Unveiled at the 1958 Paris Motor Show, the @ferrari 250 GT Coupé was a decisive step forward toward true series production for the Italian automaker. With the new new coupé the decision was made to appoint renown coach builder Pininfarina to replaced the previous Boano & Ellena-built cars. The 250 was a true ‘gentleman’s Ferrari’, in every sense of the phrase. Thanks to its subdued styling that surrounded the luxurious interior many viewed the car as elegant and appreciated its lack of ornamentation and garish features. From afar, the conventional lines are well proportioned and make an excellent profile mainly due to the lack of three-quarter windows. Subsequently, with a mere 353 example built, the Ferrari 250 GT Coupé became Ferrari’s most commercially successful model - while today mint condition examples are claiming north of $2million at auctions. #meandmybentley
Compared to just about every other car in 1958, this is a sterling example of timeless elegance.
