Hunter:

Struggles with conveying that he needs comfort/affection, instead when he needs you you’ll just notice that he like keeps trying to find an excuse to get you alone

Once he has a quiet moment alone with you, he pulls you into his arms and buries his face in your neck, muttering a quiet, "Stay with me for a while?"

You especially soothe him a lot when his senses are overwhelming him. Like sometimes he needs to lie against your chest, his face buried against you, your arms wrapped securely around him. He wants to shut out everything but you

Tech:

Always very upfront with you about his needs but honestly, sometimes when Tech needs comfort/affection, he doesn't recognize it. He knows he needs something, but isn't always sure what exactly

Just knows he likes being near you in these moments. Finds a reason to sit with you or ask for your help with something, and then continues to come up with reasons to stay in your presence

But if you reach out first and squeeze his hand or kiss him or give him a hug, he realizes that's what he needed the whole time and melts into the touch immediately. Gets restless when you pull back and bluntly asks for you to touch him again

Wrecker:

No shame in asking for affection, if he wants a hug, he's already there taking it. Very physically affectionate just in general so it's not often that he needs to like go out of his way to ask for affection

Everyone is used to him being touchy/affectionate so his quieter more emotional needs go unnoticed a lot and people often assume if he wants touch, he'll ask for it. So it means SO MUCH to him whenever you're the one to initiate anything, especially if it's really soft

Will sometimes confess insecurities or need for emotional comfort/reassurance usually when he's already cuddling with you and already feels really loved/cared for

Crosshair:

Never asks directly, just hovers around you and keeps getting in your space until you notice. Sometimes randomly pokes you or nudges you to get your attention and to like make you realize he wants you to touch him without having to say it

Sometimes pretends like you're the one who needs affection, drawling, "Hm. You look clingy today," while opening an arm for you to come lean against him

Needs reassurance a lot more often than he ever voices/lets on and you kinda have to learn like a specific look he gets when he's not doing well. Sometimes kinda quietly checks, "You don't regret this?" because he needs to hear you choose him again

Echo:

Often hesitates to ask because he doesn't want to be a burden, even when he desperately wants the reassurance

If he's having a particularly difficult day he just wants to hear you talk about anything. Doesn't matter how mundane, doesn't matter if it has absolutely nothing to do with him in any way, he just wants to hear your voice

Waits to get really affectionate until you're both in bed, when he's suddenly pulling you gently against him and holding you a little more firmly than usual. Stays awake for a long time just to feel you against him, pressing soft kisses to your forehead even after you've fallen asleep

501st

Rex:

Rex doesn't ask for comfort very often, but he can ask when he really needs it. He recognizes when he's reached his limit even if he pushes himself right to the very edge of it every damn time

Initiates affection with like little casual touches that linger and build until you're finally tangled up with each other, and he presses his face into your skin with a heavy sigh of relief

Then will sometimes have little murmured conversations with you while you’re snuggling together, quiet confessions and admissions that he needs reassurance, sometimes just needs you to tell him he made the right call about something

Fives:

Gives you a lot of affection generally but you can tell he needs comfort when it gets softer. Like he'll sit down and throw an arm around your shoulders as usual, but then keeps pressing really soft kisses to your temple and cheek

Asks how YOU'RE doing before bringing up that he needs anything because he wants to make sure you're okay first and doesn't want to burden you with anything

Is pretty upfront about how he's feeling though and is generally good at telling you when he needs reassurance, or if he doesn't really want to talk about it but wants comfort anyway he'll just press his forehead against yours and ask quietly if he can just hold you for a while

Kix:

Usually puts everyone else's needs first so asking for comfort feels kinda unfamiliar and awkward for him. Will also sometimes insist that he's fine even when he's very obviously exhausted. You know he's not doing great when he's letting you fuss over him without some kind of protest

Directs a lot of his need for comfort into taking care of you anyway, making sure you've eaten and asking about your day and stuff like that

So relieved if you just randomly give him a hug tbh, it's so simple but it's kinda his favorite thing to suddenly feel you wrapping your arms around him just because you wanted to

Jesse:

Gets really clingy when he needs comfort. He won't tell you why, he's just suddenly following you around everywhere, wrapping his arm around you at every opportunity, and trying to come up with things for you to do together so you can stay with him

Loves being fussed over but pretends like he doesn't. He often really wants to feel like you're as obsessed with him as he is with you lol and finding an excuse for you to fuss over him is a way he conveys that

Doesn't like feeling like he's worrying you though so he'll often make a joke or say something dry before/in the middle of asking for comfort

Hardcase:

Pretty direct about it when he needs physical comfort/touch. Just like flops down and puts his head in your lap and jokingly pouts that he needs attention

Makes you laugh on purpose because seeing you smile is honestly often just as comforting to him as receiving affection

A little more awkward about asking for like emotional reassurance/comfort and you know he needs it when he's quieter than usual. Still doesn't like bringing down your mood though so he'll still hesitate before admitting he needs it, muttering "Can we just…not talk about anything serious for a bit?" while wrapping his arms around you and pulling you against him

Tup:

Comes off a little anxious when he needs you, fidgeting a lot and glancing at you every couple minutes like he's trying to figure out how he should ask for this

A lot more likely to initiate affection when he knows you need it too. If he sees you having a hard day, comforting you gives him the excuse to hold you close/be clingier than usual without feeling like he's asking too much

Is honest about it when he's really struggling though and really thrives on verbal reassurance

Dogma:

Insists he doesn't need affection right up until the moment you give it to him, like he'll be insisting he's fine, getting irritated whenever you try to push, but then the second you wrap your arms around him he's clinging to you SO tight

Needs a lot of reassurance honestly but genuinely has absolutely no idea how to ask for it and it helps him so much when you tell him you're proud of him or that he's doing well without being prompted

Needs to be reminded a lot that he doesn't always have to earn your kindness or affection, constantly feels like he needs to prove himself to you in some way first in order to deserve it. So you know when he needs comfort when he's like. trying to do EVERYTHING for you and trying to be even more rigid/uptight than usual

Commanders

Cody:

Doesn't outright ask for affection often, is already pretty naturally affectionate with you anyway. But when he like really needs comfort he kinda pushes it down sometimes and "tides himself over" with just like little kisses and touches here and there until he decides it's a good time for more

Finds a lot of comfort in little domestic moments and routines, loves sharing caf with you or making dinner with you and stuff like that, just finds it very soothing and it’s one of the best ways for him to get comfort without having to be obvious about it

Very needy after he's been away from you for a long time and the first thing he does is pull you into a tight hug, pressing his face into your neck and taking deep breaths like it's the first time he's breathed properly in weeks

Wolffe:

Never fucking asks for affection in a normal way, will like complain that you're in the way just to have a reason to pull you closer to him, or will grumble about being tired or sore to give you an excuse to fuss over him

Biggest tell is when he stops trying so hard to keep his guard up, if he's letting himself be tired or quiet or needy without immediately covering it with a sharp remark you know something's up

It relaxes him the absolute most when you rub his shoulders or work the tension out of his neck so if he starts complaining that he’s stiff you know exactly what he wants. He carries all his stress in his shoulders/neck and the second your hands are there he's completely melting

Fox:

Gets bossy. Keeps telling you to kiss him, complains that you're not holding him tight enough, nudges his head into your hand to make you play with his hair

Always touch-starved somehow, even if you've been cuddling him all night he still acts like it's been fucking months since he last saw you. Whenever he's alone with you he's SO clingy and he doesn't bother being subtle about it. Doesn’t ask, he’s just there telling you to touch him

Craves reassurance from you really badly and fishes for it by complaining. He'll launch into a rant about something or another at work and it's just because he wants you to pull him close and kiss his forehead and tell him you're proud of him

Gregor:

Generally has no issue asking for affection tbh. You're getting pulled in for random kisses all the time or having him come up behind you and wind his arms around your waist while pressing his face into your neck and mumbling that you smell good or he’s been missing you

Exaggerates his need for attention because it's easier than admitting he actually needs reassurance/comfort

Lovessss praise and genuinely feels most loved when you notice/remember little things about him or things he does for you and praise him for them. Likes feeling like you value him for the less obvious parts of who he is

Mayday:

Pretty stoic about his own needs but very soft when it comes to you anyway. Barely admits when he's tired or hurting or needy and prefers to just focus on you. A lot more comfortable with giving affection than receiving it

So he doesn't ask for affection so much as he just tries to give you opportunities to give it like sitting beside you or offering you his hand. If he's feeling very direct he'll pat his lap and offer for you to come sit

Doesn't need a lot of words but small reassurances from you go a long way in comforting him

He wasn't easy to draw! The Commander grumbled and moved all the time and as I dared complaining, I got the death stare. But he stayed like a the champ he is.
