Hrad Karlštejn is a gothic castle founded in 1348 in Karlštejn, Czech Republic. The castle served as a place for safekeeping the Imperial Regalia, as well as the Bohemian Crown Jewels, holy relics, and other royal treasures.

Kryžių kalnas (Hill of Crosses) is a site of Catholic pilgrimage in Šiauliai, Lithuania. After the fall of the November Uprising, families started bringing crosses there to honour their fallen loved ones. Despite KGB's efforts to destroy the landmark and stop the pilgrimages, Lithuanians continued to bring the crosses to the hill. Due to the tradition of bringing a cross there every visit, the number of crosses is constantly increasing. It is estimated to be over 200,000.
