deleting a post makes me feel like i'm trying to erase evidence i ever said the thing, but not deleting a post makes me feel like i'm standing by it and still agree with it. i want a third option. like the community notes on twitter but where it's just a little flag that's like "OP has since admitted that this was a stupidass take."

I think Bluey, the 2018 Australian childrens' cartoon created by Joe Brumm, might actually be my favorite art. Like, of all art I've ever been exposed to, from any genre, medium, culture or time period, from books to music to images to film. If someone said to me "for what piece of art do you most want to see more art that makes you feel the way that art made you feel" I think I would pick Bluey. Not sure what that says about me but it's how I feel.

public transit should be free. healthcare should be free. there should be a universal basic income and it should be enough to live a pleasant life, not just to survive. we should have a georgist-style land tax. we should have a 100% estate tax. we should nationalize the railroads and the electrical grid and cellphone companies and facebook and amazon and banks in general. it should be impossible for any one person to have a net worth above like five million dollars or an annual income above like 800k because it would all immediately get taxed away. publicly traded corporations should be illegal. anything with more than like 10 employees should legally have to become a worker-owned cooperative. but other than minor common-sense reforms like that i actually kinda like capitalism, so i think of myself as more of a centrist liberal than a socialist.

there is no afterlife. there's no heaven or hell. we're made out of atoms. souls aren't real. when we die, we stop existing completely. i know because a fairy told me in a dream.
