soooooo valid and this is coming from someone who enjoys the (work of) many celebrities like .... even a generally well liked one that i like myself posted smth the other day that was just a very casual life update and i like could not fathom the world they were living in at all. and theres a lot of irritation tied to that. i was literally just thinking about this the other day bc i thought it was normal as a kid for celebrities to crave the max amount of attention for their work or their artistry as possible and to some extent i do get that. but the older i get the more im like. as a grown adult to chase an unprecedented level of power/wealth/recognition pathologically is so weird. and then to get this whole ego about it like youre rly better than others bc you have a bunch of yes men on pay roll and you contributed to some popular media or whatever .... nahhhhh. it really is gross and weird in a lot of ways. idk if thats like an oversimplification or what but it just kinda issssssss to me dude. it sometimes reminds me of when people scream really really loud on rollercoasters. ive never understood this bc im like i get having fun and laughing and yelling but really really screaming seems like an odd active choice. and thats how i feel when i see videos of ppl meeting celebs or like absolutely worshipping the ground they walk on. i get feeling emotionally connected to them and appreciating what they do. deifying the ultra wealthy seems like an odd active choice
