Selling The Rose Ticket Amsterdam
Hi, FML IΒ wonβt be able to go to the concert tomorrow (Nov 14. 7pm) T_T :( So Iβm selling 1 balcony online ticket willing to sell a bit cheaper than original price (over paypal) message me if interestedΒ thx
the βi was abused by an ace/aro, their community is bad!β argument is so mindblowing likeβ¦. i was abused by a bi girl, does that condemn the entire bi community? no. it does not. jfc.
But the ace community supports that abuse. If an asexual person forces their partner to not have sex ((something extremely important to non-aces)) then thatβs abuse, and the ace community supports it.
π€‘
how do you force someone Not to have sex with you can someone translate this from incelspeak
bro did this fucker just say that people not sleeping with them are abusers? are we just advocating for rapist and incel rights now or what
I was in line at Aldi and this girl with two toddlers in front of me had her card declined and she looked so fucking sad and saidΒ βlet me call my husband real quickβ and it was only 18 dollars, so I just paid for it, and she was very sweet and then as she walked off, the lady behind me said `βYou know that was probably a scam, right?β and like, even if it was, like what a sad fucking scam, right? 18 dollars at the Aldi. If youβreΒ βscammingβ me for some Tyson chicken and apple juice and cauliflower, then just take my fucking money.Β
βA scamβ people are fucking wild.Β Β
This happened to me, too. A woman had used WIC for the majority of her stuff (which I say from personal experience is such a long and embarrassing process) and to buy the remainder of her groceries, which included diapers and wipes, she used a card, and it got declined. I bought the other $30 of her groceries because hey, Iβve been there, and now Iβm not. She was extremely emotional and began to cry and even hugged me. My mom called me on the drive home and could tell I had been crying myself, asked what was wrong, and when I told her what happened, she berated me for being βduped.β I couldnβt believe she could be so disappointed in one of her children for doing something- nice? Is that the hill you want to die on? Getting mad about people needing groceries?
I once paid for a womanβs bill at the vetβ¦it wasnβt a big one, but she was trying to pay for some medication for her dog, and her card was declined. And her lip started trembling, and she saysΒ βI donβt get paid until Tuesday, would he be ok until then?βΒ
So I just told them to add the $20 something onto my bill, and I thought she was going to break down crying right there.
And I donβt care if it was a scam or not. Just do nice things for people sometimes.Β
Do good recklessly.
I think βDo good recklesslyβ would be fantastic word art to hang on oneβs wall. Artistic people, go!
Story time. I had a sick kid who spent a lot of time in the NICU, in cardiologists offices, and in the ER. I also went into kidney failure shortly after giving birth and began growing weird lumps in places lumps shouldnβt be. At the end of the first two years we had mortgage style medical debt. It was also the perfect opportunity for the economy to freefall and we became a single income household for an uncomfortable period of time.
We may have been eating ramen and on-cor meals every night but I had far too much pride to ask for help.Β
That Christmas all of our holiday shopping was done at The Dollar Tree. The girls were given $10 to buy things for their favorite people and we made crafts to fill in the gaps. I didnβt want to steal their joy even though I wasnβt sure if Iβd have enough gas to get to work the next week. To them ten dollars was $100β¦ to me it was figuring out how to make the grocery budget stretch a little extra.
As we were about to checkout my oldest daughter walked up to me and handed me a stack of gift cards. Confused and concerned she may have pickpocketed someone (she could be shifty at that age) I asked her to tell me where she got them. She pointed to a lady fleeing out of the store and said βshe told me to give these to you after she left. She asked me if you were a good mom. I told her you were and she gave me the whole pileβ. Β Needless to say I spent the better part of the next thirty minutes ugly crying in the middle of the dollar store.
The cashier told me she would come in every few days during December and look for a family who seemed like they could use it. There was $300 in gift cards and that was just enough to get some bills caught up with a little extra to spoil the kids.
Be someoneβs dollar tree lady and shame on anyone who tries to smother your compassion.
The ancient Celtic virtue ofΒ βGart,β orΒ βopenhandedness.β Those who are able help those who need help. Not so we can buy our way into Heaven. Not to set our Karma aright. Not to give ourselves a warm fuzzy feeling. But because it is what an honorable person does.
consider: itβs ok for asexuals and aromantics to create terms that help them describe their experiences and how they experience their attraction. it also costs zero (0) dollars to respect that instead of making fun of them just because you donβt understand.
Free and easy! Respect! Try it today!

I feel like I'm losing vocabulary and fluency in my native language by reading and writing too much in english everyday, but I'm also still not able to express myself properly in english and I'm stuck in between the two languages, sometimes I even feel like I adapt my thinking to my ability to express thoughts so I end up thinking in a simplified way... I hate it... dear bilinguals, is there a way to overcome this problem? How do you learn new words in both languages and not forget?
Excellent question. Iβve never gotten to that point in my language learning before so Iβll leave this one to the capable hands of the blog.Β
Can any of you help anon out?
Exposure to both languages on a regular basis - TV shows, books, SPEAKING WITH SOMEONE. That last one is possibly the most important. I am bilingual, living in an English-speaking country, and the only reason I still can speak my native language (albeit, not as fluently as Iβd like) is because I speak with my family exclusively in my native langue. Keep at it, keep going - there isnβt much else you can do.
Also, keep in mind that you would have forgotten words in your native language even without learning a new language. Thatβs how things work - if you donβt use something, it atrophies. Itβs okay to not remember a word sometimes! Itβs part of the multilingual experience, in my opinion, and you should embrace it instead of lamenting it. Nobody will know if you had to look at a dictionary to write/read something ;) Youβre amazing! Youβre bilingual! Be proud of yourself ^_^
Hi, Speech Pathologist and Linguistics and Cognitive science grad here. Β Bilingualism isnβt usually an equally fluent in both or more languages thing. So firstly, donβt hate on yourself. Most Bilinguals feel more comfortable using one language for one thing and another for other things. Home vs business or school languages or maybe in your case home vs fic language. Β Emotions, family knowledge, dreams feel more easily expressed in a native tongue and concepts like block chains, normal distribution curves, the work of Charlotte Bronte or the take my money meme are more easily expressed in another. Β
It isnβt an either or. You wonβt learn a term in one language and lose it in the other. Β Chances are you learnt that vocab, grammatical structure in one language and have never had the opportunity to or the need to acquire it in the other. If you doβ¦ you will learn both. Β Things may appear to atrophy but with the right environmental stimulus your re learning curve is dramatically different from a new learner to the language. Things that were lost do not remain lost.
Now for the even better news. Β Speaking, reading or writing in more than one language makes your brain so much more awesome. Β Languages are stored (pathways laid down) in different places. Β If, the gods forbid, you were to have a Brocaβs or Wernikes area stroke there is evidence to show that you knowing more that one language would mean you would keep access to language more readily including a case of one man I know of who could understand in Spanish and respond in Arabic (I may have gotten those details a little off there itβs been a while) despite the damage done to the language areas of the brain. Β Bilingualism is correlated with reduced development of dementia and increased flexible intelligence.
Language learning is a ego bruising experience especially because of the expressive vs receptive divide (we can often understand much more than we are able to articulate as we learn, both in our first and then other languages) We canβt help but reflect on how limiting the not being able to say what we could say so easily in one language is. Β And how we must be viewed by others. Β Or how we view others who speak our native language at the level we speak our new language. Ego bruising experiences are good for the soul sometimes. It teaches us tenacity, patience and compassion. Β Embrace the bruise and keep using your helpful thoughts,Β βBecoming more is hard but worth itβ
Itβs okay to be concerned about losing your native language to English though. Β Linguistic imperialism is a fundamental concern of sociolinguists. Β Much of our identity and culture is only fully understood and transmitted through our native tongues. Loss of language is a valid fear. Β It has done significant damage to peoples throughout history. If your native language is not actively being destroyed by the forces of colonialism, cultural imperialism or the economic pressures put on peoples all over the world by monolingual companies and the hope of higher paying jobs then your fight against the rising tide of English will be a strong and probably effective one.Β
