Molten Lava Colorway on Perendale Lambs Fleece
Played with some different than usual dye colors. I hadn’t ever worked with reds before so I broke out some of my perendale lamb wool and searched for some inspiration. Thanks to National Geographic, I found this image of molten lava and gave it my best shot to recreate the colors.
The reds absolutely overtook the dye pot but I think it came out pretty well for a first time. I’m debating how to process the wool for spinning. I don’t know if I want to drum card it or spin from the lock. It’s a very short staple wool, as it is the lamb’s first clipping, so the staple is between 1-1.5 in/3-4cm, and lambs being lambs is full of vegetal matter (VM). I think I will break out the drum carder and see how it cards up. Drum carding would make it a lot easier to spin, but I worry it may lose some of its vibrancy. We shall see. Until then I am enjoying the feel of soft fluffy lambs wool.
Growing cotton: from seed to sweater 🧵
I am still at a loss for what to name my Ashford Elizabeth, she's so pretty now that I painted her.
So... Any ideas?
Samples from the 8lbs of raw wool I received in the mail this week! Eeeeek so excited. Romney crossbreed fleeces from Lopez Island, WA.

So cool! What a work of art
Maybe I'm delusional, but after reading the Sweden Rock Mag interview, I largely took it as positive re: Ghost.
He essentially said 'I'm burnt out on Ghost, let me step back so I don't get to a point where I completely resent it & quit for good. Hopefully, I can come back to it in a healthy way.'
This 👆 is me paraphrasing, but I do not understand some irrational reactions to this. It's okay to be sad (I did tear up while reading), but this is...positive. Stepping back from things you love when they become overwhelming is a core human experience. I personally love a self aware king.
I'm glad he had family to support him when things got really bad, & it's crazy he's powered through the last two years. I hope he finds some peace, can reconnect with friends, spend time with the twins, & work on his other projects at his own pace. He deserves it.
And if Skeleta *does* happen to be it, what a poetic ending for Ghost.
"This is the end of the avenue
I am afraid of eternity, too."
He doesn't know what's next, & that's okay.
I have many more thoughts I'm sure I'll yap about later. But the congregation will be fine.
We have Ghost. We have everything.

A much needed mending job to my oldest chrochet cardigans sleeve cuffs. Made this 6 years ago and its cuffs were so tattered. Cutting off the old applied ribbing and re-crocheting the cuffs from a sorta matching blue lol.
