It’s been a long time since I wanted to start my own artist account, but due to the heavy burden of my study or some other excuses, this plan has somehow been delayed for years. I’ve heard that rumination is a draining state of mind. If I keep daydreaming about the road not taken yet never act, I will run out of energy.
In November 2025, I came across an adorable Phainaxa fanfic on AO3 by @sunrevv. I drew some doodles and showed them to the writer. She generously praised my little paintings and asked if I had an artist account. I thought, it is time.
If one doesn’t practice for a long time, they would become rusty. For example, small talk in English used to be a small case for me. But yesterday, when a foreigner asked me the way to the high-speed railway station, I couldn’t find my words. And I haven’t really done serious paintings for a while, let alone improved my skills.
I regard fan creation as a kind of adult fairy tale that makes up for the regrets in the original work. I want to draw more while I still have the passion.
I wrote these words down to remind myself where I started and to encourage myself to keep on going.
