Qifrey is a water witch, Olruggio is a fire witch. Qifrey was convinced to start specialising in water by Olruggio to help with his fear of water, and Olruggio specialises in contraptions, alot of them focusing on drying somebody, or warming someone up, ADORABLE.

I like to think olly made the link rings with qifrey in mind.

Even when qifrey gets rid of Ollys memories, you can see the regret in his eyes for the panels after, the fact that multiple times, Olruggio has been the one to allow qifrey to erase his memories is just a kind of trust that...personally, goes beyond the love of "friends"
