“Can we talk?” Ben asks, hand covering his brow from the sunlight.
Rey climbs down from the tree. She’s a little shaken from the last time. Her fiery spirit crushed into a break down.
“I’m sorry I ruined your landscape. I’ll tend to it as soon as I can.” Ben apologies.
She gritted her teeth at that. When will that promise be fulfilled? How soon? This home was all she had. He destroyed her garden. Two goddamn years of hard work. She wasn’t in it for the money. It was for Leila, Han Solo and herself. It bothered her why he was such a prick after she defended herself.
Though, she wonders if she really has a right to live here. In the guest bedroom of their home. The home where Ben Solo was raised. She barely heard either of them talk about him. Leia spoke of the good memories, oh and Han bickered about the dent Ben put into his truck. Which still remained there for some reason.
“Leia will appreciate it. But, I’ll be gone by tomorrow morning anyway.” Rey says, fixing her attention to the grass. Anything other than looking at him was better than feeling low.
“Fuck.” He whispers. He rubs the bridge of his nose. He really fucked up. He thought her presence here was to replace him. At the time, it made perfect sense. The time frame of when he left — she moved in. Ben fucking Solo was replaced by a beautiful landscaper from. . . he didn’t know where. This was his fault for snapping. His temper hurt her.
“Please don’t go.” He starts. “I’ll pitch in on the project-“ She turns the other way. For her it was no use. The way she envisioned the landscape could not be restored the same.
“W-Walt! You name what you want and it’s yours.”
And so she releases her vent.
Rey turns on her heels, glaring at Ben Solo. “What I did want was ruined.”
“Please let me make it up to you. Please.” He follows her down the hill.
My motivation ends. Maybe I’ll pick it up again.
