ssoooo i told my counsellor i don't wanna do dbt anymore. idk why i even started in the first place. i'm not sure why they recommended it to me because i'm the last person in the world who would benefit from this type of therapy lol? i was open to it at first, i'd heard of other people's bad experiences with dbt and i knew it probably wouldn't work for me, but i tried anyway. and i'm not sure why i did, because this truly sucks. i honestly don't want to pursue any type of behavioral therapy after this. if it works for you, i'm happy for you, but i don't think basing your entire therapy on the grounds that your emotional reactions are immature + uncalled for is exactly... helpful? not for me, at least. hearing your t, someone who's supposed to help you, condescendingly ask you why you do certain things, is retraumatizing in ways i can't even put into words. it might just be my t, but this is not working at all for me. yes, i acknowledge that i have a series of toxic behaviors that i have yet to unlearn. but this feels like the completely wrong lens to be looking at my problems through? i need reassurance because i'm fucking psychotic lmao, not whatever the hell this is
