The solo on this is pretty ridiculous. The guitarist gleefully set up his amp poorly and so there’s a lot of runaway feedback, with which he just tears into a wall of blues chords. I guess it gives it a neat effect, but I bet he and everyone at the band’s concerts has wicked tinnitus now.

The remains of a mid-16th century church known as the Temple of Santiago is visible Friday from the surface of the Grijalva River due to the lack of rain near the town of Nueva Quechula, in Chiapas state, Mexico.

Its solitary ruins were rediscovered by Western explorers in the late 19th century and have been the subject of archaeological study since 1982. They stand today among the best-preserved examples of frontier fortifications from the Roman Empire. Since 2001, Jordan has sought their inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List, a distinction contingent upon the site’s continued restoration and protection.
