Bringing this back

(Reader thinks Soap's a fuckboy or only into very conventionally attractive women, Soap thinks Reader's uncomfortable around him, etc),

until that fateful day where Soap eavesdrops (accidentally at first, then on purpose) on a convo where Reader is teased about their crush on him and vehemently retorts it's not true, and even if it was, there'd be no point because Soap would never be interested even in a million years.

Cue Soap mentally cheering and punching the air. Then he proceeds to later hit on Reader by bracing his forearm against the wall behind them and say flirtiously "So I heard you're into blue-eyed, beefy scottish men?"

And, unfortunately for Reader, there's currently no one else on base fitting that description, so all denial attempts are in vain. Soap revels in turning them into a flustered, stuttering, just a bit indignant mess.

From there on, I see two scenarios:

Angst: Reader thinks he's taking the piss, shoves him away and gives him the silence treatement. Cue Soap needing to understand their thought process, giving them their space and then apologize and reassure them of the sincerity of his feelings.
