nothing. I just wanted to let you know..."
After all, he did vow to you: "I will always protect you, pip-squeak. I've made it my life mission."
Caleb was grateful to the veil before your eyes. If you could see, you would have seen the sheer cruelty of this world. This world was far too pernicious for you. Blind or not, in every life, in every body, he would have covered your eyes. The darkness you'd have to endure was temporary, insignificant to the fruits of his labour. You didn't deserve a glance at the suffering that plagues your world. The storms you encounter in this world should not exist.
You tilted your head. "You don't have to make up for leaving me behind. It was completely my fault!"
He wrapped his hand around the back of your head. "I'm not. Well, anyway, let's find Grandma."
Before he could lead the way, you leapt onto him from behind, fastening your arms around his neck. "Thank you, Caleb."
He chuckled. "What for?"
"For giving me a home."
He ruffled your hair. His fingers latched onto your wrist, bringing them closer to his chest, right where his heart was. "As long as you hear these thumps, you will always have a home to return to."
That evening, you left the park with Caleb arm-in-arm. Perhaps, not having the ability to see wasn't that bad after all. At the very least, you did not have to cast your gaze upon the atrocities that occur past the foliage of nothingness. At the very least, you could be ignorant in bliss.

in your relationship, âwhat's mine is yoursâ is sylus's motto. he justâŚnever expected you to use his wealth to keep your favorite tv shows from being canceled.
before you met him, you'd been betrayed one too many times by some greedy network axing your beloved series one season in. so when you finally gain the resources to fight back, you vow to never be left on an unanswered cliffhanger ever again.
as the current season of your most-watched show comes to an end, you scour the news for a renewal announcement that never comes. when the inevitable âunfortunately, this series will not return for another season,â article drops, thereâs no time for mourningâonly action. you stay up all night running numbers you shouldnât even know, wondering just how many zeros itâll take for the studio to change their minds. (and they will change their minds. like, the main characters havenât even kissed yet! thereâs potential here, people!)
within the next week, the retraction statement floods the media:
âto our amazing community: an anonymous benefactor has made a multimillion-dollar donation to the production team behind your favorite show! their generosity will secure at least five more seasons for this brilliant team of creatives. thank you for making your voices heard!âÂ
hmmph, you think when you finish reading. and donât let it happen again!
other fans around the world rejoice at the network's change of heart, though theyâll never know the âbenefactorâ who made it happen was one of their very own.
and sylus? he hardly pays your philanthropic endeavors any mind. the funds are yours to spend, as far as heâs concerned; plus, if it means more cozy nights lying next to you, hearing you gush about scenes and storylines while your favorite show plays in the backgroundâŚwell, if it makes you that happy, he might just buy the whole network himself.

It was the usual, calm evening, with you sitting beside Sylus on the sofa, softly tracing your fingers along his arm. Your boyfriend, on the other hand, was busy tapping on his tablet, seemingly paying no mind to you.Â
So, being the kitten that you are, decided to play a little mischievously.Â
Your fingers slowly wandered down his arm before your nails dragged a little deeper across his skin.
Sylus paused, glancing at you with one brow lifted. âCareful with your claws, kitten.â
You only smiled, completely unbothered. âWhy? You said I'm your kitten. I like scratching you.âÂ
Slowly, your eyes looked upwards to meet his crimson gaze. Your eyes locked with his for a few seconds before you lowered them to his lips.Â
â... Especially on your back.â
There was a brief silence between the two of you. Then, a small, amused smile formed across Sylusâ lips.Â
Uh oh.Â
You woke up the next morning, feeling like you had been crushed under the weight of an entire building.Â
Your eyes opened half-lidded, and you slowly sat up, feeling the faint ache scattered across your body. You gently pulled away the covers to peek at your body.
âOh god.â
Your body was covered in kisses and bite marks everywhere, even in your thighs.Â
Eventually, after finding enough energy and dignity to get dressed, you pulled on one of Sylusâ oversized sweaters and shuffled out of the bedroom.
Only then did you limp your way towards the kitchen, seeing Sylus standing at the kitchen counter, seemingly preparing something.Â
As your eyes found their way to his back, you briefly stopped on your tracks.Â
There were faint, thin marks that stood out in his skin, and some were deeper, redder marks that stretched from his shoulders to his back. A few of them overlapped. Your nails must have kept digging across them more than once.Â
âEnjoying the view, kitten?â Sylus teased, glancing over his shoulder.Â
You immediately looked away. âYou're insufferable.âÂ
âFunny. You didn't seem to think so last night.â He turned around and walked towards you. âIf I remember correctly, you were quite fond of my back.â
Your face burned, and you wanted to punch him in the face.Â
Sylus' gaze lowered to your oversized sweater, then to your legs.Â
âHaving trouble walking, kitten?âÂ
Before you could respond, his arm slipped around your waist, lifting you off the ground with ease.Â
âAnd whose fault is that?â You huffed, wrapping your arms around his neck as he padded towards the kitchen countertop.Â
âHm? Where did my kittenâs confidence go?â He gently sat you on the counter stool and pulled the salad plate towards you.Â
âIââ You hissed at him. âIs it my fault that you have monstrous stamina?!âÂ
He chuckled, gently brushing your cheek. âBut you dug those claws into my back quite deeply, kitten,â he paused. âWere you not holding onto me, begging me not to stop? I could hardly deny when you were asking so sweetly.âÂ
You slapped his arm, feeling embarrassed. âDon't remind me.â
Sylus only laughed, his eyes lingering on your flushed face.Â
âI rather like the little artwork you left on my back, kitten.â He pressed a soft kiss on your temple as you chewed on the egg salad.Â
Perhaps you will get longer nail extensions next time.

There were no screams, no smokeânot yet. If anything, the day was perfect, with the midday sunshine draping over your shoulders like a shawl. The breeze carried that sweet scent of wildflowers from the fields beyond your small town, warm and pleasant.Â
But you could feel it... Dread, heavy and oily in your gut.Â
Something was coming.
Someone.Â
It was inevitable, really. All of the villages to the south had been pillaged months ago by the clashing Warlords, and the straggling survivors now crawled about your streets for refuge. You prayed it might be the terror from the South, or even that brute from the West⌠anyone but the Dragon.Â
They said that heâd been born in the depths of a volcano, cracked from an egg that fell from the heavens, his godly appetite ill-suited for this earthly realm. You shuddered to even think what he might look like. No doubt he was a dark and endless form, with scales of steel, blades for teeth, and eyes that burned like coals.Â
Today was stunning, and still, you knew. You knew.Â
It felt almost juvenile to be upset. Why must a calamity happen today, of all days? This was meant to be your moment. For months, youâd waited patiently, worked persistently, and there upon your hip was your completed marital pouch. You chose to finalise the embroidery with golden silk strands, the phoenix flaring its metallic wings⌠but from a distance, you supposed it looked more like a crow.Â
You were going to give it to a suitor this evening, the ceremony to begin at sunset. The entire town was hustling for it, laughing and gathering supplies. How could they not feel it? Not see it? That stillness that pierced the air, how the shadows were darker⌠deeper⌠like you might fall inâŚ
You tried to swallow away the dryness that stuck in your throat. You had to flee, and yet your feet remained rooted in the earth. Even if you sounded an alarm, who would believe you? Now clutching your pouch to your chest, you let out a deep sigh.Â
And you ran.Â
Not to escape, but for help. The merchant city wasnât far, half a dayâs journey if you didnât stop. Perhaps youâd manage to convince some soldiers to come. If you were wrong, well, it was best to be precautious.Â
+++
Youâd barely run for ten minutes before you felt it.
Something was watching. Following.
Waiting.
Like the calm before the storm, something crackled through the grassland, vivid and alive. With a shiver, you slowed your pace, whipping your head over your shoulder to catch the culprit.
Nothing, only swaying green and the blurring of pretty blooms.
With a relieved sigh, you pressed on.
Only to be met with the looming presence of him.
There he stood, a statue carved from marble. Carved from death. By the gods, he was tall. Thighs like trunks, torso rippling with muscle, arms folded across the expansive plane of his chest. Then you met his gaze, and the breath was stolen right out of your lungs.
Like gemstones, those ruby eyes gleamed, burning bright and framed by sharp features, and ashen hair that fell down his form like a waterfall. Obsidian horns towered from his head, gleaming, almost wet. Thin chains of gold wrapped about his bare chest, as well as decorative paint.
And then he took a step toward you. Then another. Youâd been running before, but now?
You bolted, heart hammering like a drumâa war drum.
You barely made it ten strides before you were ensnared by two enormous arms.
With a shriek, you thrashed and fought, but it was no use. The tower of a Warlord hoisted you over his shoulder, a darkly delighted chuckle rumbling from his throat. You smacked your fists against his pale, painted back, the swirls of paint smearing from your blows.
âLet go of me!â
The Dragon chuckled again.
âLet me go! Let me GO!â
âOr what?â He finally spoke, voice smooth and rich, his taunt coiling about your neck like a noose.
You kept fighting, scratching hard against his back, slicing his skin, but he didnât seem bothered in the slightest. With all your strength, you managed to hoist yourself up just enough to sink your teeth into the back of his neck. You dug deep until the taste of copper dribbled down your throat.
The Warlord erupted into laughter. Even as the crimson dripped down his back, like streaks of new paint, he merely shook you about, and you slung back down. Tears welled at the corners of your eyes, your panic now ripening into full-blown fear.
What was he going to do to you?
âPlease,â you whispered this time, brimmed with terror. âPlease, please donât hurt me.â
Your frightened plea had the Warlord halt, and he placed you down into the grass. Your lower lip trembled as you stared at him, a hot pain blooming behind your eyes, and you held back the tears. And then, your heart sank into your knees, as he produced your pouch.
Dangling from two fingers, he held the pouch out to taunt you. âYour elders spoke of this. A girl gives it as a present to her beloved. Isnât that right?â
Petrified, you barely managed to nod.
The Warlordâthe Dragonâleaned forward, until he was so close his nose was a breath from yours. âDo you have a lover?â
Again, terror clawed at you, and you shook your head.
He gripped your chin, not enough to hurt, but just enough to convey that he could.
âTsk.â With his other hand, he still dangled the pouch, and you couldnât help but side-eye it. âI said, 'Do you have a lover?â
Oh.
Dragging back to meet his stare, you swallowed thickly, as if it might aid your heart back into place. âIf I did, then he wouldnât hurt my people?â Youâd intended to sound strong, but your voice was pitched and breathless.
The Dragon smirked, lifting his chin with satisfaction, and purred, âhe wouldnât.â
âThen yes,â you agreed softly. âI do have a lover.â
He curled the pouch into his fist, and with one last moment to stare into you, the Warlord released you. Skin prickled and hot from his touch, you rubbed at it.Â
âCome along, then,â he ordered, something dark simmering beneath that blood-red gaze. âLet us be wed, then.â
+++
The wedding was awful.
Cold, silent, and thrumming with fear.
Sylus, however, was anything but. Unable to leave his side, the warmth of his body seeped into you. After the vows, he had insisted on a bonfire, to which he drank and sang, all in your honour. Witnessing the Dragon drunk might have been amusing if he werenât so terrifying.
Your entire town watched you quiver before the white-haired man, heads hung, and gazes averted. Not even your parents came to your defence. What was worse than the wedding was knowing it would eventually come to an end.
And you would be his.
You knew it was a foolâs dream to believe your first time would be in love. That it would be kind and gentle. At least youâd been able to choose your husband, though. You had one or two in mind, having grown up with some of the men.
Seated at a grand table, food being brought to you in waves, you tried to smile. Really, you did. You didnât want Sylus thinking you were ungrateful, after all. He was going to spare your village, all for something as simple as you?
You could be miserable all you wanted, but at least your people would live.
And yet, he noticed your stiffness. How your shoulders tensed, and your fingers trembled, even as you clenched them in your lap. With one large hand, he settled it around the base of your neck, and you couldnât help but flinch.
âAre you cold?â He drawled, knowing very well you werenât, and with gentle pressure, began to massage you.
With a deep breath, you steadied your smile and blinked up at him. âA little.â
âCome closer, then.â
Grabbing the edge of your chair, he dragged you over. Your short breaths drew to a complete stop as your arm brushed against his.
âThank you,â you managed to murmur.
With a slow smile, he leaned down and inhaled, letting your scent fill his lungs. âYouâre welcome⌠wife.â
A shiver ripped up your spine, right into Sylusâ grip as he continued to work your muscles carefully. âSurely youâre still not cold?â
âI donât know,â you breathed.
âMy lap is available.â
You looked at him thenâreally looked at him, with his smooth skin, firm jaw, and prominent nose. You noticed how in the firelight, he seemed softer, more human, horns almost invisible against the night that lurked behind him. If you had enough to drink, you might even forget he was a Warlord.
âUm,â you chewed your lip, not sure how to reject himâif you could.
His rumbling chuckle reverberated between you. âWhy do you look so startled? Iâm not going to bite, unlike you,â he purred the word.
Your eyes flickered to where youâd sunk your teeth, the mark covered with a healing balm, but even through the waxen appearance, you could see the red marks.
âIâm sorry for that.â
âIâve faced far more vicious foes than you,â he said with jest, and yet you knew it was true. Then, he patted the top of his thighs, motioning with his brows to obey. With a silent whimper, you crawled from your seat, sitting tentatively on him. He tugged at your hips, planting you more firmly, one hand coming to rest on your knee.
âLean back,â his command was soft, but a command it was.
You did, heartbeat stuck in your throat. By the gods, he was warm, even shirtless; the heat from him engulfed you, threatening to burn you alive.
âComfortable?â he asked into the shell of your ear.
You were distinctly aware of how your rear was pressed against him, how the plush of your thighs fit against his. You bit down on your tongue to withhold a yelp as you felt his mouth brush the nape of your neck.
âI have half a mind to return the favour,â and as promised, his teeth scraped ever so gently along your skin. With a violent shudder, you clenched everywhere, bracing for pain. âWhere I am from, leaving marks is a great romantic gesture.â
Of course it was.
âOh,â you uttered weakly. âI didnât know that.â
âDo you accept?â He purred, the force of it thundering through you.
What was the alternative? Scanning the crowd, seeing all those you ever loved, you took a deep breath.
âYes.â
He chuckled darkly, his hands coming to settle on your hips. âThat doesnât sound very enthusiastic.â
You let your head loll onto his shoulder, hoping that your closed eyes conveyed a dreamy look. âPlease.â
You couldnât help but scrunch, anticipating the pain⌠only it never came. Sylus planted a tender kiss upon your pulse point, breathing in deep once more, as if trying to drown in you.
âIt doesnât count if you donât mean it,â he whispered into your skin.
You sucked in your bottom lip, afraid heâd punish you for it, but he merely guided you off his lap, letting you slip back onto your own seat. Blinking up at him with startled confusion, he smiled, but you noticed the sliver of sorrow swimming within them.
You went to lie, to convince him that youâd do anything he asked⌠but the words didnât come.
The night moved quickly, your people coming to loosen up as the pleasant flow of alcohol washed away the nerves. Sylus wouldnât hurt anyone, not as long as you remained by his side. Still, the only thing holding him back was his word, and all heard tales of the Dragonâs temper. None dared do anything but drink and smile.
With much dread, it came time to retire. The rest of Sylusâ camp had arrived, participating in the late events, their tents littering the open space beyond the walls of your town. And so, with your hand interlaced in his, you were led away.
++++
You sat on the edge of the bed, blood ice cold. Sylus had his back to you as he removed his jewellery. You stared holes through him, watching the massive expanse of him subtly flex with his movements. Every aspect of him was enormous, and you could only quiver with fear, actively gulping.
When Sylus finally turned, he met your gaze and held it, the corner of his mouth lifting.
âAre you going to sleep in that?â
You peered down, forgetting that you were still clad in a ceremonial gown. A heat crept up your neck, a stark contrast to the chill that haunted you.
âI have nothing else.â
You anticipated a crude remark about being naked, but rather, he paced across the luxurious tent and fetched you a linen gown. âHere,â he said, passing it to you.
Clearing your throat, you rose to change, but there was nowhere to offer cover. At this point, Sylus had reclined into the bed, hands tucked behind his head in a leisurely manner, eyes never once leaving you.
He wanted to watch.
Your whole body was on fire, knees wobbling slightly as your head spun. No one had ever seen you naked before, and you couldnât quite comprehend that a carnivorous Warlord would be the first. Â
Cheeks aflame, you began slowly, half cowered from his prying gaze. The sleeves of your gown slipped down your arms, the front coming to soften about your chest. Closing your eyes to hide, you let the rest of it slip down and crumple at your feet, and with haste, slipped into the garment Sylus offered you.
Opening your eyes, you dared a peek at the giant man, only to find he had his head tilted right back, eyes closed. A soft snore slipped from him, and like a bucket of water, relief washed over you.
He hadnât seen.
Crawling in beside him, he was still atop some of the blankets. You held your breath as you poked his bicep. Like a crocodile, one blazing red eye cracked open, slitted pupil focusing into a round one as it registered you.
âYouâre⌠youâre on the blanket,â your hushed tone barely left your lips.
With a lazy smirk, he adjusted, and you were both beneath the spread. Lying flat on your back, you stared at the roof, wondering if waking him had been a mistake. You could have simply slept on the floor, shivering cold, but unclaimed.
Still your own.
Sylus rolled onto his side to face you, fingertips ghosting along your temple, coming to trace the curve of your ear.
âIs this ok?â He murmured.
Your vision flickered onto him, and his gaze drooped down to notice your quivering bottom lip. He removed his touch.
âI wonât touch you,â he whispered, a strange pain twisting across his face. âNot unless you want me to.â
This was the Dragon? The man who burned houses and slaughtered the innocent? You didnât believe it. This was a trick, some ploy to have you lower your guard. You knew the second you fell asleep, heâd pounce.
With a sudden possession of courage, glancing back to the ceiling, you rasped, âWhat if I donât want you to ever touch me?â
A barely audible gasp escaped his lipsâyet you still heard it. He huffed, averting his gaze, then settled onto his back, the same as you. âThen I will never touch you.â
You werenât sure why, but tears welled at the corners of your eyes.
âThatâs it?â
He scoffed. âYou almost sound disappointed.â
âIâŚâ You trailed off, needing to gather your jumbled thoughts. âYou have a reputation⌠Sylus.â You whispered his name, the taste of it on your tongue nowhere near as repulsive as youâd thought.
âHow many women have I wed?â
You paused, unsure.
He shifted, facing you once again, as if needing your gaze. âYou are the first⌠the only.â
You felt your face go pink. âOh.â
He held up his palm, and he let it hover in the space between you. Accepting the gentle invitation, you pressed your own against his. He was so warm, so real, his touch creating a tangle of emotion in your stomach.
+++
You awoke with Sylusâ large hand splayed across your ribcage, the warm expanse of his chest pressed against your back. One of your feet was tangled between his legs, and as the grogginess of slumber wore off, you could feel the gentle puff of his breath stir at the back of your head.
You didnât bolt. Didnât even move, actually.
Although there was still that lingering thump of fear within your chest, there was something else.
Sylus woke and immediately withdrew himself. The sudden coldness hit you like a slap. Rolling over, you felt confused at the disappointment settling in your chest. You trailed after him as he rose.Â
âMy camp will stay here until you are ready to leave,â he stated, already half-dressed, clipping his chains back on.
Your heart stopped.
Leave?
Of course youâd be leaving. He was a Warlord, a conqueror. His apparent wealth didnât sprout from the dirt.
You felt unworthy to ask him for another hour, let alone a day. But you longed to say goodbye, to convince your family youâd be alright. That you⌠might even be happy. Eventually. Maybe.
âSylus,â you mumbled, his name still so foreign. âCould I please have one more day?â
He turned to face you, fully decorated. Standing there, you couldnât help but gawk. âA day? You donât wish for longer? I was prepared to remain here for a month, perhaps even two.â
Your jaw dropped.
His features softened. âI only conquer those who oppose me. Your home has been nothing but welcoming⌠even if it came from fear. But they are kind. They didnât need to be kind. I will not rip you from your home.â
His words held edge, an ancient pain laced through his tone⌠as if he spoke from experience.
âThank you,â you breathed, unsure of what else to say.
+++
A month had passed since your wedding, and as promised, Sylus never touched you. He barely even looked at you, not unless you looked first. Spoke to him first.Â
He had fortified your villageâs defences, taught your people the art of the bow and sword, and even gifted the elders some of his wealth, so they might strengthen their trades.Â
At night, he would return to you, quiet and distant. You slept in the same bed, and every morning, you awoke curled right into him. At this point, it shouldnât have made you so flustered, to make you so quick to retreat.Â
Whenever your gazes met, you felt your heart spike. As the early days spanned into weeks, you found it to be less out of apprehension and more with curiosity.Â
Conversations with Sylus grew more meaningful. When you were bolder, youâd ask about the word and its people. He was always honest. He told you of the southern seas and their secret city, for the people wept pearls. He told you how the people to the west would glow at night, as did their flowers.Â
You were shy to ask questions, but alas, you did. âWould you ever take me to see these places?âÂ
His grin filled you with a surprising warmth. âThere is nothing I would ever deny you.â
It made you stay awake at night, staring up at the ceiling. Had the world been wrong about the Dragon?
No, they hadnât.
The warhorses came at dawn.
At first, you thought it was a storm rolling across the far horizon, but Sylus knew. He jolted from the bed, sword in hand, his men shouting.
It was the Terror, the one from the distant sea. His flaming conquest left no survivors. He had heard of the new bride and wanted her for himself.
You stood on a hill, as did your people, as you all watched in helpless horror. The ebb and flow of blood and steel, how it screamed and sang. In the end, the Terror called for his retreat, and you stared out at him on his monstrous steed, the beast an impossible silver.
You narrowed your eyes in contempt, willing daggers to impale the back of his head.Â
Sylus returned to you, dripping in gore. You said nothing, only held out your arm for him to take it.
He did.
You guided him not to your shared tent, but to the bathhouse. Entering the steamy hut, you ushered him to sit in the hot spring, all without a word. Sylus obeyed you, occasionally glancing up with a curious gleam.
Sitting by the edge, the hot water lapped at your shins, your bloodied husband nestled between them. You grabbed a cloth, and you began to wash him.
You finally broke the silence. âYou saved us all.â
âI promised you my protection.â
âNo,â you said, leaning in, arms wrapping around him so you could scrub his chest. âActually, you didnât.â
âOh?â He huffed, but you could hear his smile.
âThank you,â you whispered into his ear, your stomach twisting as you felt him shiver.
Silence filled the bathhouse once more as you continued your mission. You washed his hair next, fingertips scraping at his scalp, unable to resist a smile as you felt him purr.
âDragon? More like a cat,â You teased him, your thumbs stroking at his temples.
Sylusâ eyes had been closed, enjoying your care as you dipped his head into the water, rinsing the soap out. Peering up at you, he arched a playful brow. âIs that so?â
You broke into a chuckle, biting your lip in an effort to stop. âMaybe.â
He sat upright, turning to fully face you, that gentle smile he only gave to you gracing his face. You blinked at him once. Twice. You reached in, cradling his face in your palms, gazing deep into those ruby voids.
âIâve decided,â you announced, stomach flipping at the admission.
He arched a pale brow. âOn what?â
You lowered your voice, leaning in slightly, so the breath of your words could caress his mouth. âI want you to touch me.â
You held his stare, heart fluttering as you noticed his right eye sharpening, its red hue glowing. Emboldened, you shifted closer until your noses aligned, lips brushing against his.
âI want you to make me yours.â And to fulfill your request, you pressed your lips to his, a promise.
⌠Only for him to pull back, his gasp sharp. âAreâare you sure?â
âPlease,â you almost whined it, needing him to kiss you, devour you, make you scream.
His pupils flared, his astonishment fading and replaced by something darker, as if heâd heard your wicked little thoughts.
His hands seized your thighs, pulling you closer to the edge of the spring. You arched in, pressing your body into Sylus as his mouth captured yours. It started soft and teasing, but after several hammering heartbeats, he deepened the claim until it was pure and unrelenting.
You moaned against him, the sensation of it all like molten gold. Your hands found his shoulders, nails digging in as his tongue glided against yours, coaxing for more. He swallowed your breathless pants, your overwhelmed whimpers, all while his burning palms roamed.
Sylus pulled back, breathing ragged. âI have waited⌠so long for you.â
Something told you he meant more than the past few weeks.
âAnd now, finally, youâre mine.â His hands tightened on your hips, tugging you closer, like you might dare try to escape.
A startled whine slipped from you as he dipped down, licking the column of your neck. With a slow, deep inhale, a low rumble caught in his throat. âMine.â
He bit you. Hard. And by the gods, was it glorious. Licking the sensitive mark, his hands glided up, up, up, fingertips grazing your nipples through your dress. You let out an indignant moan. He chuckled, pinching them.
âAh!â
You were at his mercy now, arching deeper, needing to be closer.
âMore,â you gasped. âPlease, please, please.â
âBegging already?â He taunted, denying you.
You didnât have the strength to be cheeky. âWhatever you want,â you sighed, fingers coming to curl at the nape of his neck. âShow me how it feels to be yours.â
Sylus let out a low groan at your words, teeth tugging at your earlobe. âDonât say things like that unless you mean them, sweetie.â His tone held warning. He was barely restraining himself.
You threaded your fingers deeper into his ashen locks. âSylus, I need you. Right now.â
His control snapped. Fingers digging into the plush of your thighs, he had you wrap your legs about his waist, and once you were secure, lifted you from the waterâs edge. He strode out of the bathhouse, right across the campsiteâyou didnât care. Sylus didnât stop until you were sprawled across your bed, panting with need.
âYour first time should be somewhere you feel warm,â he explained, caging himself over you. âSomewhere comfortable and safe.â
âI feel those things when Iâm with you,â you murmured, caressing his cheek.Â
He kissed you, sensual and slow, and seemed content to keep it that way. You, however, were impatient, a burning, aching need coiling low in your core.Â
âSylus,â you sighed into his mouth, nails raking down the back of his neck, digging into his shoulders. âDonât make me wait any longer.â
Nipping at your bottom lip, he let out a dark chuckle. Sylus trailed hot, open-mouthed kisses along your jaw, gliding down the column of your neck. Gripping the front of your dress, he tore it right off, mindful not to hurt you in the process. Breasts bared for him, his grin was sinful, and he dipped down to suck on a nipple, squeezing the other.Â
âI want to take my time with you,â he panted, switching to your other breast, licking at your sensitive bud.Â
You threaded your fingers through his damp hair, squirming as he palmed and suckled, swirling his tongue with delicious pressure. You couldnât help but whimper, try to clamp your legs shut as he descended lower, licking at your skin. His teeth grazed your hip bone, a teasing promise of what was to come.
âI want to savour your taste,â he murmured, voice thick. His words hung over you, already overwhelmed by the heat Sylus was stirring from you. It was only when his handsâthose ridiculous, strong handsâgripped your thighs, ensuring that they remained completely open for him, did it register.Â
You sucked down your yelp as his tongue flicked out, only a simple tease, but to you, it was maddening. Sylus began gently, although you could feel his thrumming restraint. It was almost testing, the way he licked, until finally, when you began to let yourself fall away into euphoria, he gave you everything.Â
His grip on you tightened as he worked you, unrelenting until your cheeks were wet from pleasured tears. You tugged at his horns, squirmed to escape, the sensation impossible, pure, electric. You wouldnât survive it.Â
âItâs alright,â he rasped with reassurance, âyou can come for me.â
You were no stranger to masturbation. Had given yourself countless orgasms, but nothing ever came close to what Sylus was doing to you. It was as if your soul was about to soar out of your body, your release threatening to plunge you into an abyss.Â
The heat of him was going to shatter you entirely.Â
You outright screamed when he deepened his claim, slipping two devastating fingers into your soaked core. âIâve got you,â he whispered.Â
The tension finally snapped, and you came, the surge of it like a thundering wave. It flowed right into your fingertips, escaping your lips as a strangled whine, back arching off the bed.Â
After your much-needed deep breaths, Sylus pressed a tender kiss to your inner thigh. âGood girl,â you felt him grin against your skin as he began his ascent.Â
âI canât breathe,â you mumbled pathetically, the afterwaves of your release still clinging.Â
With a husky chuckle, Sylus came back to hover over you, peering down at you with those beautiful crimson eyes. The right was glowing, almost pulsating, as he seemed to roam over your face, an unreadable expression upon it.Â
âYou are everything,â he breathed, and before you could respond, he leaned down to kiss you. One hand skimmed down your side, grasping your hip, caressing your thigh. His touch was pure fire, delicious in its intensity. You slung a leg about his waist, and with your pitiful strength (at least in comparison to him), pulled him flush against you.Â
Wrapped within his heat, Sylus positioned himself at your core, and all of that burning need had you tremble.Â
âPlease,â you murmured into his mouth.Â
âHold onto me,â he whispered, voice like velvet. âLook at me.â
Meeting his gaze, your lips parted into a silent gasp as he, with devastating slowness, sank into you, engulfing you in an inferno of desire. Sylus groaned low in his throat as you took all of him, for even as your breath hitched and tears clung to the corners of your eyes, you didnât once falter.Â
Your nails came to dig into his shoulders as he stilled, giving you time to adjust to such fullness. You craned forward to kiss him, needing somethingâanythingâto ground you.Â
âYouâre perfect,â he rasped into your mouth, âyou take me so well.â His voice was rough, brimming with restraint, which came to pool low in your stomach.Â
âMore,â you moaned softly, rolling your hips. Â
The first thrust was so careful, so agonisingly slow, you thought you might explode, until white-hot stars burst behind your eyelids as he pressed deeper.Â
âI wonât break,â you begged, raking at his back, desperate for more.Â
His chuckle seemed pained as he buried into your neck, teeth grazing. âYou just might, with the things I want to do to you.â
âYou promise?â You groaned, arching up into him, your body hungry for more heat, more of him.Â
Sylus pulled back, that crimson eye fully ablaze from your words. Cupping his cheek, you gave him a weak smile, the pent-up need that burned within you teetering into downright painful.Â
âIâm not afraid. Please, Sylus. Iâm yours⌠Iâm all yoursâŚâ
A bright, almost feral shift took hold within him then. With a searing kiss, his pace grew bolder, deeper, and you clung to him fiercely, needing to be anchored as your pleasure grew.Â
Sylus didnât lose his control, which you were equally disappointed and grateful for. There was no chance youâd have survived, and yet, you yearned to be shattered by him. Yet, your release was close enough. Like glass, you splintered apart beneath him, everything explosive and burning.
Sylusâ rhythm faltered, the feel of your high too intoxicating. You felt him go to retreat from you, but with spent breath, you whimpered your permission, âInside.â
With heavy, uneven breaths, he spilled inside of you with a rumbling groan, the weight of it oddly emotional. With a lingering kiss, Sylus pulled from you, then came to prop himself up at your side with an elbow. With gentle fingers, he traced patterns over your skin, an invisible lace. His ruby gaze was still glowing faintly.Â
âAre you alright?â
Your laugh was completely spent, but full of satisfaction. âIâve never been better,â you said, genuine.Â
âWhat are you thinking right now?â
âHow glad I am that you found me in that field.â
Sylusâ smile filled you with a different kind of warmth, something that stirred within the heart. âI would stop at nothing to find you. Now, and always.âÂ

Caleb had been begging you for weeks to be rough with him. He was practically pleading you to be mean to him, something you had been too shy to do. But his birthday was only minutes away, and tonight you had decided to be brave. You were going to gift him exactly what he had been asking for so fervently.
You were riding him slowly at first, savoring the stretch of his cock deep inside you, already teetering on the edge of your own orgasm. Calebâs hands gripped your hips, his breath ragged as he looked up at you with dark, needy eyes.Â
You leaned down and kissed him fiercely, biting his lower lip until he hissed. Then you sat back up, bracing your hands on his shoulders as you began to ride him faster. The wet sound of skin meeting skin filled the room, accompanied by his moans. His eyes were half-lidded, his cheeks flushed, and his usual charming smile had been replaced by raw desperation. âFuck yes, just likeââ
You glanced at the clock: 00:00. Your hand moved before you could second-guess yourself. The slap cracked across his face, sharp and stinging, snapping his head to the side. A red mark bloomed on his cheek instantly.
For a heartbeat, there was silence. You panicked. âWas it too much? Caleb, Iâm sââ
Then, his cock twitched violently inside you. A broken, guttural sound tore from his throat as his entire body seized. His hips jerked up as he buried himself deeper, coming hard, pulsing thick and hot deep inside you. The orgasm seemed to drag on forever; his abs clenched, his hands strained against your hips and waist, and his mouth fell open in shocked pleasure.
You watched, stunned and aroused, as he trembled through the aftershocks, his eyes glassy.
âShitâŚâ he finally gasped, a dazed, blissful laugh escaping him. âDid you justâ?â
âHappy birthday,â you whispered, your voice soft but laced with a newfound confidence. You traced the bright red mark on his cheek with your thumb, your skin still buzzing from the contact. Seeing your own handprint on his skin sent a fresh, sharp jolt of electricity straight to your core. You looked down at him, your heart hammering against your ribs, still feeling shy but emboldened by his reaction. âDid you⌠did you like it?âÂ
Caleb didn't answer immediately. Instead, his gaze darkened, shifting to a predatory intensity that made your breath catch. Before you could process the look in his eyes, he flipped you beneath him in one smooth motion and hovered over you.
He captured your lips in a bruising, possessive kiss. When he finally pulled back, his breathing was uneven.
âLike it? Iâve never come faster in my lifeâ he rasped, his voice vibrating through your own chest.Â
He didn't give you time to recover. He shifted his weight, thrusting into you with a force that made you cry out.
âDo it again,â he whispered against your lips, his voice dropping into a low, commanding growl. âHarder.â
I have some decent tea cakes at my place. Do you want to try them? Time and temperature are essential for brewing the perfect cup.
