Say Hi to Karl.
Spring migration
Hundreds of toads moving through the dark, following a memory older than the road that now cuts their path in two.
They are trying to return to the pond where they were born, where they will sing, mate, and leave the next generation behind.
Along the roadside, small fences guide them. They gather there and wait until someone comes with a bucket and gentle hands to carry them across.
Tonight there were so many. And among them a beautiful grass frog, and a few quiet little newts.
Small creatures, big journeys. I feel very lucky to help them get home. 🐸
Okay, I might be getting a little megalomaniacal but I’m seriously considering turning one of my favorite paintings into a giant crochet tapestry. Ever since I read The Silmarillion at fifteen, I’ve been in love with Roger Garland’s illustration of the Two Trees of Valinor. I previously made a small tapestry crochet piece using just two colors and it already was a pain in the ass. So why not scale it up to a one and a half-meter-long work with twenty different colors? 😄😄😄
First time trying tapestry crochet 🌿
Inspired by something similar I saw on here, I used a dragon pattern I bought on Etsy to make this tapestry.
Mounted on a branch I stripped of bark and stained dark brown.
It took far longer than planned, but I’m glad I followed it through. Learning tapestry crochet will carry over into my next project: a dress with Norwegian patterning.

At the moment I’m trying to sew up my fabric scraps so my shelves can finally look a bit less crowded. For many years I’ve been using cotton fleece for a lot of my projects because it’s much more environmentally friendly than regular polyester fleece.
From one of these leftover pieces, I sewed this sweet little cat with safety eyes and nose. She’s about 8 inches tall and just incredibly cute.
The pattern is by @beezeeart and was truly a joy to work with. Very well designed and easy to follow. This is my first ever sewn plush toy, and I’m really happy with how it turned out. 🐱🧵
I made this baker boy hat out of an old pair of jeans. Only one leg was needed so there'll be a second one soon cause this one's a bit on the tight side
Made a cute red mouse for my coworker’s birthday. I make these out of old yarn, stuff them with sheep’s wool and always keep one in my bag to give to someone who looks like they’re in need of a little friend.
Archery as meditation. The world turns green, the birds are singing, and for a moment I forget everything.
Went out to the heath a couple of days ago. A heath is this special type of landscape shaped by poor, sandy soil and centuries of grazing. Too barren for forests, but perfect for wild grasses, heather and sheep. I just missed the purple heather bloom but I did meet the Heidschnucken (local moorland sheep). It feels a little like Rohan, quiet and endlessly calm 💚

Fourth Wing Dragon Bookmarks
I crocheted Tairn, the black Morningstar-tail dragon from Fourth Wing. It worked up quickly and was a lot of fun except for the spikes on his back. Those took patience (and more than a few deep breaths).
The golden Feathertail, Andarna, was made by my friend. Together, we gave both dragons as a gift to another friend for her 21st birthday.
Two dragons. Two makers. One friendship 🖤💛

My Zucchinis this year are as big as newborns :D So next step will be to declutter my basement, make room for a freezer and blanch and freeze all the veggies from my garden.
