Pannekoeken are Dutch, but are common in South Africa (where they serve their own variation) because of colonization.

Atayef is more commonly spelled Qatayef (pronunciation of the first syllable varies by region).

Multiple people are arguing in the notes about what does/doesn’t constitute a pancake, some quite fervently, and i am very much enjoying all your displeasure!
