The night market was crowded, loud, and way more chaotic than either of them expected.

Ghost paused when someone brushed a little too close behind Soap. His hand immediately shifted to his lower back, guiding him slightly forward.

Soap glanced sideways. “You just did the thing.”

G: “I didn’t do anything.”

S: “You did the protective-hand thing.”

G: “It’s crowded.”

S: “You moved me like I’m classified equipment.”

*Ghost huffs and mumbles some nonsense *

Soap smiled, trying not to look too pleased.

A guy nearby bumped Soap again while squeezing past.

Ghost’s expression changed instantly — not aggressive, just calm and very deliberate as he stepped slightly between them.

Soap nudged him lightly. “Relax, Sim-.”

G: “I’m relaxed.”

S: “You just squared your shoulders.”

G: “I always stand like this.”

S: “You’re blocking me.”

G: “I’m improving traffic flow.”

Soap laughed under his breath. “You’re being possessive.”

G: “I’m being practical.”

S: “Uh-huh.”

They kept walking, and Soap stopped at a small stand, picking up a bracelet.

“You should get one,” Soap said casually.

Ghost looked at the vendor, then back at Soap. “Which one are you getting?”

S: “This one.”

G: “Then I’m getting the same one.”

Soap raised an eyebrow. “Matching?”

G: “No. Identification.”

S: “Identification?”

G: “So people know you’re with me.”

Soap’s smile softened immediately. “You’re not subtle, you know.”

G: “I’m not trying to be.”

The vendor handed them the bracelets, and Ghost slipped his on without hesitation.

Soap looked at him, amused. “You’re worse on our honeymoon.”

G: “I’m off duty.”

S: “So off duty means… acting like this?”

Ghost glanced around briefly, then back at Soap.

G: “Off duty means I don’t have to pretend I don’t care.”

Soap went quiet for a second, clearly affected.

S: “…You keep standing on my outside.”

G: “Safer position.”

S: “You keep watching everyone who gets close.”

G: “Situational awareness.”

Soap smiled softly, then bumped his shoulder lightly.

S: “You’re ridiculous.”

G: “You don’t mind.”

S: “…I really don’t.”

Someone else brushed close again, and Ghost instinctively guided Soap forward with a light touch.

Ghost just smiled, completely insufferable now.

S: “You know, if this is the honeymoon phase—”

G: “It is.”

S: “—I don’t want it to end.”

Ghost: Motivation.

Soap: What motivation?

Ghost: You said yesterday my arms looked “average.”

Soap: I said slightly above average.

Ghost huffs: That’s basically an insult.

Soap: You’ve been staring at me between sets for ten minutes.

Ghost: I’m observing my competition.
