Propaganda I REFUSE to fall for in 2025 as a Black African American Woman.
That Eugenics should be taken lightly.
From Sara baartman,Jim Crow picnics, to the lack of empathy practice when displaying the bodies of slain black people. Dehumanization and purity culture has a name and pseudoscience from which it draws emotional beliefs from …eugenics. I remember watching Freedom Writers, a movie loosely based on a teacher who took a teaching job in an underrepresented school—this movie drew parallels between a mass genocide and a systematically corrupted poverty-stricken neighborhood in Long Beach, Ca… as the actress who portrayed Erin Gruwell held up a caricature of a student drawn by his classmates to make fun of his features—she described how the nazi regime would use the local newspapers to spread propaganda using caricatures of Jewish people with enlarge and exaggerated features and how the dehumanization led to a genocide of a group of people. Eugenics needs only silence and complicity—starting as verbal stereotypes, insults, fictional stories, and jokes only attributed to one group then it turns into exaggerated imagery— Ai video or images, ads and commercials, and other forms popular media that is often readily available to the masses. Eugenics also has a weakness—it’s not real science.
The follow up questions:
Do we want a reality based on facts or fiction?
Propaganda I won’t fall for in 2025 as a black African American Woman.
Divisive Diversions.
Now there are multiple conversations happening at this time, but the most important conversation seems to be getting overshadowed by gossip and misinformation. Here are a few things that seem to sow division and create chaos. Music/Entertainment,Education/Social programs, Political alignment-confusion and corruption. Starting with entertainment and music is easy because we all know who publicly endorsed democracy— Beyoncé. Now if you’ve stopped reading here, congratulations you’ve been triggered and are probably sinking. Here is a black woman who has successfully taken on some of the most racially segregated spaces which were widely shaped and influenced by the blues of newly freed slaves of the transatlantic human trafficking trade… I’d say she was a threat to anyone trying to erase that part of history to uphold ‘Mainstream’ or ‘Pop Culture’ standards. Education-social programs. Attack the efficacy and efficiency. If these programs are UNDERFUNDED AND UNDERSTAFFED, eventually, the need for such a thing and people’s attitudes will change about keeping it around. Standardization and Accountability—one a tool for conformity, the other as punishment for others instead of a method of self-discipline. Moving on to Political Alignment confusion and corruption. BLACK PEOPLE!— we all know that only a small percentage of black women have been converted to the alt-right pipeline and they have a LOOK and personality, or so we thought. The result for Black men? Was it a major surprise? No, we have listened to some spew racially divisive rhetoric and gender stereotypes and they attack individuals who have been just as vocal as they’ve been active in progressive/protective politics while actively promoting and supporting the same actions of people in power—it’s not a surprise that certain republican politicians have been using certain celebrities and celebrity escorts like terrorist for a while. These individuals find themselves in detrimental situations, like financial or identity crisis, federal cases, many other personal matters— and then, just as fast as it comes poof, it’s gone. Now, in certain communities, when a person facing hard times all of a sudden beats the odds, some might see it as a will of god and others might take a closer look. These individuals tend to be the hands-off types, never involving themselves in politics until it’s time to campaign or vote— or they have been very vocal about their political beliefs, but their actions don’t quite reflect their reality. These are not new tactics or ideas. The playbook is history and, if you don’t know it, propaganda can be used as a gateway or pipeline to communal decline.
The follow-up question:
What is the bigger picture?
Propaganda I won’t fall for in 2025 as a black (African American) Woman.
It’s JUST A JOKE!
As we can see, due to the overwhelming evidence from this previous election’s results, America is finally ready to show its red underbelly, but for the majority of us, that uncivilized view has been what we’ve witnessed and experienced for centuries, raised families around it, worked shifts with it, and sat in similar pews praying to different gods. We had to rely on it to teachings of fundamental truths and principles. We had to rely on it to protect and serve, put out fires and treat our ailments. Yes, telling jokes can break the thickest of tension sometimes, but it can also hold space for alternate meanings and interpretations. Some jokes are used as litmus tests to determine levels of docility and any reaction is only a bonus.
The follow-up questions:
Is a joke told over and over again in various ways still just a joke?
Would you start to believe it ?
Propaganda I refuse to fall for in 2025 as a black woman (African American) living in America.
Too Strong/Independence
This one stumped me. I’ve been hearing this about myself all my life— a generalization of black women that lacks context to the trauma that triggered a survival mode needed to fight, scrape, and get by during genocide, racial violence, and disenfranchisement. This was passed down as often unresolved trauma responses. Add on the fact that black people must work ten times harder and you have a belief rooted so deep it’s now used to justify misogynior.
The follow-up questions:
- Is it completely detrimental and something black women and girls need to unlearn?
- Why would I need to believe that I am not strong or resilient?
- Why would I need to believe the only way to salvation is through unreciprocated civility?
- Why would I need to believe that I get my power from man or my external reality and not directly from source?
- Why am I being sold surface-level femininity as a social expectation with no reciprocity?

Reality doesn’t slow divinity.
It doesn’t make it pull a number and wait in lines.
Divinity rests in the just and balance of truth.
Etched into our abilities to endure.
Sowing synchronicities secured in faith.
Reminds us that after darkness, light will follow.

Happy Juneteenth 👏🏾🙌🏾
*warning*
All I am.
And all that I was.
Held together by the feeling of grief.
Kept me in a cyclical state of not surrendering to the forgiveness stored in faith.
Loneliness provided the pessimism with evidence of unworthiness.
Sung bittersweet melodies to my weary spirit; promises of a new place where pain would never exist.
I feared change, thinking that every new viewpoint would only bring more misery.
I disappeared from my love.
Drowned in darkness until my inhibitions were led by external influences.
I believed in whatever I saw and ignored what I knew.
I burnt myself down trying to be the perfect entertainment for others burdens.
Even when I felt too heavy to remember a time when my smile didn’t hurt.
Or when my mind didn’t get overwhelmed at the slightest hint of rejection.
I fell and couldn’t remember how to get by on my own two feet.

Be cautious of snakes that bear rotten fruit.
If it ain’t broke.
No mistake.
No covert languages.
But overt actions sewn together by the people who educated us about freedom.
A freedom that keeps us in a cyclical state of fear
Of need
And if we don’t follow the laws of the land, death.
Freedom is not a process but the completion of one, but every time we get close to the end, someone presses the restart, button and we’re right back where we started.
Fear
Need
Death
Compromise? What is the carrot being dangled this time?
No more fear.
Maybe less worry about money.
No wars?
Asking for solutions from the individuals that created the game comes with a humanitarian cost.
Conformity is a tool used by the majority to create a sense of solidarity that ends with the blood of its victims.

And she will start anew.
She knows the love she gives will never wilt at the slightest hint of pessimism.
Her faith provides nourishment for her grief.
She needs not to fear or beg for relief.
Only to remember the warmth of something she once ignored.
Her love is enough to face falling towers and restructure the debris.
Her love fuels alchemy.
Keeps her in alignment and guides her through paths less traveled.
- Quen Yana
Why are you always bringing up race?
Asked in a country that separates the whites from the coloreds.
A manufactured societal construct created as a tool for hierarchy.
Why are you always bringing up race?
As if the mindset that created this system never used stories of the blackness that corrupted purity as a justification for enslavement.
Or maybe it was the plan to use it to subjugate and disenfranchise individuals who refused to put their hands out.
And after a while it was used to justify the over-policing and data collection of a population of people they always planned to destroy.
Black code.
Capitalism.
Crack.
Dealers.
Environmental waste.
Food deserts.
Gentrification.
Jim Crow.
High poverty public schools to Prison.
Luxury.
Pesticides.
Pimps.
Religion.
Shame.
A color that was only created to bring shame.
Only supposed to create cyclical generations of torment.
Why do you always bringing up race?
propagated to the world as
Violent.
Lazy.
Ghetto.
While others wish to swap destinies only to mimic our blues.

Mirrored Serenity.
The soul’s journey
An alchemy too central for manufactured highways.
So innate it irritates predators that lie in sheep’s clothing.
A truth facilitator.
The soul’s journey recognizes and dictates the experience of collaboration.
Begins with questions about the little things.
The soul’s journey is the alignment of beliefs and actions.
The soul’s journey is filled with nudges, misjudgments, and will.
-Quen Yana
The fear of true femininity
She seeks no protection from culprits.
She wills a knowing so grand she’s labeled a crazy b*tch.
A pit bull in a skirt.
Her resistance of traditional conformity evolves from her need to question common beliefs.
Her knowledge of self attracts challenges she has yet to overcome.
Her complexity is a sharp reminder that she holds wisdom that has no tongue in this plane.
True femininity won’t be revealed by unwilling strangers who feed on the ignorance of others who seek.
True femininity is a dueling experience.
A cyclical dialogue that provides solutions for conflicts that will come to pass.
A tiny ache of desire that lies in the center of her being.
