Well, I would say they don't really have much in common with slomen. They wouldn't think of it as smt they become, neither would I, even by abstract case. I think it's more like if you were to made a humanoid clay figurine, then gave it to some ai, and have it remake it with billions of other issues it must figure out. So before it gets a chance to make the figurine, it loses a lot of its functions and deteriorates. And has only a small role in making the figurine in the end. And nah. With the chaos, I doubt many even knew this was an option. If humans of the time ended up finding lands or sloms, they would definitely be excited. Probably mostly about slomen, imagine a pet sloman. The general public needs their slom-zoo.

Lake Kaindy (Қайыңды көлі, Qaiyñdy kölı, the "birch tree lake" or landslide), also known as a “sunken forest”, is a lake located in the Kolsay Lakes National Park in Kazakhstan, 129 kilometers away from Almaty. The lake was created as a result of a landslide triggered by an earthquake over 100 years ago, forming a natural dam that blocked the gorge. Surprisingly, the water that filled the dam didn't destroy the spruce trees. Instead, it created a lake and its cold temperature prevented the tree trunks from decomposing.
