"Not beating the ___ allegations" is such a 'now' turn of phrase, implying as it does a world where everyone's behavior is always on literal trial by a guilt-presuming judge and jury that consists of anyone who happens to be paying attention.
Not beating the panopticon allegations
The internet is a weird place because I just stumbled across one of my own posts on Facebook, and a few people underneath were talking about how they follow me and love my “content” because I don’t let my multiple disabilities stop me, and I’d just like to say becauseI can’t say it on Facebook without giving away my govt name: what a crock of shit.
I post constantly about how my multiple disabilities hinder me and have actively prevented me from working consistently.
My disabilities prevent me from doing things constantly, because they are disabling. That’s the reality of being disabled.
I don’t do things to overcome my disabilities; I achieve things alongside my disabilities at a pace that does not harm me mentally or physically because I am done with pushing limits. I tried. It almost killed me. I will not do it again, so that temporarily abled people will think better of me for keeping pace with them, or can feel inspired, or whatever the fuck.
And maybe you didn't mean it to come across like that, but please don’t erase what I accomplish alongside my disabilities, not in spite them. And especially please, if you’re also disabled, chronically ill, or just plain old struggling because the world is a dumpsterfire, don’t use me to guilt yourself into doing more.
I would never tell you to push through pain or fatigue for the sake of wildly unsustainable productivity because that shit’ll kill you.
If you do not rest, your body will make you rest. Trust me. I get to live in the ruins of what's left of mine.
• Review: What the River Knows •
I'm not quite sure how Isabel Ibañez has done it, but she has taken one of my least favorite plot devices – withholding information to purposefully keep someone ignorant of a situation – combined it with the chronic folly that is being a teenage girl, and turned it into an addicting tale that you'll want to devour in one sitting.
The story follows Inez, a railroad heiress who has spent her life in Buenos Aires while her parents largely live in Egypt, funding her uncle's excavations. But when she receives a magical artefact from her father and then the sudden word of her parents’ mysterious deaths, Inez goes to Cairo and inserts herself into their world – only to find that her uncle absolutely does not want her there, and there is Lots of Scheming afoot.
And of course, there is Whitford Hayes, a charming, rakish, British gentleman who works for her uncle. Inez knows she can't trust him, but she is outrageously attracted to him anyway.
Though none of the twists and turns here necessarily came as a surprise to me, Ibañez creates an evocative world of magical realism, and characters that are easy to love – Inez, though young and too trusting, is audacious and amusing, and Whit is very swoony, if a complete mess.
Set during the archaeological boom in Egypt, What the River Knows is an intriguing read that seamlessly blends historical fiction with magical realism, adventure, and a strong dose of mystery. Though the book will likely frustrate you to no end as Inez tries to learn the truth about her parents' fate, what her uncle is up to, and who she can trust, it's a hard book to put down.
And the epilogue? It'll have you screaming.

I’m feeling enchanted today after closing the pages of this book. The Mummy meets Death on the Nile in this magical adventure. I highly recommend!

What the River Knows
ppl need to stop saying Harry and Draco are black cat x golden retriever. They’re both hissy cats. Are you kidding me. Harry Potter hasn’t had a moment of peace his whole life this boy is so grumpy and sassy and Draco Malfoy is spoiled and a prick and incredibly dramatic. They’re both grumpy. There’s no sunshine. They are each other’s sunshine.
ngl i really need someone to fuck my wet pussy so hard that i wouldn’t be able to walk for days
just imagining someone pushing my head into the pillow by gripping my hair from behind while she’s thrusting her thick and huge strap inside me and the only sounds that can be heard inside the room are her grunts, our skin slapping, and my moans and whimpers of pleasure
fuck, i’d even get wetter for her if she degrades me so much
men and minors do not interact
The funniest thing Stranger Things could do is reveal that Steve’s parents are like, really liberal. They donate to AIDs research. They were arrested protesting the Vietnam War. They campaigned for Mondale. Steve tells them that Nancy broke up with him and they’re like, “Thank god, that family believes in Reaganomics.”
OP tags above, Steve’s parents below lmao

A really funny tumblr thing is people using "as someone with a special interest in x" as their like source of legitimacy on something.
it's being used as shorthand for "as someone who has done a lot of research on the topic" but it's funny because ppl have such a hard time realising they're capable of being wrong about their special interests and they're not just magically more able to aquire correct information than everyone else.
your special interest is great but let's see some Primary sources!

is there actually anything more irritating than depression apathy… like why am i sitting here arguing with myself “i kinda wanna play a video game but i kinda don’t because, what, i’m just gonna boot up a game and play it and have fun and close it when i’m done? get real”

i find it so interesting how people act like "critically examining a piece of media" is the opposite of "enjoying that piece of media." rip to you but i actually find it really enjoyable and compelling to dissect and think through the art i engage with
perhaps ripping this one little piece of skin off my lips will at last render them plump and moisturized
