Welcome to Fairy Tale Bingo 2026, where dreams are made and happily ever afters come true. Or do they? That dear creator is up to you.
Fairy Tale Bingo is a flash even inspired by fairy tales, mythology, legends, fables, etc. Here is the general information and rules for the updated 2025 event. General Rules and Guidelines
Each participant can receive up to two cards
There are two card sizes available, Flash 1x5 and Mini 3x3
There are three themes for cards, Disney, Grimm, and Mixed
Disney prompts are happily ever after prompts, if something happened in a Disney or Disney adjacent style movie or book, then it is up for grabs to be a prompt.
Grimm prompts are darker in nature. They will generally be NSFW such as rape/non-con, death, blood, gore, violence, torture, etc.
If you do not want any of these prompts, select a Disney or Mixed, but note if you don’t want one or two of the categories listed above. If you want a darker Disney that is an option, leave me a note.
If you participated in 2024 or 2025 and didn’t finish your card(s), no problem. You can still get two new cards for this year and combine prompts from the previous years.
If you are a minor, you will not receive a Grimm card.
If you are a minor, your works should be rated G and T, nothing above that.
You can combine multiple prompts in whatever you create.
Tag your works appropriately.
Interpret the prompts how you want, the possibilities are endless.
You can combine this card(s) with other events, as long as it is allowed in the other events rules.
It can be apart of a previous work, but should be a new chapter or part in a series.
You can create whatever you want. Fanfic, original work, poetry, moodboards, playlists, tiktok videos, etc, all open for creating.
NO Generative AI!!!!
If you have any questions, feel free to send me a DM or ask. I will get back to you as quickly as I can.
As I’m only one person, I can’t give a deadline on when cards will be going out. I will work on them, as quickly as I can with the time I have. I will try to have a queue list available for you. I will update as cards are made and sent.
If you are wanting a reblog tag @fairytalebingo and use the tag #fairytale bingo
The makers of Kinktober 2025 are back again with a brand new list! The graphics are once again created by latte-cucumber. Check out our AO3 collection, or keep reading for more information.
More information
Kinktober is a kinky October prompt challenge that’s been running in one form or another since 2016. There are three prompts for each day in October, and the challenge is to use one (or more!) of the prompts to create something for that day. If you don’t want to use any of the three daily prompts, you can swap them out for the bonus prompts at the bottom of the prompt list.
If you have any questions, check our FAQs. Unfortunately, due to personal commitments, we won't be opening our askbox for questions this year. We've made it as rules-light as possible, though, so if your question is "Can I do this?", the answer is almost certainly yes!

I do and this is a threat. Or a promise, I guess, since you literally asked for it. Anyone else can wish this upon themselves by clicking on the read more!!
First of all: Sorry, @wynnefic, for taking so long!! I hope you enjoyed the recs from last time, if you've managed to read them. If so/not, here's more!!
Now. The Recs
(Disclaimer: I will not be reccing @voxofthevoid-furious' fics, because if you haven't already found and devoured them all, I have no idea how to help you.)
Yuuji-centric
jujutsu kaisen
Frankenstein by catharsixii, which I already recced in this post (and the post and its replies have some good recs in them as well!!), but since then it's been updated and gained a relationship tag, though the ship isn't overt yet. It's canon divergent, taking place during the events of JJK 0 but before the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons, and the first chapter already had me hooked so you can imagine how excited I was to see the second.
Heavy is the Crown by Ezallamir, a role reversal fic that takes place after the Shibuya Incident where Yuuji takes the place of Yuuta and vice versa, except they each keep their canon abilities. Author sticks to that fact faithfully, not just in terms of what the characters can do but how the world handles them, and it made for an amazing read, not just because of what we see happen but because of the background world-building the author implies so well.
I Just Sighed, the Universe Replied by Saturnniidae and Location Not Found. Rerouting. by srvipers are both crossover fics, both set in Boku no Hero Academia, but happening to different Yuujis--first Yuuji is fresh off the Shinjuku showdown, second mid-Shibuya Incident. Both of them do my favourite thing about crossover fics, which is digging into how goddamn buckwild both the crossover character and world look to each other. Neither of them are far in yet, but what's there is unique to each fic and very interesting!!
two six eight by siqwithaQ. Remember when I recced vessel of greatness and said it was pivotal to my understanding of sukuita (platonic and not)? Yeah, this is more of that. It Gets Them, both of them, and it's written in Sukuna's PoV which only makes it more insane. It's less than five hundred words. This fic is not a rec but a threat. I am holding a gun to your head. Read This Or Else.
Tyger, Tyger by Messier_47 is going here because it was posted before Modulo was, but it does feature post-canon Yuuji who's travelled back in time to unfuck the timeline. It's an absolute blast to read, fun and interesting both in premise and execution.
modulo
Ancient bonds hold strong, even when strings are frayed by miyaboozzzen, which is exactly what the summary promises. Very lighthearted and almost comedic.
Does It Matter? by TheCongo, which is a crossover fic set in the Frieren universe. Markedly different tone from the previous rec as well--Yuuji is not having a great time here. Neither are any of the demons he comes across. Fun look at this Yuuji's morals and experiences and strength running up against this world, and how the world and its people react to it.
Sanctuary of Future is by three different authors and falls into a strange category. If you look at the summary, you'll see why. The canon cast of Jujutsu Kaisen watch Modulo canon with Yuuji, except it's Modulo Yuuji they're watching it with. Very fun, though!! Amazing grasp on its ensemble cast and how they react to what they see, which is only more impressive to read because the fic is written in multiple PoVs.
Shallow Ends by SinningSaint is being tentatively recced in this category, because I straight up don't know for sure which Yuuji is in it, but it haunts me. Its first chapter is such a perfect hook I have not stopped checking on this fic since I found it. It's another crossover fic, set in the Naruto universe, so far told in the PoV of a Naruto character I wasn't even aware existed, but it's written so well and features such a compelling premise that I don't care. It currently only has one chapter and this fact haunts me, because I am so curious to see how the tags will show themselves in the fic.
The Father of Quirks by TheHonouredLarper is another crossover fic, set in Boku no Hero Academia like a couple of the others are, but unlike the others, it's Modulo Yuuji. It also fascinates me. I love the Yuuji, the plot, the tonal difference depending on whose PoV the story is being told by. Last update ended on a cliffhanger, but everything that's come before is intriguing.
The Weight Of Infinity by ZuviNat is another haunter. Modulo Yuuji appears in the middle of the Gojo vs Sukuna showdown, and, well. Modulo Yuuji is a very different beast from Shinjuku Showdown Yuuji. Its first and as of this post final chapter ends on a cliffhanger, but it's marked as a multichap so I have hope, because I'm so curious as to what will happen next.
goyuu
A place for the damned by Hyoushin, which is amongst my favourite of Hyoushin's fics. A lot of this list will feature their works. This one is post-Shibuya, posted before Gojo was unsealed, and it is fun. I think about a particular scene in it Often. Fic is low-stakes and painless and delivers on the promise of the tags so evocatively that I come back to it whenever I crave the specific tone it sets.
All You See Are Sympathetic Eyes by blue_jack haunts me a normal amount. It's post-canon, everything is beautiful style setting, but people are hurting, I am hurting. This premise packs such a punch and pulls absolutely nothing but it's written so well that I do not care. I suffer happily. I walk into the fire again and again, because I have reread this fic, and I will keep doing so. Anyway. Actual plot details. Yuuji has a crush on Gojo that is not reciprocated till it is, but with incredible smut that also makes me want to howl at the sky.
attack, decay, sustain, release by aosc, which I have reblogged all the fic posts of but its last chapter was posted years ago. Regardless, it is worth it. Genuinely one of the most amazing portrayals of Gojo's character voice I have ever read. Digs into the aftermath of everything to do with the Shibuya Incident and what came after, which sounds boring on paper but made for a fascinating read with how well the author keeps up with both the events themselves and the reactions to those events, both from sorcerers and not. Also, there is a road trip in it, and I'm unreasonably fond of those.
blessed are the peacemakers by kadal is a fun, short, lighthearted fic taking place during the basement era, and it nails the vibe so well that I love it. I just. Love it. Gojo put his student in his basement and his student does not think this is strange and it shows. It's great.
clutched is by an anonymous author, and it haunts me. It has haunted me for years. It will continue to haunt me. If the second-person PoV puts you off, I'm sorry, but this author does the most amazing, incredible things with it. I have no words for this fic other than that it takes every advantage of the PoV and writes the most devastating thing I have ever read.
cat owner, also by kadal, is more of the first, except it's post-Goodwill Event. Yuuji has a cat and it's his six-three, weird as hell sensei, and Yuuji's only concerns with this are not the correct ones. No one is surprised.
cradle by prindec is set during the basement era, and it's soft-adjacent. It gets as close to soft as a sorcerer's world can get, especially when that sorcerer is Yuuji, cage of the King of Curses. It sets the scene so well and so clearly and it never sacrifices character voice to do it, and every time, the ending feels like getting gutted. Does the same thing as blessed are the peacemakers for me, which is provide a perfect understanding of why I ship these two.
Days like these by Hyoushin is multiple snippets in one oneshot, all taking place during different periods and settings, some in alternate universes, and I love them all. Fic feels like a slice of something for everyone regardless of preference.
Enough (A Cinderella Story) by athena_crikey is set in an alternate universe in which Gojo is the frontman of a band and Yuuji is a genuinely good person, so of course Gojo falls in love with him in one night. It's a sweet story, and it made me laugh more than once. It's almost exactly what it says on the tin, except I don't think Cinderella got in-advisably drunk.
Entombed by JoWithTheFlow is one of my favourite time travel JJK fics, fullstop. Seventeen year old Yuuji goes back in time to the Hidden Inventory era, and it's exactly as tragic and funny and amazing as that sounds. I have so, so many scenes from it saved, and I love them all. The fic also deals with my favourite thing about time travel, which is the loneliness of it, and it does it so well.
Familiar Crossroads by Hyoushin has 14 year old, pre-canon Yuuji meeting 27 year old, mid-JJK 0 Gojo, and it just. Nails it. I want to live and breathe in this world. It's such a fascinating version of goyuu to meet and interact and fall in like, and the ending omake in the author's note has made me laugh like hell without fail every time I read it. I adore this fic.
Kaleidoscope is yet another fic written by Hyoushin, and like all the others, I love it. This one is outsider PoVs, but all people who know goyuu, reacting to their relationship, and it handles it so well. The character voices, the scenes, the writing, the way goyuu change each other, how their personalities and morals shift or adapt to their affection for each other--it's just a good fic.
Like melting, falling by Dehawny is The goyuu kissing fic To Me. The writing, the characterization, the interactions between goyuu, the kissing itself, it's all amazing and I love it. Gives me the same feeling cradle does, that renewed realisation of why I've spent three years so far so insane about these two.
Pawprint Problems by mossterunderthebed is a fic I have reblogged and praised before, but I'm doing it again because this is my blog and this fic is adorable. I said it best in my tags, but again, this fic is so soft. It's so fluffy. It's like if the cure for heartbreak was real, because this fic is it. Goyuu get turned into cats, and despite that, they are still so very goyuu.
sometimes you burn by moondrew is another fic I have reblogged and praised before, but, again. This is my blog, and I fucking love this fic. I love all this author's fics. Her writing is gorgeous, and this fic makes me genuinely insane. It's basement era, set around the time of the Vs Mahito arc but before the emotional trauma, featuring a Yuuji who's just been woken out of a dead sleep by his teacher appearing at his bedside like a blood soaked specter, except the specter would be way less eerie.
the before by Cassia_Bea takes one of the most mundane premises I have ever come across, and executes it to perfection. It is Gojo and Yuuji driving to places together, sharing snacks and talking, and that description feels like such a disservice because it is also an excellent, nearly-8k words long glimpse of goyuu and why they just...click. It's them, existing, and it is so clear they want to do that together.
The Blue Omen by blueberrykeki is a time travel fic, in which a post-Shinjuku Yuuji travels back in time to when Gojo was a student, except 2018 Gojo comes with Yuuji--in a way. Does things and goes places I've never seen before, alongside factoring in the way the world would change with what happened at Shibuya and Shinjuku and etc compared to the more peaceful past.
The view from above by Hyoushin is a time travel fix-it fic, in which post-canon Yuuji goes back to the Shibuya Incident to unseal and save Gojo. Excellent Yuuji porn, if your idea of porn is Yuuji being powerful and competent, which it should be. Gojo is so very himself (derogatory) in it as well.
Upturned skies by hyoushin is a role reversal fic in which Yuuji is Gojo and co's teacher. Fic takes place during the Hidden Inventory arc and uses that fact to the fullest, with all the highs and lows that implies.
We're Spinning 'Round the Sun by sempervirentis is everything is beautiful and nothing hurts, and I love it so much. Yuuji is as oblivious as Gojo is obvious, everyone else suffers, and there's many moments in the fic where I wanted to stab Gojo, but only in the most complimentary to the author ways. He's just so himself that I can't help it. But Yuuji is Yuuji, so he doesn't mind and actually loves the guy, which shows.
you think you are possessing me (but i've got my teeth in you) is another fic by moondrew, and it's. God. It makes me descend into howling. She writes Yuuji and Gojo and goyuu so, so well. I have devoured every one of her fics and I will do the same for anything else she posts in future. Anyway. This one features Yuuji gaining Sukuna's cannibalistic urges, and Gojo helping him out, because he is so very noble like that.
Your reverence my cage by Bowredone is Modulo Yuuji going back in time to 2018, and he is so delightfully fucked up from All Of That. Gojo does not help even a little. Canon Yuuji is also there, and he's trying his best, but, well. Gojo is Gojo and Modulo Yuuji is Modulo Yuuji. He was doomed from the start, and the author writes it beautifully.
oh, I know I won't be leaving here by wynnebat fascinates me. I've never seen a Yuuji like it, and I mean that in the best way. It's basement era, and Yuuji's voice is great, I love it, it just blindsided me almost immediately and I say that as a compliment. After three years being insane about JJK, this was the most unique take on Gojo hitting on Yuuji and Yuuji reacting to that I've ever seen, and it's the reason I've stalked this author's profile since. Also enjoyed check me in and check me out and and the moon shines bright as bone by the same author
sukuita
bare your soft parts, i’ll split them open by nerodiseppia Gets It. It's sukuita fucking, nasty, and fucking nasty, all at the same time, and the author writes it so deliciously that I would lick it off a plate if I could.
blame it on a black star by moondrew also gets It, but to be fair, this author always Gets It. I've reblogged this fic and yelled about it in the tags before, and that one time still isn't enough, because this fic is perfect. There are no other words to describe it. It is sex and character study. It takes the concept of sharing your soul and skull with a man who is remembered as a monster a thousand years after his death, and digs into every delicious detail of that fact.
Tying the Knot by MitchMatchedSocks is A/B/O set in a no curses verse. It's also amazing and gross and digs into the incredibly fucked up family dynamics of Jin, Wasuke and Kaorijkau all pitching in to raise Yuuji, and the kind of person and alpha he'd grow up to be, both from nurture and nature, because his insanity is just that singular. Sukuna thinks he will have a great time till he doesn't and then he does again, and the ending of this fic made me laugh so hard I nearly cried.
bonus round: Yuuji/Other
this love which rots and softens by mossterunderthebed is not quite single-handedly responsible for getting me into okkoita, but that's only because mossterunderthebed themselves played a huge part in making me sit up and take notice of this ship. it is over 22 thousand words of okkoita developing alongside the world recovering from all of canon, through the good and bad and traumatic and healing, and I am in love with it.
love, love, love by Cassia_Bea is childhood sweethearts okkoita who aren't quite secretly dating, except no one knows Yuuta's got a boyfriend till they do. Gojo goes on to meet that boyfriend in telepathy, teleportation, television or something the exact same way he meets Yuuji in canon, except for the complication of Yuuta dating him.
End In Sight by anonymous is hard to explain. It's adult Yuuji with teenage Toji, Gojo and Geto are Toji's classmates, and Megumi is Toji's dad. A role reversal is probably the most concise description. It is also hot as fuck. Toji does his best to seduce Yuuji, and Yuuji resists till he doesn't.
And that's all!! Excluding voxofthevoid, but it goes without saying that I rec every single one of his fics. I hope, whoever is reading this, that you enjoy the fics
Heated Rivalry: The Unauthorized Musical Parody (play): highly recommended if you're a Heated Rivalry fan near NYC, I had a spectacular time! Very funny, great songs
I Saw the TV Glow (drama/psychological horror movie): awkward 90s kids who get way too into their favorite tv show, immaculate vibes, trans themes. Left me wanting more and thinking a lot about the ending. A24 you got me again. I'm not a huge movie person but if more movies were like this, I'd be thrilled
Witch Hat Atelier (fantasy anime): I was prepared not to care too much about this and then it got to me with its cuteness. Once again I'm an anime watch party victim etc etc
Doppelbänger by W.H. Lockwood: a sci-fi romance in which our main character August Blackthorne falls in love with an alternate dimension version of himself, silly fun, low angst with a happily ever after. It reminded me of those Harry/Harry selfcest fics that I'm sure everyone also read 15 years ago in the HP fandom
Long Sukuna fanart by pvrando (JJK): I laugh every time I think of this. New favorite fanart 💕
the vessel's vessel by femdomfandom (JJK, Kaorijaku/Jin): the first in a canon divergence series where Kenjaku sticks around to raise Yuuji while convincing himself that it's all part of an evil plan
a tragic event that has not happened yet by twoif (JJK): a really interesting fic in exam question format, tagged "Itadori Yuji is his own trolley problem"
The monster you've made is wearing the crown by b_drock, borialover, wishound (JJK, gen): this Modulo Yuuji time travel fic has me gnawing on walls. The difference in Yuuji's personality aaaaaaa

Saw this meme going around (post by Tozette here) and thought it would be fun! I'm going with the top 10 by number of fics written in the fandom.
Rules: List your first fics in every fandom and how you feel about them.
Harry Potter: A Hand to Hold (Draco/Harry, 2010)
Thoughts: The ancient texts! This story was originally posted on Livejournal during my brief Draco/Harry phase. It was one of my very first slash ships. I had found my way to FFN (by way of Quizilla to Fictionpress to FFN) and learned that not only could you ship two canon characters together (prior to this I had only encountered canon character/OFC), you could do so with two men. Amazing! I remember writing this all in one go with divine slashy inspiration. The fic itself is not good. Still, like with most of my old writing I'm fond of it.
Teen Wolf: Schrodinger's Wolves (Peter/Stiles, 2014)
Thoughts: My first OTP, Steter 🥰 Prior to Teen Wolf, I multishipped like mad in my fandoms. My focus turned mainly to Peter/Stiles in this fandom and I learned what it was like to get obsessed with a ship. I still think fondly of the friends I made in this fandom and all the good times, but this particular fic is a victim of big "wow I really wouldn't write it that way today" thoughts. I know past me had a vision, alas I don't quite see it anymore.
MCU: On Guard (Leverage crossover, Eliot & Tony, 2015)
Thoughts: Ahh I don't remember writing this one, it was for a quick flashfic event. But on a reread I stand by it, I like what I was going for. Eliot Spencer should absolutely save Tony from a kidnapping. Right on right on. They could kiss about it too.
Voltron: A Ladder Most Handsome (Pidge/Shiro, 2016)
Thoughts: A short fic where Pidge ogles Shiro's height and muscles, as one does. More of an exercise in finding character voice than anything else, but it paved the way for writing more fun fics in this fandom.
Naruto: Broken Promises (OFC & team 7, 2007)
Thoughts: Glorious. Fabulous. Incredible. A hot mess, of course. This was my first fanfiction and it was originally posted on Quizilla, a long-defunct quiz and fanfiction site comparable to Wattpad. There's a part of me that will forever mourn Quizilla's custom homepages and sparkly cursors. This fic is not the same without its original rainbow skull and crossbones background. I left the text itself in its original state when I ported it to AO3 many years later except for one egregiously ableist bit I cut out because it made me wince too hard. There's an aside in the middle of the fic where the author and the reader have a dialogue. It's great.
Supernatural: The English Encounter (HP crossover, Harry/French Mistake Episode Jensen, 2013)
Thoughts: Over a decade later and I still find The French Mistake to be one of the funniest things I've watched. Supernatural, you were so good when you deigned to be good. This was one of several HP/Supernatural crossovers that I wrote during this time period. Very nostalgic. The fic itself reads as dated but still funny to me. I should probably worry that this means my sense of humor is stuck in the early 2010s. I was largely a Wincest shipper in this fandom, so this was just a cute aside to my real fandom interests.
Kingsman: At Hello (Harry/Eggsy, 2015)
Thoughts: I remember writing and posting this all in a rush because I discovered Hartwin Week 2015 on its very last day. Reading this left me with a smile because it's very recognizably my sort of fic, it has my tropes and my ship dynamics and my silly dialogue. I knew what I was about a decade ago.
Bleach: Hang the Pendulum (Ichigo/Kisuke, 2018)
Thoughts: I couldn't resist joining an UraIchi event and this was the result! Must have been for one of the first events by the UraIchi server. Fix-it, getting together, friends to lovers, all very correct. Extremely cute. I read in the Bleach fandom far more than I wrote in it, but what I did write I enjoyed a lot.
Sherlock: As You Were (Mycroft/Lady Smallwood, 2017)
Thoughts: A cute pinch hit for the Het Swap exchange that I'd completely forgotten I wrote. When I think of my Sherlock fics, it's usually my Molly/Eurus phase that comes to mind, looks like that occurred a little later.
Jujutsu Kaisen: and the moon shines bright as bone (Gojo/Yuuji, 2026)
Thoughts: I thought I'd left my anime phase behind and then life hit me upside the head. I am not immune to propaganda, especially not when it's in the form of weekly anime watch parties. Obnoxious. Anyway, I'm having a great time in the fandom! It hasn't been long enough for me to be objective about this fic, but it's a cute soulmate AU and I'm happy with it as my first fic in the fandom.
Tagging anyone who wants to do the thing! @ me, I'd love to read your post 😄
it's been a minute since I've recced anything, so here's some stuff that's brought me joy recently:
backrooms (horror movie): accurate depiction of what it's like on day 1 at an office where the layout is confusing and the people are all scary. very fun, loved the 90s setting
how to fake it in society by kj charles (gay romance novel): I just love it when one dude deceives another but is falling in love the whole time. chef's kiss. everyone should always be lying more in fiction
Dollhouse by Graciously (svsss, bingqiu): in which binghe resurrects sqq but it goes poorly, memory loss/altered mental state, delicious angst
the small sublime surprises by QueerIsle (jjk, yuuji/yuuta/gojo): in which the birthday boys give themselves a gift and try to keep him
on top of the world and racing to the bottom by Anonymous (jjk, goyuu): in which first time dom yuuji discovers blackmail kink
Unsanctioned Match by MitchMatchedSocks (jjk, yuuji/sukuna, toji/sukuna, gojo/sukuna, yuuji/megumi): in which accidental incest leads to a collision between pro fighter sukuna and student yuuji's lives
The idea of goyuu with Yuuji as part of Suguru’s cult tickles me.
I like to imagine this as part of an AU where Wasuke dies earlier than in canon and a younger Yuuji gets placed with Kaorijaku. Surely the kid’s mom will help him through his grief! (Wasuke is rolling in his urn.) Kenjaku now regrets not changing bodies and very quickly gets tired of having to go “not now, darling, Mommy is doing soul experimentation in the next room.” Also Yuuji is a terrible Frankenstein’s assistant, keeps yelling about the bodies. Children these days, honestly.
And so Kenjaku stuffs a Sukuna finger into Yuuji’s sandwich and sends him off to the House of the Children of the Star with a note for Geto about how Yuuji can be used in Geto’s plans one day. Geto has some conflicting feelings about this monkey turned vessel for the king of curses that his creepy frenemy is sending his way, but ends up taking Yuuji in. Who knows, maybe having another kid around will be good for the girls.
Alas, the kids don’t get along. Everyone’s traumatized, no one’s had any therapy except for cult-style confessionals. The situation is not helped by Kenjaku dropping by every few months with a finger for Yuuji to eat. Set menu, no going to your room without finishing your plate.
The girls can’t accept that non-sorcerers can be good, while Yuuji has enough memories of happy times with his grandfather and at school to know that all this about monkeys is crap. The arguments are ear-splitting, but over time they learn to get along as long as it’s not on certain subjects. Being around Yuuji still ends up softening their opinions, with Yuuji happily claiming the monkey insult because there’s nothing wrong with being one, and the girls benefiting from having a brother to chat with when they’re not arguing.
When Geto dies during the JJK0 plot and returns as Kenjaku, Yuuji and the girls are familiar enough with the forehead stitches to know what happened. After a hopeless fight where they get their asses kicked by Kenjaku, the three of them flee to Jujutsu High, hoping to become stronger as jujutsu sorcerers in order to take down Kenjaku.
And so you have Yuuji, Mimiko, and Nanako arriving to the place Geto scorned but also referred to as some of the best years of his life. They meet Gojo, finally learning more about the man Geto referred to as his former best friend without ever providing enough detail, as well as the current first year class and Gojo’s ward. Megumi’s around on campus a lot, training and preparing for his future as a jujutsu sorcerer, and he’s a lot less volatile than the current first years, who’ve met Geto and are unimpressed with the quest to save his body.
Good thing Gojo’s on board! Not only does he stave off Yuuji’s execution when the vessel thing gets out, but he joins the kids on their red string corkboard nights of connecting Kenjaku’s various plans to try to track their location.
Yuuji gets mailed Kaori’s urn and he has some big feelings about it, sparring them out with Gojo. He’s a little darker than he is in canon, having seen a lot already, but he has a good heart and a strong sense of purpose. He’s happy to share memories of the good times at the cult with Gojo, reminiscing on the meals and the jokes, the times Geto would play video games with them. Sometimes the girls join in too. The affection between Gojo and Yuuji starts off because of the fond and complicated feelings they have about Geto, but it doesn't end there.
Kenjaku goes to ground, but now that Gojo is determined to find them, it’s not too long before they’re located. By now, Yuuji and the rest have started their first year, and their mission ends up as bait for Kenjaku to resurface. Success!
After Kenjaku is taken care of, they're able to have a proper funeral for Geto and grieve properly. Meanwhile, the girls inherit the cult and start in on some reforms, having been worn down by everyone's insufferable morality. Yuuji convinces Mimiko and Nanako to stay with him at Jujutsu High despite them teasing him mercilessly about his crush on their teacher, but also they don't have anywhere to go, and also they want to make sure that this teacher treats their brother well.
"We're not getting together!" Yuuji tells them, but Mimiko and Nanako are very familiar with what it feels like to be drawn into Yuuji's orbit, albeit in a sibling fashion. They're already planning the wedding. It'll be great.
It takes a few years, but Mimiko and Nanako do get to walk Yuuji down the aisle, even if they don't manage to get him in a dress. Gojo's exactly as smitten as they thought he would be.

One summer day, a four-eyed, pregnant young man pops out of thin air and into Satoru’s bed. Satoru ends up keeping him.
Gojo Satoru didn't suffer from anything as banal as exhaustion. A short flight from a mission in Taiwan, the thrum of the engines and the air circling through the cabin, a selection of treats on offer that didn't tempt him nearly as much as the relief of stepping out of the plane. Almost four hours of developing a headache, smoothing the headache out of existence, then developing it again. He'd never been a good flier, bored and admittedly overstimulated. The car was already on the tarmac when he exited the plane, a manager behind the wheel whose face Satoru recognized but whose name he refused to remember because this was the guy Ijichi sent when he was avoiding Satoru, then the inevitable return to his secondary residence at Jujutsu High.
A long time ago, in the months after Suguru's defection, Satoru tested how long he could go without sleep. It turned out that even after two weeks he could keep his eyes open even as his brain felt like it might ooze out of his ears. Comparatively, four days of nonstop travel to every mildly strong curse in Taiwan while the top local sorcerers packed into a minivan asked him entirely too many questions about his techniques was nothing. Just left him irritated.
It wasn't the best mood to see neither his wards nor his students in. They'd survive the rest of the day, the afternoon already quickly falling to evening. Satoru sent off a brief text message warning Kinji and Kirara of a very important pop quiz the following morning, then dallied about with the fridge, suddenly ravenous after the flight. The strongest sorcerer alive wouldn't be bothered by some food poisoning, but the brief impulse to vomit didn't sound pleasant. He tipped the days-old leftovers into the trash. Microwave curry it was.
He ambled over toward his bedroom as he ate, mixing the overly hot parts with the overly cold parts. There was a noticeable situation developing over there, cursed energy running wild in anticipation, but nothing a human eye could detect. Even Six Eyes had trouble pinpointing the exact cause, only that it wouldn't be subtle, whatever it was. He slipped off his blindfold, curiosity getting to him, and wrapped the blindfold around his wrist.
Satoru stabbed a potato with his fork as he watched the cursed energy swell, stirring it through the curry before popping it in his mouth. He got another few bites in before the eruption finally occurred, a violent gust of energy that took the curtains down and stalled when it met Satoru's immovable force, twisting before folding into the shape of a man.
Right past Tengen's barrier and everything. Interesting, that. A curse user, not a curse, judging by the thundering aura.
No strange cursed energy event could have kept Satoru from his meal, so he took another bite.
The man who landed on his bed didn't give the impression of planning to attack him. He recovered quickly from whatever cursed technique brought him here, all four of his eyes snapping open. Warm brown, a nice shade but unnerving when doubled, a smaller, extra eye just to the side of each of the expected ones.
Those eyes widened as they took stock of Satoru, his head swiveling to take in Gojo Satoru, the room, and the bed.
"Oh, fuck," the curse user said all in a rush, scrambling out of the bed. He landed next to it, his hands not angling towards fists, his feet steady but not in a fighting position. "I'm wearing shoes. In your bed! Sorry, sorry."
"Someone will handle it," Satoru replied, waving his fork. This place was on the school's cleaning schedule, Satoru mainly around when returning from missions or in need of a place to lose his students for an hour between classes. "So, whatcha doing in my bed?"
The little hangdog expression suited the man. Alongside the short pink hair with a darker undercut that had been left to grow overlong, he didn't look too threatening to human eyes except for the facial scars. Late teens or early twenties, a muscular build hidden by loose pants and a hooded sweatshirt.
Harmless if not for the Six Eyes, which locked in on the mass of cursed energy sitting at the center of his abdomen. That wasn't a beer belly the man had, but something much, much worse.
"I didn't mean to, I promise," said the curse user. "I didn't, um, know exactly what the cursed technique would do. It wasn't supposed to land me here!"
"I don't suppose you did," Satoru agreed. The guy looked panicked enough. "Is this the part where you attack me about it?"
The curse user shuffled his feet. "I was actually hoping you could just let me go."
"Wow, brazen. That pleading look is doing nothing for me." That was a lie. It was pretty cute, curse user or not. He pointed his fork in the guy's direction. "Did you have some kind of evil plan that went awry?"
"Not a one! I didn't have a plan at all, actually," the curse user replied. He sounded too upbeat about it. "I was kind of making it up as I went along. Do you think that stain's going to come out? My shoes were muddy."
"Forget about it," Satoru instructed.
"Okay!"
"What's your name?"
"Itadori Yuuji."
“Do you know who I am, Itadori?”
“Gojo Satoru, the strongest sorcerer!” Itadori didn’t spit it out like a proper curse user, but like an overeager student. To a teacher, this was unfortunately charming behavior.
"Where are you from?"
"Sendai."
"Hm." He didn't seem to be lying, Satoru decided, and he'd not heard any reports of suspicious activity from Sendai. Still, his cursed energy… The mass in the curse user’s chest pulsed like a heartbeat. It was horrendous, fused with its host in a way that had Satoru reflexively checking himself for creepy crawlies. Satoru couldn’t look away. “Are you aware you have a parasite?”
“It’s not a parasite,” Itadori replied, breezily. “I’m pregnant.”
“Congratulations.” Bland was the best Satoru could do with his tone. “A birth and a funeral on the same day. Cursed wombs aren't supposed to be literal, you know.”
Itadori patted his distended stomach; the cursed womb gave a malignant flutter of energy in return. "He'd never do anything to harm me. I know how it looks, but I chose this."
Satoru couldn't say too much about some people's choices, considering many of his own, but he gave the cursed womb a judgmental look anyway, dragging his gaze up to meet Itadori's resolute expression.
With a sigh, Satoru set the remains of his curry on top of his dresser. “Follow me. I’ll escort you off Jujutsu High property."
Itadori sent him a pleased, startled look. "Really?"
"I just know that if I took you to the council, I’d be the one having to deal with you, and I’m all out of fucks this week. I'm not dealing with all that." He made a motion that encapsulated Itadori, mostly centered around his stomach.
Satoru was no stranger to killing, but Itadori hadn't attacked him. All he'd done was drop into his bed and that wasn't a capital crime, shoes or not.
Itadori's voice gained a touch of sympathy. "Has it been a rough week?"
"Long."
Satoru escorted Itadori down the hallway, noting Itadori's curious looks through open doors. Curious, but not deeply so, still no sign of malice despite the noxious cursed energy inside him. He spoke of the trip in broad strokes and didn't feel as though he was being pumped for information. It made the choice to let Itadori go easier.
Itadori didn't try to run, only walking next to Satoru through the grounds of Jujutsu High.
"I've never been to Taiwan," Itadori was saying. "Never been out of the country, actually."
"You should go before the cursed womb eats you alive," Satoru said, helpfully. "Visit Busan. Make it their problem."
"I'll be fine, really," Itadori said. It wasn't as assuring as he likely meant it to be.
"You're very trusting. I could be taking you straight to the containment chamber."
"Nah, we would've gone the other way for that. There's the steps down the mountain right there!"
"So they are. Have you been here before?"
Itadori looked over to him before looking away, back toward the stairs down from the school. "Yeah."
Unusual, that, but not in a way that gave Satoru more understanding. The jujutsu world was too small for Itadori to have attended the school; even without overlap with Satoru's schooling or teaching years, he would have known him. Rarely did someone unaffiliated with jujutsu society visit the school. And with the weight of Itadori's cursed energy, the malevolent cloud of it, you didn't need Six Eyes to bar him entry.
Since Itadori didn't seem to be continuing on the subject, Satoru prodded him some more as they made their way down the stairs. "So what's your deal?"
"Uh. It’s a secret." A flush poked out from under Itadori's sweatshirt. He had to know how ridiculous that answer sounded.
"Is it."
"Big secret. What’s your deal?"
Satoru tapped his blindfold. "Six Eyes. Limitless. Strongest sorcerer alive. It's a good deal." Nothing to complain about except for all the times he did.
Itadori nodded. "I always thought that the Six Eyes was misnamed. I mean, it's not like you have six actual eyes." A pause. "Right?"
"I have four more eyes on my chest."
"You do not."
"Sure I do." As they walked, Satoru tapped his nipples and then twice more toward the center of his abdomen. "Right here. They're usually covered by clothes."
"It would serve you right if I spread that rumor, Gojo-s—" A stutter, then, "Satoru."
"Tell your curse user buddies all about it."
"I will, first one I meet," Itadori replied, laughing. "I'll tell them: I met Gojo Satoru and he was really cool and he didn't try to kill me and he personally told me about his nipple-eyes. Are they the same color as your regular eyes?"
"They match my hair."
"Freaky. Do you have to close them when you shower or do they have a third eyelid?"
A ridiculous conversation, but one that lifted Satoru out of his previous flight-induced irritation. "Third eyelid. I keep them open. The moisture keeps them from getting too dry. What about you?"
"I close them when I shower along with my regular eyes. But when I go swimming, I can keep all four open! I taught myself how so that I wouldn't have to worry about carrying goggles around."
"I bet you're properly creepy when underwater." Satoru hummed. "Are they natural?"
"They're mine," Itadori replied, which didn't clarify the question. "Hey, what's Taiwan like?"
Satoru considered ditching him for that blatant change of subject, now that they were past Tengen's barrier and proceeding along the path down the mountain. It was either that or regale Itadori with his gastronomical adventures up and down Taiwan. The choice was made for him when the words spilled out, the Taiwanese sponge cake too good to not speak of. Itadori couldn't display a fault even then, actively listening and even asking if Satoru had any vacation pictures. What kind of person actually wanted to see a stranger's vacation pictures? Itadori, apparently.
Satoru held out his hand. “I’ll warp you the rest of the way, save you a walk in the heat.”
Itadori didn’t hesitate to place his hand on his. What were they teaching curse users these days? Honestly. Satoru warped them both, relinquishing Itadori’s hand once they arrived.
Up ahead was a small train station, the rail connecting with a larger transit hub a few towns over. From there, Itadori would be able to switch trains and return to Sendai. Convenient for jujutsu sorcerers who didn't have teleportation powers and weren't high ranked enough for a manager's attention, the poor bastards.
"Thank you for seeing me off, Gojo!" Itadori's second pair of eyes deliberately closed as they approached the station, now looking smaller, like strange flaps of skin. Someone who hadn't seen them could mistake them for scars or a skin condition unsolved by moisturizer.
“Thank me by stabbing that cursed womb before it gets anyone killed.”
“I know you don’t believe me, but it’s a lot more innocent than it seems. It’s not like the rest of them.” Itadori’s expression begged for understanding that wouldn’t come. “You don’t have to worry about me. I promise.”
“I’m not worried about you. I’d rather it not take out half of Sendai before someone alerts me.” Satoru sighed, taking one last look at that stomach. By and large Satoru let people make their own mistakes. Even when they were being incredibly stupid. "You didn’t have your wallet on you when you did the technique, did you?"
"Uh, no."
"How did you plan to get home?"
Itadori ran a sheepish hand through his hair. "I thought I’d ask everyone at the station until someone took pity on me."
Satoru slipped a card out of his pocket and threw it his way; Itadori caught it easily. It was the least he could do after showing Itadori several dozen dessert photos, captured specifically to annoy his wards. "Don’t be a pest. I have money."
Itadori's answering smile was bright, fully at war with the darkness of his cursed energy. It was a mildly unnerving sight. The pink hair didn't help, all fluffy and inviting. "I'll be right back with it."
While Itadori turned around to buy a ticket, Satoru warped away from the train station. He deliberately shoved away all thought of that pink hair. It was something, knowing that this misguided sympathy wouldn't mean anything in the long run. Soon, the cursed womb would birth and take Itadori's life with it, feasting on his entrails, dragging his body along until the umbilical cord tore. It would go on to attack people in Sendai. Should've just taken care of it, Satoru thought, but the thought was hard to reconcile against Itadori's genial attitude. At the level to which the cursed womb was fused with Itadori, it would be his life, too. A handful more days or weeks of life wouldn't make much of a difference. Even the strongest couldn’t fix all the world’s problems before they grew. Let someone else deal with it; someone else to see that pink hair red with blood.
A few taps on his phone would cancel the card. Instead of doing so, Satoru spied Shoko's cursed energy on campus, and he decided to be a pest himself.

I can't believe I didn't like Temporary Partner the first time I read it years ago. The second time around, I absolutely adored Aslan and Quaid. I devoured all the books in this series, as well as the spin off series in a matter of days, leaving me with a terrible book hangover. It just shows that sometimes, you find the right book at the wrong time.
