when i interact with someone i interact with them on an individual level of like they're a human being and we are equal in that we deserve the same basic human rights and they just so happen to be white or black or gay or straight or a man or a woman but they are an individual first however i think a loooooot of people especially now that identity is so important to some people interact with people based on their demographics first and treat them according to their preconceived notions of those demographics and who they think they are instead of giving them the grace of being an individual person first and letting them show them who they are
